Mike Pornoy issued a statement regarding what happened:
"A horrific occurrence happened at the end of the show when a fan fell
from the balcony while reaching for a drum head thrown out by MP. As a
result, this show marks the last time drum sticks or heads will be thrown
into the audience."

The seats I had this time in Minneapolis were third row. so it's not like I
wasn't close. Maybe I'm just always unlucky because I always get around the
groups of people who don't get really into it and try and sit down. I hate
sitting down during a concert. although the seats at intermission was nice.

I've seen ACOS live three times now and it is fricking sweet every time. I
don't think I've ever seen Metropolis live. That is the one song that I
haven't seen live that I really want to see. I've seen Learning to Live a
couple times and now Trial of Tears twice. Those four songs are probably my
all time favorites.

The venue is Chicago was like that... with the GA on the floor with seats
in the balcony. I thought it was a pretty cool setup even though the place
was kind of a hole.

Yeah, if someone here was at the st. louis show, I'd be interested to know
what I missed (it sucks being broke).

oh baloney. The first ammendment was designed to protect political speech,
not the broadcasting over public airways of detailed descriptions and
depictions of expliclty sexual acts by morning radio personalities. If you
want access to public debauchery on the public airways, then just say so.
Don't mask it behind some fallacious claiim of first ammendment rights.
If you were that concerned about the first ammendment, you'd be out their
pinching a fit about the advertising restrictions in the McCain-Feingold
campaing finance bill.

bzzt... wrong. Speech, just like all other rights, is not toally free. It is
regulated, and with good reason. Broadcast airways are owned AND REGULATED
by the public. Regulation covers not only bandwith and other technical
concerns, but also content. Just like any Joe Blow can't go set up a 1MW
transmitter in his back yard, he also can't go swearing up a storm once he
does get on air.

I'll concede that the rules may be a bit too vague. But chances are, if
you're worried about what you're doing, then you probably shouldn't be doing
it.

If you don't like it turn it off, I'm sure there is someone who does. Its
called freedom of choice, no one is forcing you to watch it. Plus cable is
subscribed to, that is brought in to the house by choice.

Any restricitons on the media are bad.

Which is totally wrong and against all natural human rights.

The people who are doing it aren't worried, look at Howard Stern...
Government is for three purposes only.
1. Provide for the common defense
2. Provide a framework for (inter)national trade
3. Provide a framework for national law, to be approved and implemented by
each individual state.
Anything else is the government being bloated and power-hungry, and maybe
just maybe the reason for out $6 trillion dollar national debt, and our
slumping economy due to the fact the gold standard has been tossed out the
window

Has anyone heard whether the show in LA where WDADU was played in its
entirety was recorded? I know there have been rumors for years that DT was
going to rerecord all those songs with James and better production. Is it
possible that they will release a live cd of this instead of a studio
rerecording? Just curious if anyone a little more in the know than me has
heard anything.

Absolutely, positively *RUN* to get this DVD...and buy more for your
friends!
I saw Opeth with Porcupine Tree last year when they played the entire
"Damnation" album (a definite "top ten" for 2003, BTW), and I liked 'em. I
never could get in to their death metal stuff though...until I bought the
Lamentations DVD a couple of weeks ago. I now "get" the DM vocals, and have
since purchased the four CD's I didn't have. They are very intense, very
heavy (at times), very dark, and very good.

Just a "buyer's beware" note about DeepDiscountDVD (and DeepDiscountCD).
They very often have great prices, but they also very often don't have the
less popular items in stock. Most often when ordering less popular items,
you'll wait weeks/months and finally get an order cancellation from them. I
tried purchasing the Flower Kings limited edition DVD/CD set, and never
could get it. I'd be very wary of any of the above items...maybe you'll get
it, but maybe you won't.
You may want to try TheEndRecords (www.theendrecords.com) too. They have
low prices, some of the DVD's noted above, quick shipping, and FREE shipping
to the USA.

Noted. Thanks Rick :)
I checked out The End too, and the rest were (mostly) ludicrously more expensive there.
*Checks DVD wants text file*
Opeth DVD not at The End
TFK 22$ at The End
Transatlantic 29$ (WHA?!) at The End
The Beard 18$ at The End
Steve Morse not at The End
compared to below... :S

Anyone else have any set lists for this leg of the tour. I am trying to
put together a quick cd for someone who is going with me to a show and I
want them to know as many songs as possible. Anyway, let me know if you
have any other set lists for the show.
THanks,

i checked most of these items on digitaleyesdvd, & they only cost a buck
more than at DD. plus, i've NEVER had a problem getting what i wanted, &
getting it FAST. deffinetly worth it, & no, i'm not getting a finder's
fee from digitaleyes.... ;)

I thought you folks in and around Rochester, NY (I know there are a couple out there) may be interested to know that there's a local prog/metal/guitar radio show called "The Academy of Shred." It's on Wednesday nights from ?8?-10 on 88.5. I got in the car tonight and was treated to "Raise the Knife." :-)

No offense intended to anyone here =>
Wow this is a laugh. It's also the reason that we non-US people like your country so much ! Your like a soap opera => all this for 1 tit on TV !
Sure when I saw my first tit I was only a few hours old, and it was even worse then this cause it was my mothers ;).
I'm sure that without any uproar your children wouldn't even have noticed.
Here on a live child TV show a few years ago one of the adult singers on stage had no nickers on, and showed all by twirling in front of a low camera. Granted it was only a fleeting image. It was talked about for a couple of days. No children noticed let alone were shocked. OK the singer was thrown out of the show and hasn't been seen since, but I imagine how your gov would have reacted to that ! lol
Keep it up the US you crack me up, without you what would the comedians have to say ?
Bye bye for now, A Carbon Based Life Form.
