Yea there is a MEGADETH List.

But be warned it is EXTREMELY Censored as to MegaDeth Content. In other words, if you post something about another band, be prepared to get a nasty warning in the email. The list owner was all up in arms over people mentioning Dave Mustain's early career with MEtallica..why?

Because Mustaine said that he didnt want to have to read that kind of email from the list (he's online..and it turns out that he doesn't even receive the list messages or digest).

So if you like talking Megadeth in the correct form, join.

There has been a lot of discussion lately as to whether or not that's Derek in Alice Cooper's band in the first Wayne's World movie. Why do you guys (and girls) go about it the hard way? Just look at the credits at the end of the show where it lists Alice's band. "Derek Sherinian: Keyboards". Now don't you all feel better? <chuckle> No offense meant by this post but I thought I'd help out. Cheers!

About this whole Ytsejam Convention/Gathering idea:

It's a great idea...but, um...does anyone live nearer to Philly than Long Island?

Sheesh. =) Although, I did nearly get into an accident approaching the Verazzano Bridge at sunrise. What a gorgeous sight. Made me so mad I didn't have my camera.

Anyway...I hope you all didn't mind me sending that note on the Senate bill regarding Internet Censorship. I figured it was important.

    Later...

Yes, it's called "Dream Theater:Live In Tokyo," and I've also seen it titled "Music In Progress."

They did A Tout la Monde also (the end of the show). It sounded album perfect to me. (I think they listened to some Fates when they wrote the dual guitar solo near the end of the song.)

As for DT, probably Surrounded/6:00 (a slightly edited version, perhaps?) or UAGM/LSOAD (although IF might be good here, instead).

Hi Dream Theatre Fans World Wide. This is my first post and I have been reading the Ytsejam articles over the last couple of months. Thanks to all the contributors for the info, the band is a real mystery for most over here in Perth, Western Australia. To give you some indication 'Awake' has just reached the new releases section of our largest CD shop! I have never seen a copy of 'Images and Words' here, but can you believe I saw a copy of the first album on shelf in a small shop yesterday.

Anyway I have been dieing to say I think DT is one of the most exceptional new bands I have heard, with great scope and musical ability. Incidently I love '6.00' and '`Surrounded' to all those past readers who did not look so favourably on the songs (6.00 started me buying the albums). Also to all those persons who have seen DT live or on the TV - your a bunch of lucky dudes.

    Queries:

    1) Is the video of the live album any good? and what material is on it? 2) Where can I order Dream Theatre and Ytsejam T-shirts etc...? 3) The burning question - which bootleg is the best as far as content and clarity by DT, and how can I order one internationally?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a copy of it. You really don't want to see it :) Lots of "is this working?" posts. Many examples of Jason and I appearing to be naive computer users. That sort of thing.

Seriously, if there's a demand, I'll go through the hassle of making the early digests available (I've got them here but it would require a lot of hand editing). I suspect that it would be 6-8 hours of work, so it would take a few weekends...

There are a lot of back issues currently available, but not the earliest ones (because of the work involved). To get a list of what's out there send:

    index ytsejam

to ytsejam-request@arastar.com with a subject of "asdf".

To retrieve a file (like ytsejam #236) send:

    get ytsejam ytsejam.236

to ytsejam-request@arastar.com with a subject of "asdf".
