Has anyone been in touch w/ East West records latly about tour dates? I'd
love to call (can someone give me the phone number?) but I'm not sure that I
can... I'm at work during the day, and although I probably could, I don't
want to call long distance from there... If anyone is in the NYC area and
calls... could you ask about any upcoming Pittsburgh shows (as well as W.
Virginia, Ohio, and PA shows) as well as Boston and New England dates... If
anyone has any info... please post here...

Hi there... since a few people have posted already, I though that I would (although not neatly as complete as my post to SiD)...

Anyway, I saw the QR show in Pgh on the 5th... The show was incredible... especially from my front row seats... ;)

I wore my Ytsejam shirt, and I got a few comments from people about it and DT, including someone telling me that DT is the most technically perfect band... :)

The one major thing that I noticed about QR is that on stage, they are nowhere nearly as "personal" as DT... I have seen both from the front row, and I must say... DT seems to have more eye contact and interaction w/ the audience... When I saw DT, there were times that it really appeared that James and JP were looking right at you... w/ QR... I never really got that feeling, even thought we were just about center stage and DeGarmo was in from of us for most of the show.

Other than that... absolutly perfect show... sound (to me at least) was great... everyone was on that night... set was great (won't get into it for those who havn't seen them yet), and special effects were about the best that I have seen... Anyway... for a complete review, wait for this week's SiD... I also posted a copy of the review from the Pgh newspaper there... -- +----------------------------------------------------+-----------------+ | The way your heart sounds makes all the difference | Dream Theater | | Its what decides if you'll endure the pain that we | Images & Words | | all feel. I recently read the Dream Theater IRC-interview. At the time I was not connected to Internet, and I'm very interested in getting some information about when/if there is gonna be another IRC-type of chat with the guys of DT! Do you know any other way of getting in contact with DT, via e-mail or... Hope you're getting the message, cos I'm not that good at speaking/writing english...:-( I'm really looking forward to an answer to this stupid letter, and I can understand if you're 2 busy or if you just don't have the time to reply...

Carmina Burana! Everybody knows this tune, but nobody knows it's name.

I used to do a radio show called "The Maiden Voyage". I played 1 or 2 Iron Maiden tunes at the top of every hour, followed by DT, QR, FW and the rest of the great proggressive bands. Anyway...

..I used to open my show with a heavy guitar riff and some opening lines followed by Orff's "Carmina Burana". As soon as that ended I'd kick into a Maiden tune usually The Trooper, Die With Your Boots On or The Apparition. It was the greatest intro on the air! Anyway...

..People always called me to ask what that tune was because they new it from Ozzy concerts. See, Ozzy opened a lot of his shows with "Carmin Burana", i.e.The "Tribute" album. Powerful Tune.

Sorry to ramble on, actually I just wanted to see how many times I could say "Carmina Burana" and tune in one message. ;)

    Mike Bahr!

I plead to you to put "Perfect Strangers" with Bruce Dickinson singing on the Acoustic Dreams Compilations. That was the main song that I wanted to have, what with me being a Huge Iron Maiden/Bruce D fan and all.

I would urge people who feel this way to vote in favor of this track being add to the tracklist. I would make a fellow 'jammer very happy. :)

    Thanx in advance.

Hi there... I was ordering some DT boots, and the guy that I am ordering from told me of a new 2CD set called "Mind Control" Now, he told me that it had 2 accoustric songs, and that the rest is from Japan... Anyone have any ideas? I ordered "Wake Up" from him, so I didn't want to order this one also, since Wake Up is a Japanese show...

If anyone has any info... please email me... not only for my sanity... but for me to update the boot discog. The same goes w/ any info on "Unwired" I wanted to order it from the guy, but he didn't have it available... -- +----------------------------------------------------+-----------------+ | The way your heart sounds makes all the difference | Dream Theater | | Its what decides if you'll endure the pain that we | Images & Words | | all feel. Here's my answer:

    >Today's rock trivia questions: > >Pink Floyd's album 'Wish You Were Here' contains the many parted 'Shine on >You Crazy Diamond.' To whom are they referring, and what is the relation >of that person to the band?

The "Crazy Diamond" refers to Sid Barrett who was Pink Floyd's original singer in the Good Old Days! Very interesting stuff if you can find it. So, what did I win? ;)

If you like scary classical music, might I suggest the soundtrack from "Conan the Barbarian?" I know this sounds strange, but a couple of weeks ago I picked it up on a lark, and it's fantastic! (Check out "The Kitchen/The Orgy" and "Riders of Steel/Riddle of Doom") It's composed, conducted, and produced by Basil Poledouris, who also wrote the music for "The Hunt for Red October," among other things. It's on the Varese-Saraband label, and should be available at your local major record store

BTW- Could someone please e-mail me a copy of this groups welcome letter? I explained why I need it in two previous posts, but I've not gotten any response. Thanks!! --------Dan (Potestatem@aol.com) PS- <However, it IS one piece of a triolgy!! I didn't know that! Could you please tell me what the other two parts are? PPS-- The separate parts of Carmina ARE all related. If you are interested in knowing how, please e-mail me directly. (I'm a music major and had to write an essay on the subject)

This is my first time writing to the ytsejam email thing so I hope this works. Any ways, I want to open saying that DT is one of THE MOST AWESOME BANDS (Next to Rush) to ever grace the earth. Their music is great, their lyrics are moving, and is a time when all I can pick up on the local rock stations is Green Day punk BS, It sure does feel good to fly down the highway with "Under a Glass Moon" surging from the CD player. OK. I just wanted to say that anyone reading this who is going to POTSDAM college in upstate NY this year and wants to start a DT/Rush/Queensryche/Fates Warning/etc. type band should get in contact w/ me at ZapcoDT@aol.com . I play guitar. I'm O.K. , I guess. But where I come from there's no one to jam with unless you dig Country.(Ewwwwwwww!) I can play some DT, Rush, Vai, etc. I can read music and keep in time and know some theory and stuff like that. Anyways, If you're at all interested, get in touch!!!!

I'm so freaked out right now it's not even funny. I've been having a dire problem with me having to do all the work when it comes to hitting on guys; I _never_ got approached. Then came tonight. He was _all over_ me. It would have been all fine and dandy, except I didn't feel anything for him. I liked him well enough, and Goddess only knows my body was about to hit the roof, but as far as a mental connection goes - zilch. Nada. I didn't mind at first in the pool hall, getting a great back scratch and being held while waiting our turns (he and a friend ended up joining Wendy and me), but they came up with us to the Strip and we hit the ocean about midnight (this time we were prepared with bathing suits and towels!), and he spent a good amount of time chewing on my neck. He walked me to my door when Wendy dropped me off, and spent a couple minutes kissing me (damn if he didn't get the back of my throat!), and when I went inside, I ended up drinking half a gallon of milk, if that says anything. :{ Wendy, bless her simple soul, didn't realize this (even though I had told her earlier I was scared out of my mind) and reminded us about exchanging phone numbers. I didn't have a pen on hand, so I told him to get it from Wendy, and he said he'd call me soon as he woke up tomorrow. Joy. :( Christ, what have I gotten myself into...?

Anyway. (sorry, I just had to get that off my chest)

    >The Voyage Home was probably my favorite (though it's between >that and Wrath of Khan) one. It's from the beginning where they're >getting ready to leave Vulcan and McCoy is being a wiseass about >Spock not "running on all thrusters" <G>

Wrath of Khan is by far my absolute favoritest Star Trek movie. :) Haven't seen it in eons (although my parents have every single one on tape), but it was always my fave - Ricardo whatshislastname made such a great villain. <G>

    >I hated Generations... I was looking for some great death scene >(after all, folks, this was James T Kirk!! <G>). That death scene >sucked!!

Yeah, we weren't entirely impressed by the end, either, although the concept was interesting enough...
