We've all been in these crowded little venues, so this
    one hits close to home...

A fire killed at least 65 people at a Great White concert in a night

    Hello Everyone,

My apologies if this had been posted already, but I felt a need to mention
    this.

Dr. Metal (now just known as "The Doctor") of the radio station, WHJY, in
Providence, Rhode Island, USA, is still missing from last night's fatal
fire at the Great White concert in West Warwick, RI. The fire started
when sparklers went off in the nightclub during Great White's performance.
    He was at the show.

The Dream Theater connection to all this is that Dr. Metal was responsible
for getting Dream Theater played on WHJY in the early 1990s. In fact, if I
remember correctly, Dr. Metal and WHJY are thanked in the liner notes of
'Images and Words.' For what it's worth, WHJY in early 1993 was where I
first heard Dream Theater (the edited version of "Pull Me Under.")

Let's keep Dr. Metal and the 95+ people who perished in our thoughts.

    Electronically,
    Dom

Terry has had a huge impact on my drumming with MP a
close second. All the previous suggestions are great.
I would recommend trying to find Heavy Metal Bebop by
the Brecker Brothers. Its live jazz and Terry just
kicks ass on it. Also try to find Zappa in New York.
It's also live and the same timeframe (around '76 I
think) as Bebop, and includes 2 versions of The Black
Page. If you want some videos, Terry has a "Live in
Concert" video thats about an hour long of nothing but
drums, plus his other instructional stuff. I prefer
the Live in Concert because he just performs. Hope
    this helps!

    Hello,

Someone's brought to life Mr. Bahr again. I'm one of many that he owes something for at least 3 years.

However, this subject makes me remind another guy who has screwed me in the past. That's the one who used to run SCARRED RECORDS. If I'm not mistaken, he's called RYAN WHITTAKER. He also owes me some stuff (and I'm still interested in).

Does anybody remember him?? Any clue on how to contact him??

    Alex

    >While I am happy with the news that Chris DeGarmo has returned to record >with QR, I wonder if the end result will be the sequel to 'Hear in the Now >Frontier?' :-P

With any luck, his absence from the group will have given him the opportunity to rid himself of whatever bad ideas he had in him before going. The demons exorcised, he can get back to writing the good stuff.

If DeGarmo officially joins up again, do you suppose QR will give Kelly Gray the boot, or will they pull a Maiden and go the three-axe route?

Gray was given the boot some time ago.

Actually, even Chris's picture is still on their website in some places, from before he left the band years ago! Yeah..the website has been slow with updates, but the webmaster is working on a completely new version of the site with all kinds of updates that will be launched in the next week or two. It looks very nice from what I've seen.
