that i had recorded it on was stolen this morning, along with my
deck, amps...everything, when someone broke into my car last night.

heh. They must push them hard only in certain spots, then. I never saw
anything about the Cowboys here in Atlanta, except for the CDs in the bins.
I was under the impression that Geffen had done for them exactly what its done
for 9/10 of the bands it signs. Absolutely nothing. They certainly didn't
push airplay or videoplay. Oh well. Its too bad, really, cause they're one
hell of a band....

To follow up on Mike Burstin's comment about James's singing on Parallels, I have that album and just recently got Perfect Symmetry by Fates Warning (great album). Kevin Moore plays keyboards on a "Metropolis and Kansas's "Cheyenne Anthem'"esque song called At Fates Hands. Perfect Symmetry is much more in the Dream Theater vein than Parallels. It seems Terry Brown watered down their crazy rhythm changes, but the album is incredible. I recommend it and Perfect Symmetry to all DT fans.

I read Joey Bibb's letter about hearing Another Day on the cycling championship, which I didn't hear, but I was at a stereo shop here in Syracuse on Saturday 4/2 and there on ABC was the introduction to some diving competition and the music was none other than Pull Me Under! I thought it sounded great over the stereo they had it playing over... Sure brightened my day! Anyone else see it?
Later, Josh

I was also flipping through channels before the final 4 tournament last weekend, and I saw this cliff diving competition. When the credits started rolling, they played the intro to Pull Me Under. PARTY!!! -Adam

To ystejam'rs,
Am new to the ystejam mailing list and would just like to pass along my greetings. I was turned on to DT with the release of the Images and Words CD and subsequent airplay on the local rock station. I was completely blown away by the music this band was playing and after seeing them live in St. Louis, went out and bought the CD. Was pleasantly suprises to finally find one of those "rare" CD's where I enjoyed every song on it. I am interested in finding out all I can about these guys and similar bands. Would appreciate any information my fellow fans can pass along. Am really interested in prior albums and any live/bootleg stuff (preferably on CD) and all opinions on these releases. So that other subscribers to the list don't have to read mail on things they already know about, just send the info directly to my box. My e-mail is 15smsac1.hqamc@mhs.safb.af.mil. Sorry about the length of the address, but you now how the military and our government goes to excess with everything. By the way, just got Mike's e-mail about the status of the latest DT album. I think it's great that the member's of the band will keep the member's of the list up to date and will take the time, no pun intended, out of their personal life to talk to the fans. Haven't really experienced that before.

Labrie is just simply not experienced and trained enough to hold his consistency from show to show... the whole band is young, it shows in their stage performances... more mechanical than flowing... but, they are still young...

<<< GREAT tape. I'm talking about the Neil solo tape. Especially the later stuff, keep getting more and more complex. I don't know why Neil chooses to use similar stuff in most of his solos though. He wants to establish some kind of Neil trademark I guess. (Does anybody else agree with me that he plays similar solos in many of his tours?) Anybody else that got this tape from Mike, can you pleeeaaase tell me if you think, that the ealier solos (from 74 to about 80) sound a lot like Mike's solo in Live in TOkyo. This is driving me crazy. Everybody outthere that thinks I'm wrong, DONT start a flame war. This is just my opinion. >>> I noticed a lot of similarities in Niel's and Mike's solos (comparing Niel's from Exit...Stage Left and A Show of Hands and Mike's from Tokyo and DoE). Especially the beginning of the one in Yyz from Exit...Stage Left(Niel) and the LiT (Mike).
