I had my ticket in hand and was all psyched to see DT last Friday night
in NJ, when they start ID'ing at the door (it's an 18 and over show).
One of my friends (who was well over 18, and looked it) had no form of
ID, so they wouldn't let him in. We had to sell our tickets and go
home. So does anyone know anything about the show in NY on the 13th?
Specifically where is the club--in the city or in Long Island? Any help
    would be appreciated.

This goes to the Dave that posted a while back asking if there are any
Midwest Dream Theater fans. Yes!!! I am one (if not one of the biggest)
DT fans in this neccatha-woods! I'm from Wichita, Kansas. Where are you
from? Anyway, just wanted to let you know so you would feel left out,
man. You have DT brothers in the great (and very flat) plains.

PS - I think Derek and James should move to the Midwest,
         they'd love all the cows!

Oh My God!! If that is not the best way to put it I don't know what is.
I don't think Dream Theater could have done any better. Before the show
outside I got to meet Echolyn, what a great band, what a great set. The
gutiarist, after explain how sony has the rights to there first couple of
albums, when on to say if I send him some blank tapes he would dub them
for me. WoW!! I went inside and before the first band went on (they
sucked), I got to meet Derek. Wow!! What a great guy. I am the biggest
Kevin fan in the world, but to meet Derek, was great.

Anyway, I know your waiting, so here's the set.
This does not include Derek's Solo or John and Derek's solo.
I can't remember where they go.
And to all who thought they wouldn't play a 2 and a half hour show
                            FUCK YOU

    Mirror

    Change of Seasons
Wait for Sleep --- (Mike Bahr, you where right, it was God)(NO KEYS)

Yes that set was very different but I loved it. What does everybody
    think. Later.

Hey people - I'm back! Again! Not as if anyone missed me. <G> You can
send those five gazillion replies now, AirDance, this time I'll be around
long enough to read 'em! ;)

I heard all about the YtseCon <why is it half a dozen DT fans turn up in
upstate NY AFTER I move out of the state, and I can't find a single one
here in Hampton Roads??> - I really wish I had been there, but I was on a
plane to the other end of the state at the time. :( Next year!!! <G>

While I'm here, I'm still accepting submissions for issue 9 of Metropolis
Watch, but you better move it, because I'm going to start putting it
    together within the week!

    1) Jagermeister: Pronounced: YAY-GRR-MY-STIRR.
Totally bitchin' drink. I have a bottle in the freezer - it's
best very, very cold, and really good mixed with Rumpleminze. =)

    2) Production:
My _only_ gripe with Awake is the noise on the piano intro on
SDV. Other than that, it's nothing short of breathtaking.

    3) Shows:
Would ANYONE who is going to a show remember to do ONE SIMPLE
THING FOR ME? Tell Mike "Hairball Said Yo." That's all I ask. I have a
gig on the 17th. I missed the ytsecon 'cause of work. I'd really
appreciate it. It's not a lot.

    4) Kansas:
I heard part of "Desperate Times" on 102.5 going towards
Bethlehem for that stinkin' wedding on Saturday (gag, I hate weddings). I
didn't even realize it was Kansas. Hmm...I'll probably wait a bit 'till I
    get FoN.

Well, that's it. I have a 10 page paper to write on Classical Film
Theorists. Talk about drudgery. Arnheim should be avoided at all costs.

Yes... thats right... There is now a TicketMaster website... I was
looking over it, and they have some pretty cool stuff... And even better,
are planning on including on-line ticket orders once they "develope" the
security... (don't know why they don't use Netscape's server)...

Sounds like it should be cool once we can order tickets on-line... beats

I'm back again with a small question. Is there someone somewhere in Ytsejam land who can help me to get Ytsejam digest 817. I've tried it several times to ask it with the listmanager and owner but somehow my messages seemed not to come through. Hopefully someone can mail it to me to the below mentioned address. Thank you.

BTW is there a possibility that there would come an Ytsecon in Europe somewhere in the nearer future.

Hi Jammers, First of all I got Subcon the other day, EXCELLENT. A big thank you to Mike for all his hard work. I love Mission Impossible !! I also read in a post from Mike that James hates him, Why ?? Is there a story behind all this that the rest of the jam should know about ?

On a different subject a while ago there was talk about a CD by Paul Gilbert called "A Tribute To Hendrix". Can anyone get hold of a copy for me. I would be willing to trade for anything I can get in the UK (Apparently there will be a 2 CD single set released in July for "The Silent Man"). Has anyone seen any UK tour dates, they were meant to do something like 5 shows at the end of July.

To finish off I vote for DT Unplugged !!!

Alas folks, this is my cinderella post.

My name is Ken Jamison, I have been an EXTREME Dream Theater fan since my audio sensors first beheld the musical emanations of Images and Words. I have been privy to Two live shows and that is what this post is in regards to. On the 22nd of november 1995, we were in attendance of the AWAKE show here in Denver Co. and during the course of the show James mentioned that they would be back around this summer. Can anyone provide me with tour information and/or conformation of a Denver show this year? I would greatly appreciate any info.

Also I would appreciate any correspondance with anyone who can lend me some info towards the acquisition of C.D.'s and/or any other Dream Theater related items.

Feel free to Email me at jamison@kangaroo.mcae.stortek.com

    Thanks !! - Ken

Geez, well I finally got back on the jam after a while - school's finally out for me - so I am PUMPED.

First things first, whoever is waiting for boots from me, I'll have them out within the next two weeks - agfain, sorry for the wait, but better EXTERMELY late than never.... *shrug*...

I'm really pissed that I didn't go to the con and all, but I had a final the Monday after, and I couldn't risk failing another class...oh well...glad everyone had a good time......

now for the show - a brief synopsis, nothing amjor , but if you don't wanna see this, then skip it now......

The show was incredible, blah, blah blah, the opening act was ok, a friend of mine knew the guitarist so we talked to him for a while and all.....

Echolyn was excellent! I have their album, and I really didn't expect the show to sound as good, but it sure as hell did! For some reason, it seemed as though they were "out of place" in the sense that most of the audience didn't seem to get into them (I was on the floor on the left hand side near the bar (thank god for the bar), and they sounded great, even though most of the people seemed to be just sitting around. i guess that happens...oh well

DT was phenomenal......the hi-lights were definitely ACoS (I started pumping my fist to the part that goes "PLEAES DON'T GO", which, by the way, isn't what is said anymore, and John Petrucci gave me this look like (how the hell do you know this song?!) :), the acoustic guitar version of Wait for Sleep was excellent - apparently, Derek can't play it yet - anyway, it was awesome) , the drum solo was primo.......etc.,etc VERY long show....but definitely worth it.

the moshing sucked for the first two or three songs - I was caught right at the brimof the pit, standing there trying to enjoy the songs while keeping moshers from pummeling into my friend, the beautiful female Bush fanatic :P (who says chivalry is dead?) - MY Ytsejam shirt was thoroughly soaked after the first three songs, but I really didn't give a shit.

I met one Ytsejammer - I forget you friggin' name, shit - that moshing musta banged my head up pretty good :P, anyway, didn't really talk to ya much - but he was very kewl, and it was nice to see people that didn't look at you like some kinda freak when you come up to talk to them......

Well that's about it for now.....I know I probably left out a lota stuff, but hey, it was kewl nevertheless......
