Well in Seattle, I found four friends to pitch in an extra five bucks
each
and I joined the fan club and got the pre-sale tix!

Kahunaville in Wilmington is a general admission show. Seems funny they're
playing such a small venue for the Philly-area date...not that I'm complaining.

somehow, I'm not so excited by the prospect of
actually seeing fw/qr/dt. Interested? Definitely. But
(based on one single experience, that being
KX/Satch/DT last summer) I'm not a real fan of big
venue concerts, and this tour's stop in Detroit will
be at the same place as was that aforementioned show.
Moreover, 2/3rds of the bands won't be *whole*. You
can argue, and I'd buy it, that Queensryche hasn't
released a decent album in nearly 10 years (Promised
Land is my fave of theirs), and DiGarmo hasn't been
around for at lesat 5, but their rather cynical teaser
of the possibility that he might be back in the band
has really turned me off, to the point where I have no
hopes for Tribe being anything worth listening, to the
point where I'm not sure I care to support the band.
Fates Warning is another band I love, and unlike in
Queensryche's case, I have no issue with their
business practices nor their recent musical output.
But Zonder is my second favorite drummer (after Dennis
Chambers, if you must know). And as good as NDV
is.....he ain't no machine like Zonder is.
That leaves Dream Theater as the only band that is
*whole*, and *true to itself* and any other cliches
you might want to pile on. That's good enough for me
to go to the show, but given what *might have been*, I
think I would have been a whole lot more excited about
a full fledged fates, a DIGarmo enhanced ryche, and DT
being their own bad selves.

I kind of feel the same way as you. I have seen all
of these bands during their prime and yes, I feel they are
all past their prime. To see them all together now is
sort of a parody of what could have been. It's like QR
giving in to their egos, because when they were big, they
were too cool to tour with either DT or FW.

i'm in almost total agreement here. i haven't heard a good QR album in ten years and got burnt bad on Y2Q. now i find that digarmo isn't going to be on the tour (the last time i checked thier web site stated that he had a conflict), and this QR fanclub only tickets sales is bullsh*t. when this tour was announced i thought it would be amazing. now i'm thinking that i'm getting cheated out of an extra 90 minutes w/ DT. but that's just my opinion. jacko

You're not getting cheated out of anything. This is a "bonus" tour. If they weren't doing this QR/DT/FW tour, they wouldn't be touring at all right now. The options aren't "DT w/ QR" or "an extra 90 minutes w/DT"; they are "DT w/ QR" or "no DT at all". If this tour doesn't interest you, just wait until the full-blown DT tour that will follow the release of the new album.

Anyone know why the Atlanta show has been cancelled?
Paul?
Doesn't bother me actually - because I hate the Tabernacle and I'm going to the Orlando show instead.
THANKS!

I read somewhere that supposedly MTV is going to resucitate the show Headbanger's Ball, although it's going to be only one hour long. Anybody have any more info about that?

Check out Metal Mania on VH-1 also. No BS, just videos. It airs several times a week. Some really good videos. Some cheesy ones.
