It starts at 4:17 in Take the Time on my Images disk. (Didn't I post that
yesterday? If so did I post the same clocktime?) Check it out, it's the
"this world is spinning around me" riff.

Heh heh! That's classic!! :) This is the stuff of which rock legends are
made... if only Rush had as much trivia, fandom, and bootleg stuff after
only two albums. (The first known LP bootleg of Rush cannot be had for
less than $200. It's a transparent-red vinyl, numbered, signed (though I
SERIOUSOLY doubt the signatures are anything but copied) LP called "Live
at Electric Lady 1974" that had a circulation of 500 printed. Thank GOD
that DT bootlegs are far more common.

But aside from the Wanted: cover, every demo made by DT after the 1986
Majesty demos is technically a Dream Theater demo. :)

Hehe Hey! I bet you're right!! In fact I am sure of it! After all,
look how much of the stink that sorry ex-GNR drummer raised... grin.

You never hear from the drummers of Queensryche or Galactic
Cowboys though... shame too. Monty is a blast to chat with heh

Well, it was an instrumental section with no title, since I got
this as a copy. Sound about right?

Earlier you guys were wondering the ages of the band members. Well,
Mike Portnoy is 25 years old. I was looking through some of my files
last night (instead of studying *smirk*) and found an interview someone
posted on here from a magazine. (Michael E. Patrick posted it, email
71203.3457@compuserve.com). So we have one member down :)

As I said before, I asked the company that, and they called me irl and they
guy said that the only diff that he knew of was that they were from different
places. Other then that he said they're the same, so go for the cheapest.
Also, ALEX is on sale right now:)

He also hits a D and G at the same time after hitting a C#.

I think the biggest problem with metropolis is the stupid digital delay
on the unison solos. It makes it sound sloppy.

Its not a main riff, its 4 notes in a melody that are similar. I don't
think it should be in the FAQ, or it should say something like "similar
melodies".

Ok, here's the story (from what I've experienced) about CDC:

I recently ordered (about a month ago) the WDADU and LATM cds and I
got them within a week and three days to be exact. I just chose the
cheapest verion of each and there seems to be no problem whatsoever
with them! I think (now this is just my opinion) that the other
expensive versions of the same albums are the exact same albums except
that they more expensive becuase they are imported from a different company
or a different source).

All that I know is that CDC is very reliable and very punctual
about delivering.

Oh, I have another idea about this digest (I guess this goes to the
list owner though, but I'm posting this anyway). When and if the
person that said they'd put up the FAQ on FTP and LISTSERV, the list
owner should put a message at the beginning of every digest saying how to
subscribe/unsubcribe and how to recieve YTSEJAM in digest form. Also
you could put info on how to get the FAQ (via FTP of LISTSERV).

If any of you fellow YSTEJAM subscribers or the list owner get the
NMS digest (the Rush digest), they have something very similar to what
I'm talking about. This would eliminate all subscribe, unsubscribe
requests to the mailing list and it would eliminate all confusion for
new members (about subscribing or FAQ requests).

Just another $.02 idea!! Just trying to make the YTSEJAM digest
even better!!!!!!!!!

I'm going out on a limb, but I gotta say that the two best things that have hit
the shelves this year are Dream Theater's concert video, _Images & Words: Live
In Tokyo_ (breast autographing and all), and _Counterparts_ by Rush (ESPECIALLY
"Animate"). I also hear that the new King's X album is coming out in January
and is called _Dogman_. The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien who has
worked with Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ty
Taylor wrote a song called "Dogman" for the new album that was inspired by none
other than Rush Limbaugh.

Peace.

I just have one question. If it's an improvised song, how can it be a shank?
Maybe he planned it that way, but it just sounded like a mistake? ;-D

I was listen to Rock 103.1 in Baltimore a few weeks ago and they were having
some national (?) broadcast of some show like the Power Hour or Metal Shop or
some kinda thing like that. I don't believe that it was the local Power
Zone show, though...

Anyway, the guy said something like, now here is the our most requested song
of the week, and it was Metropolis Live at the Marquee!!!! My friend and I
were shitting our pants!!! They played the whole damn thing, we couldn't
believe that they didn't edit it or anything.

It was amazing!

Jason Hartman

" I am the Killing Hand!"

BTW - E-mail me if you have a copy of that "cover" of Dead or Alive, I would
really like to get a copy! Thanks!

I have two bitches about this being in the FAQ:
    1) Its not a main riff, as you say
    2) They are similar, but different. The notes are different, not just
because of the key, which is probably different, but in relation to
       eachother. Look at this:

Pull Me Under:

-----2----------------3---------------4-------------------------2-0------
------------------------3---------------5-4^5^4---------------------3----
---4---4------------5-----5---------6-----------6-------2-0---4----------
------------------5---------5-----6-------------------0------------------
-2--------------3---------------4----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------3--------------------

Take The Time

Well, readers of the list, what do you think? It was included int he FAQ
because (I figured) it stood out so obviously. however as has been shown,
there is a difference. Do I nuke it, or keep it? Keep in mind that if I
nuke it, inevitably there will be DT newbie fans going "Why is that 'this
world is spinning aroudn me' part duplicated in Take The Time and why
havent I heard about it from you guys?"
