That's where you are wrong and you said it yourself. I wasn't raising
Portnoy to Weckl's level I was merely comparing styles. And if you look at
it, Portnoy is a closer style to Weckl than it is to Peart.

No one said Portnoy was jazz... I said he was a DERIVATIVE, do you understand

I beg to differ, while Peart does have jazz influences in the more traditional
sense, Portnoy is more progressive/fusion oriented with his off-beat
accents.
