    Hi all

Wednesdays issue of Kerrang (UK rock/Metal mag) had a page size
advert for DT. Lots like they wanted to get everything out in the
    open....

The UK release for the tour/interview footage video will be in
January 94 (I hear the screams from UK fans!!!)

However there was a little part of the page showing album covers
and WDADU wasnt shown...does the publishing company have a problem
with this album, as it is not available in the UK...I have had to
order it from the US!!!....Were DT on a different lable before
    Images and Words came out?

    Oh well life goes on

    Cheerz
Mike - who cant wait for the 21st Nov astoria gig
if any London readers of this are going...
give me a call....me might get together for
                     a drink!!!

Howdy again... Just went with a friend to Houston yesterday to get him some bass strings (he needed a set of six), and we went to the Texas Music Emporium. "What the hell does this have to do with dt???" Everyone asks. Well, they had bunches of little contest entry forms for an Ibanez "Dream Lesson" contest. You all might have heard of this, but if not, the winner gets a lesson from Petrucci, as well as one of his USA custom "face graphics" Ibanezes. There are 20 or 30 second prizes, which are Ibanez shaped tables (!!??) all signed by him also. Then the shitty third prize is Ibanez pocket guitar stands (!!?? again) which don't sound very appealing. Anyway, just thought I would tell everyone so you can go to your local Ibanez dealer and lessen my chances of winning. BTW, you have to get a sales- person to sign each entry, so it is hard to snag a bunch to enter multiple times. I snagged a bunch anyway. Another aside: Does anyone know of any upcoming record shows in Texas, preferably Houston or Dallas? I don't hear much music news here in College Station, TX, (BFE). I really want to get some dt cd boots, all I have is vids. OH, anyone who wants a guys name that mail orders vid boots, e-mail me. His business is called "Unreleased concerts on video" and the price is $20 for any- thing less than 2 hours. He has like a dozen dt vids, probably double that in rush and queensryche. He even has obscure stuff like voivod and fates warning back in the "Awaken the Guardian" era. One last thing, I promise: Anyone on this list listen to Helstar or Watchtower? Please let me know if you know anything about these bands. Helstar was from Houston, and Watchtower was from Austin I believe. Both had major record deals, a couple of cds, and then they just vanished. Please help.

A while back, when pittsburgh still had 97 rock, James Labrie said that they were going to re-release WDADU eventually as a collectors item. Maybe they'll remaster it and get rid of the damn midrange.

Well, I know this mail order place, but you can probably find a cheaper place. Still, if you want you can call them up, their really helpful and have a pretty big selection of import CD's. It's where I got my DT imports.

I got this letter also, but I wrote to an address in Nov of 92 and got something back.. I don't know why they said, "it took so long." I guess because I was on the list of interest from last club..

I bought the "Images and Words" album and was blown away by Mike Portnoy's drumming. The guy is just PHENOMENAL!!! What I would dearly like to know now is: do these guys have any other albums out? I'm particularly interested in albums done with Portnoy drumming. Please e-mail me at "yhilal@uclink.berkeley.edu" if you have any of this info or if you'd just like to let me know how good Portnoy (or the rest of the band, for that matter) is. Thanks!!!

    Hello fellow DTers!!

I know the best place to get both WDADU and LATM within 1 week, and 3 days (I am in PA, the place is in CA)!!! It was adverstised on this mailing list before.

It's called the Compact Disk Connection. It's is an online service that sells have an online catalog of over 75,000 cds: all old and new US releases and IMPORTS!!!

To logon to the Compact Disk Connection, TELNET to HOLONET.NET and login as cdc.

From there (if it connects) it gives you a menu that's easy to understand.

I personally have ordered from this company and like I said before the CDs came to me under 2 weeks!!! Not bad for mail order!

    Sincerely

    Alex Randall (ar4845@ark.ship.edu)
