Did you read the whole thing??? The last few "reviews" have some
pretty harsh (read: shitty) criticisms of DT. One person said he
threw away (honestly) his IAW CD although he liked WDADU, and another
said DT couldn't be classified as a progressive band and that with IAW
they had sold out by writing MTV-ish songs. "A notch above pop-rock."
What the hell?
Well, in scanning the entry for Rush, the reviewer called Neil's
lyrics "pseudo-garbage". Well I think I've seen the light! Current crap
like "...there's no sex in your violence" (actually, I like the
music to that song) is *much* superior to anything Peart has
written. Yeah! After all, the dude's a high school dropout. Who
wants to listen to all that pseudo-intellectual crap. Great,
now I can take all my Rush CDs, tapes, LPs and boots to the range
and I can roast weenies by my Rush shirt bonfire this weekend!
If I get any more pissed off, I just might do the same with all
my DT stuff--- those sellouts! The first to go will be my
autographed DT hat...
Encyclopedia? Please.

DT will be playing live for the national
radio 3. This show will be broadcasted
on friday the 17th from 12:00 -2:00(so
actually it's the 18th).

Attention UK jammers. I now have my copy of Music Meant To Be Heard and
I hereby pronounce the first UK dub site to be...open!
Please E me for details of how to get hold of the dubs and I'll reply as
soon as I can (I'm in Edinburgh next week with no net access so please
bear with me, I'll be back home on 19th). Peter and Matt, I'll bring
you're copies with me on 15th March, if you can wait that long <g>.
It seems that there are only going to be two dub sites covering the whole
of the UK so please be patient with us, we may have a lot of work on our
hands!
As has been mentioned in other posts, please show you're appreciation to
both Jennifer and Kevin for all their hard work and generosity.

the GEPR gives lots of people's opinions about stuff so you can hear
what people think about it and try to make a judgement as to whether
you want to try it or not. there's no rule that says it can only have
good reviews in it. that's not the point of it. nobody told you to get
rid of your stuff, just some people dont like dt and they dont like
rush. just deal with it and stop whining about it. the gepr is a good
source of information (there are more than 2 bands in it...
hundreds..) and its very useful whether some of the reviewers like DT
or not.

Thanks to everyone who contributed information; it's much
appreciated! :) As for Jim Martin, I heard he left because he wasn't
really that much of a part of the band; he would just kinda come in and do
his guitar parts and leave and wasn't really into the world touring
stuff. I don't know; that's just what I heard.
Last night I borrowed a live import FNM disc entitled "Live: at the
Brixton Academy" which was really cool (recorded, I'm assuming, during
the "Real Thing" tour). It included: Falling to Pieces, The Real Thing,
Epic, War Pigs, From Out of Nowhere, We Care a Lot, Zombie Eaters, and Edge
of the World, with two previously unreleased studio tracks: The Grade
(really cool; all acoustic guitar) and The Cowboy Song. Really good
disc!
And on a closing note, I can't wait for the new album! I'm also
going to check out Mr. Bungle ASAP. Thanks again to everyone who
provided info! :)

Dear fellow Ytsejammers!
Most of you know that DREAM THEATER would like to release a
studio-version of their 20-minute song, "A Change of Season"
on an EP to be recorded this spring. So far, ACOS has only been
available as the live version on the "Dance of Eternity" bootleg.
As I understand, it's a record company decision whether to allow them
to do this or not, so I would like to ask you to send me an e-mail in which
you comment on if you want to see a EP with ACOS come out, if you would buy
it, and so on! I will then print all of those e-mails out, compile them in a
folder, and send them to DT's management so that they can present a united
group of voices to the record company to prove that DT has very active and
enthusiastic fans and that we really want to see this happen!

I think it should be good as well if you signed your mail with your full

A friend of mine and I were at a local record store and
saw a Helloween cd called "Chameleon". Neither one of
us had ever heard of it, and he's a big Helloween fan so
he bought it. The copyright date was 1993, but they also

So the reviewer thinks that DT is a notch above pop-rock. All that means
(to me) is that if I like DT, then I will probably not agree with this
reviewer's reviews and that I should move on remember the names of the
people who wrote reviews that I liked.
Also, from what I remember, you can submit your own reviews. If you don't
like a review, submit your own explaining what you like about the album
(or band).
As to Rush, since when has it been a crime to dislike them? Some of the
lyrics really put off people (especially the ones where Peart preaches).
If you're the kind of person who dislikes Rush, then these anti-Rush
reviews will let you know that you can trust these reviewers' reviews.
On the other hand, I don't think you should trust this reviewer if
he says (for example) that the band "Rush Sux" is the hottest band
to walk the face of the earth...

Understatement of the year :)
Most major bands have played the Marquee at one time or another (except for the Beatles--I don't think they played there). The Who, The Rolling Stones, etc., etc., have played there.
Many prog bands have also played there. Twelfth Night's "Live and Let Live" album was recorded there (last concert with Geoff Mann). Dream Theater has a live album there.
Marillion played the Marquee early on in their career. They sold it out many times.
For other examples of Marquee performances, check out the album that was released on the Marquee's anniversary a year (or more) ago. You can also see concerts mentioned in Kerrang! magazine. (I think there might also have been a book as part of the anniversary, but I'm not sure.)
