    YesYears? They all have 'Changes'?

Oh- probably ABWH which has a cat # of 90126. Which brings yet another
trivia question. How does all this relate to DT??

Mosh to Dream Theater? Well, the opening for "The Mirror" is
moshable, but as far as their songs go as a whole, there are simply too
many changes in time/mood (this isn't a bad thing) to be moshable. God
    bless.

I was in a new/used record store tonight and saw a couple CDs by
Marillion. I know a lot of y'all are rather fond of this band, so you
may be able to help. I am relatively unfamiliar with them (I've heard
of them, but haven't HEARD them). My first question - what do they
sound like? I'm not going to ask if they're any good because I know
I'll get a positive response form most of you. I was wondering, though
about the CDs I saw. The title of the first one I saw escapes me, but
it had something to do with the tears of a jester, or something like
that. It was used, and the price on it was about 3 or 4 dollars. The
other CD I saw was a promo disc (w/no cover) for "Brave." it was 3
dollars, I think. Are these two CDs worth it? If I only get one,
which one is better? I am rather short of cash, so I don't want to
waste my money, but good music is certainly worth some cash (and, well,
these two are dirt cheap). Anyway, I digress. Thanks in advance for
    your help. God bless.

    Hey People!
Congratulations on the #900 jam! Let's start planning the 100th
    anniversiry...
Has anyone notice this strange trhing with the Awake CD booklet - on the
back of it (when it's folded) there's a band photo, with the mambers'
names. The name "Petrucci" is all orange, with only the "i" in pure white!
    Weird...
    Take care Ya'll!

    Hi!

David Kuznick asked what was the original name of Yes 90125.

I remember reading an article in Billboard when they announced the reunion
of the new Yes. The album was supposed to come out a year before it
actually did. I recall that it was supposed to be called "80102". I guess
that was the catologue number given to the album at that time.

Is this the answer you're looking for, or did I dream this whole event!

    More non DT content.....

A couple of jammers have recently mentioned Extreme. Does anyone out there
love III Sides To Every Story as much as I do. That CD blows me away!!!!

    Hello Jammers,

I have Rising Power's Power for the People CD for sale $15
(includes shipping). This band features a very young Mike Portnoy on
drums and performs 1980's rock/metal. E-mail me if interested.

    Musical/Lyric worth thread
    --------------------------
If an artist includes lyrics in a song then the are considered
important to the overall sound. Obviously lyrics can improve or detract
from the music. To those who will still listen to CDs that are great
musically with bad lyrics, my point is "Why Bother!" There are lots of
great bands that have good lyrics or no lyrics who are musically
superior, why waste time listening to a band whose lyrics you dislike?

    Later,

    Mike

    Hi everyone,

    Moore news for you. <G>

I spent several hours talking with Kevin in person yesterday evening. :) We
hadn't seen each other face-to-face since the summer of '93, so this reunion
was long overdue, IMO, and it turned out to be quite a wonderful one. :)

Yes, he is working with Mark Zonder on some new demos, but he still has not
signed a record deal as of yet, although one is being considered presently.
He has moved from New Mexico to Los Angeles permanently now. :)

Some of you may be quite alarmed to read this - Kevin is now sporting a
crewcut(!). No, I'm NOT kidding. :)

I asked him if he knew anything about the situation w/Fates Warning & he said
that as far as he knew, the lineup for their next album would be Jim, Mark &
    Ray only.

He recently checked out some of the DT home pages via a relative's Internet
account, so be warned, you ARE under surveillance. ;) Kev has offered to
officially name the home page I'm designing for him _himself_, and he
promised some input & ideas on the construction/layout of the actual page
    also. Whatta guy. :)

One of the more recent questions on this list was, "who wrote the lyrics to
_Don't Look Past Me_?" Yes, it was Kevin. :) He says, however, that just
because he wrote them does not mean that he actually _claims_ those lyrics
    now. ;)

That's all for now. I'll keep you posted. :)

    Take care all,

    Jennifer

Is there a collective name for the Mirror & Lie? There is also a segue
between those two songs. Just wondering.

P.S. JP knows for sure. Please answer JP.

I was listening to the radio the other day and heard a kick ass song that
I had temporaroly forgotten about. "Bohemeon(?) Rapsody" by Queen. DT
must have been influenced by Queen, and having a keyboard player thay
could do a VERY wicked cover of that song. What do you guys think. Maybe
if we say enough times how cool that would be, since JP and possibly
other gods are online, they might do it live and we can get a recording
of it. Listen to the song. It's perfect for them.

    Thanks,
    Noah

P.S. cdconnection.com (telnet) is an ordering service for CDs on-line and
they have a fair number of DT disc that you can't find in the stores. FYI.

Well, I know that some of the clips are out of some of James Joyce's
books. I don't know too much about it, but check out JJ's _Portrait_of_
