Well, after listeing yet again, this time through headphones... I am
discovering some of the little things about the tracks... There seems
to be alot of orchestration, or at least something that sounds like
violins... perhaps Kevin has his keys set on violins... So far, I
Caught In A Web has some, Voices does, and I know SDV does...

Also, there are alot of background samples from various movies or TV
shows... I know someone told me that the rather long sample in SDV is
from A Room With A View... 6:00 starts out with some, and Voices has
some also that I just picked up with my headphones on...

Also, John P is absolutly FLYING on Erotomania... (can you say
    Yngwie).

man that hits it on the head... DT sure has to grown on your first and that may be one of the reasons for its lack of popularity. either way, think of this... songs that are so spectacular that you enjoy them on the first listen, and then start noticing the sublties and enjoy the songs even further! I can't WAIT util this CD comes out.....

Hi, I' T.Okuda in the land of the 'Rising sun'. (^^) I'm worring that I had better ask this question in another place,

<Michael on Digest 510 topic No.7 writes:> >I'm gonna give you a full blank screen so you can switch your emulation >to ANSI on your terminal so you can see this. AOLers and Delphi folks,

I don't know what 'ANSI' is. Is this some kind of chracer code like JIS and Shift-JIS? I'm using unix WS and I couldn't read that text. What should I do for reading 'ANSI' text?

What did you contribute to here Ytsejam? some kind of picture or sound data? And more, I'd like to know FTP-site you re-contributed after.

    let me know.

P.S: I've quitted saying 'forgive my grammertical mistakes...'. Thanks a lot for Mr.Stimp and all of Ytsejam members! I'll try harder than ever.

I've been looking for an Images & Words poster for a long time. It's a 2'x3' version of the album cover, and record stores had them, but were snatched up before I could get one.

Does anoyne know where I can obtain one?

It's a graphical file that many terminals that call BBS'es can see in graphical mode right here online. It's fairly basic, but at least it can be used over the modem. I uploaded a graphical file that it seems about half of you were able to see, and about half were not. Mike Burstin is going to try and get it sent up to the Archive FTP site.

Hey all, I just picked up the LIE promo single at a record fair today, kind of by accident. I was quickly browsing and the guy had it separated from all his other material. He barely knew what it was. Got it for $5. Anyway, after listening to it a couple of times, I don't like it nearly as much as the first .wav file from music.net FTP site. Part of the reason is because I love the part of 'Mirror' that was included at the beginning. I think the transition works so well, so I'm hastily awaiting my advanced copy of Awake. Also, they cut off the whole end, from the Pup reminicent part to the end. That guitar solo at the end is awesome. Well, the cover is worth 5 bucks anyway. In conclusion, I do think Lie is an awesome tune (not like most of you who see it as less than DT), but I don't enjoy cutting a song up for commercialism, even though I understand that it must be done, unless we want to kiss DT goodbye or have to get everything on import. Just get me AWAKE! BTW, any more word on the bonus single (Japan) being Eve? Just wondering if the local news has changed.

    Later, KAI

I have a few questions about the song Eve. Is this an instrumental? If so, does it feature drums as well as bass, guitar, and keyboards? FYI, this is related to the offer Kaoru made to get the Japanese edition of Awake. I'm not into collecting all of DT's material just for the hell of it, but I am trying to get hold of a good portion of Portnoy's stuff.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would like to get your thoughts on this...

I can't decide whether or not to get a copy of Awake from one of my buddies on the net, or to wait til the album comes out on the 4th. I really wanna hear the new stuff but I wonder if I may miss out on the "full impact" of getting the actual disc and seeing the cover, the pictures, the lyrics, etc.

    What do you think?

Has anyone found out for sure what is coming with the Japanese version of Awake? So far, its sounds like a little CD (3") with a studio version of Eve. Is this true?

Anyone else ordering a copy from our Japanese friend for $30?

Yes, What John Baczek (I think it was) Said about IRC. The channel moderator(s) would just need to make the channel moderated, then give the question-asker a voice (mode +v) long enough for their Q&A. Then afterwards, they'd be -v'd, and the next question would be +v'd. I've seldom seen this used, but it's darn near perfect for our purposes.

Channel #DreamTheater, maybe? It's kinda long, but it's recognizeable. :)
