Hi!
Guess who hosted last night's Headbangers' Ball on MTV?
Yep, Mike Portnoy did, and he did it well! First off he thanked all
the DT fans for making the tour such a success, he then said that they would
now return to America to: 'record a new EP featuring the infamous A Change
Of Seasons'. So there it is, it's now official, they will do it! He also
said that DT will be back in Europe this summer for some festival-dates,
great news!
He then premiered the video for 'The Silent Man', (MTV misspelled DT the
usual way however). The video was great IMO, some conceptual footage
featuring themes from the Awake-cover, and also the usual band playing,
but I didn't catch Derek anywhere. The whole video reminded me of
videos by that Matt Ma????in-dude. He did 'The Unforgiven' by
Metallica, 'The Day I Tried To Live' by Soundgarden and 'Stick It Out'
by Rush for example, he's one of my favourite video-directors so I'm
pleased with the style of TSM-video.
Obviously DT is hoping for the Extreme/Mr.Big-effect. Both Extreme and
Mr.Big had not been that successful up to the point when they released
acoustic tracks (More Than Words/To Be With You) that weren't very
representative of the rest of their music. Then they had large
mainstream-success, but later they also encountered troubles when trying
to follow up those hits. Hopefully 'The Silent Man' will not attract that
many clueless people, but it will have some impact. What do you think?
Towards the end of the show Mike got really loose and you got the feeling
that he really would fit as a HBB-VJ! He gave us five good reasons why
one should buy the Awake-album. Three of them dealt with the length of
the album (some people find that important) and the added strings of the
bass/guitar. Although the funny ones were:
#4: John and I now have beards, just like your favourite
grunge/thrash-stars!
#1: Kerrang completely ignores the album, so it must be good.
He then went on to say: 'Another band that don't get the recognition they
deserve is my good buddies Fates Warning' :-) and he played the
video for Monument. Great track! I'm now beginning to understand FW, every
time I hear/see FW I feel more and more that this will be one of my
favourite bands in a while!
Oh yeah, he also showed Jet City Woman (Queensryche), from the
performance on MTV's Most Wanted some weeks ago.
He concluded the show with another of his (in)famous Beavis-impersonations,
this time it was the 'Cornholio'-sequence.
Two words: Mike rules!
Ooooops! Another long post!
Take care!
/Mats

Hi, to all of you
First of all I must apology myself:
This is the longest post I've ever written here, but it IS nothing but DT
content !
So I recommend you to read it anyway.
Last night I was watching Headbangers Ball, but there were no Vanessa
(thank God! ), instead it was hosted by a Mr Portnoy ! Can you believe that
! I guess eMpTyV doesn't suck, after all.
He was very happy to introduce DTs new Video: the Silent Man . He also
informed us that he was the one who had directed it, and he was really
proud of it too.
The video was quite nicely done. It gave the song the same kind of mood,
that you get when you "only" are listening to it.
The video is half a story-telling one, and half a ordinary band-video ( i
e: the band sits and play the song, no live-ish performance).
In the story-part a elderly man walks around in the countryside carrying
a big mirror ( Perhaps this explaines the mirror on the T-shirts,
CD-cover.) The whole video is in Black-and-White, except for the images
from the mirror, which have very bright and clear color.
In the beginning of the video he sees himself in the mirror, but later on
the image get younger, and are finally a young ( 30 year-ish ) man.
In the end of the song after the line " It 'd be better if I swim", the
mirror cracks, and the rest of the video is in full color, even the
band-part.
Then the younger man from the mirror comes out in real life, and walks
around, but he and the older man never meets ( this may be explained by the
fact that they are from two different times, some sort of time-warp-thing
). This is about all, the songs end shortly after that, as you surely know.
One thing that bothered me is that there is no Derek in the band-video. He
is after all a proper band-member, at least now. I guess he wasn't when
they made the video. But it would have been nice to get a glimpse of him, I
think.
Portnoy also replaced the "triple Trash treat" with " Triple Theater Treat
". A very cool thing. He said that he as a host got some right to
decide(sp?) what to play.
It contented 3 of DTs tour-partners:
* I Mother Earth - Rain will Fall
I liked this one, it was cool, and a bit different then the most of the
music ( metal ) of HBB. I know most of you Americanos dispite them after
seeing them earlier this tour, but at least this song, made me want to
check them out a bit more.
* Galactic Cowboys - if I were a Killer
After buying their first album, I expected something better. This was
nothing special to me, none of that cool harmony-vocals, that is a GC
trademark.
* Damn The Machine - the Mission
One of Mike's fav. band, and quite good. But not really my cup of tea.
He later on also played another of DTs tour-band:
* Fates Warning - Monument
This is a very good song, I must say. This is without a doubt the best song
on InsideOut. Made me glad seeing the band again, it was only a month ago I
saw them here in Stockholm. Still I'm no big FW-fan, so I guess most of the
excitement is due to the fact that DT hit the stage only some minutes after
this song. :-)>
Portnoy said that FW was a band he had loved a long time, and grown up
with. And that they had influenced him a lot ( but that, we all knew,
didn't we ?) He also said that he figured that he had spent more time in
their tour-bus , instead of DTs, and that says something about the
relations with FW.
Portnoy also explained that they now had finished the tour, and should take
a break, but the would also go back to the recording-studio, and make a
Change of Season ( finally! ). He didn't say when it might be out or
something, but that one is really "asked for".
Hopefully this version will be a bit different from those on bootlegs,
because I think otherwise it would be a dissappointment. We are involved
with a band that knows how to develop, and seeking progress ! The song is
by the way some years old, anyway. I personally doubted that we ever were
going to see that song released by DT.
Since it now is a bit old, and they don't really like playing old songs.
I've never heard any Majesty, only some of you have, and they didn't play
any WDADU on this leg. This could perhaps be because of the
label-permission. Mechanic won't sell the rights for WDADU ! ( And I can
see why ).
Late on the show Portnoy stated out 5 point why to buy AWAKE, in true
DavidLetterman-style. Of course this won't consider us, because we all have
the album, but still:
*5 It contains 75 minutes of music, the maximum you can fit into a CD.
Imagine all the beers you can drink in that time! (?)
*4 Both JP and MP were bears, just like your fav. grunge-star
*3 7 strings of a guitar is better than 6
*2 6 strings of the bass is better than 4
*1 Kerrang! put no notice on the album, so it must be good
This list was kinda cool, I think. In fact the whole show was. Portnoy is
really a nice and OPEN person. He also did an interview with Terrorvision,
but talked most of the interview himself, but that's the way we know him,
isn't it.
Next week Vanessa will be back, main contence: SkidRow, so I will probably
sleep, instead.
Mike also thanked all of us fans that went out to see them here in Europe,
and said HI to all of us; everyone: say HI back, now !( great). He also
added that DT had their hardest time in UK, the CD didn't sell that much
and the people were not that overwhelmed, but I now there are some
Exceptions in England !
That was about everything he said, the show is after all only 150min. Glad
you read all of this, hope you liked it too. Now I'd better go home and
study for my final test, but this seemed in someway more important, and a
great deal more fun.

complaining about send $16 to and not receiving anything?
BTW - e-mail me if you are interested in any dt boots or singles and

Believer - those guys on R.E.X. records? Ever heard of a band called SACRAMENT? Same label? Went to high school with the bassist.
Actually, come to think of it, I have an autographed set list from Believer from AGES ago. I don't know who signed it, 'cos I never got into them, but, I figured, eh, why not?

In-Reply-To: <Pine.SUN.3.91.950316134803.15650B-100000@ashby> Confusion reigns! Can anyone tell me what the situation is with DT's new single. According to posts I've seen on this list, some of you have the 'UK' release of Silent Man. However, according to my friendly neighbourhood music store, this single has yet to be released. To confuse things even further, last Wednesday at the gig, James announced Caught In A Web as "the second single". What is going on?! I'm dying to get my hands on the studio version of Eve, it's such a beautiful piece of music.
Question two... I'm gonna be in San Francisco for a few days in October (YES!), can any of you West Coast 'jammers recommend any decent music stores for, ahem, 'rare recordings' :) Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi again, 'Jammers. I seem to have developed a habit of lurking for 20 issues or so, then storing up a few comments and putting them into a single post. Anyway, here's another one:
1. To the guy who posted the negative message about DT: you suck.
2. I have to disagree with the guy who dislikes Journey during the Steve Perry years. I think Steve is a great singer - but he needs Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain to bring out his best - his two solo albums since the Journey break-up have been pretty marginal - way to "pop" for me. Anyway, I'll have to also confess to being an 80's music fan. I went to high school and college during the 80's so I have a right to! My 80's tastes include : Journey, REO Speedwagon, Loverboy, Styx, Foreigner, etc.
3. Thanks to all the European 'Jammers for the concert reports. It's cool to see how they've changed their show since the US tour.
4. I heard some Anacrusis for the first time the other day (Thanks Jason). They're great! Looks like I'll be buying one of their CDs. Can anybody give me some recommended titles? I also heard some Echolyn for the first time. They're also great (though not as heavy).
5. Does anybody know of a good source for the Lie single? I can't find it anywhere. BTW, I live in the Washington DC area.
Later.

Yes, I have their dics, too. I agree that his work was pretty impressive, but I am not a much of a fan of theirs as I am of Asia. I still remember "When the Heart Rules The Mind' for the first time, though.

Agreed wholeheartedly. See my previous comments.

Yes, on the first couple of Asia albums, it says produce by Mike Stone for Mike Stone Enterprises or something like that. Downes later helped produce some others as well.
> Well, hey - Wetton & Howe were at each others throats. They > couldn't stand each other, so, that's why Lake came into the band. Howe > left when Wetton was convinced to come back, and he did the same when > Howe came in for Aqua.
Does anybody ever notice that things like this seem to be pretty commen in the rock world? Band members eventually cannot stand each other so much that they absolutely refuse to play together. As a fan, it is disappointing, but real life circumstances like the direction the band is going etc. must be taken into account.
> > And, I personally LOVE Astra. True, many songs are very > depressing lyrically, but, it's a very good, often overlooked album.
I like Astra alot, as well. The lyrics are extremely depressing, in my opinion, but I think it is an excellent album.

Let me clarify: I didn't mean that Alpha was bad, or that I didn't like it. I just meant that after I first listened to it, I was disappointed. As i began listening more and more I have grown to love it. All I meant by the previous comment was that it didn't really have any songs that might have become 'hits.' This is not to say that I didn't like it at all, just that it seems that they were intent on producing an album in a very short amount of time (read the comments on the box it comes in, and on the back of the disc about Asia being the 1982 success story). I think of myself as Asia's #1 fan, but I am glad to hear that I am not alone. :)
> been in love with since I first laid eyes on her, MARTHA QUINN! =)
Oh yes. She was a little before my time, but I most definitely agree.
> *Then and Now* It covered their previous hits and a couple of new ones. > The lineup for that remained as Wetton, Downes and Palmer. I wasn't too > impressed with it. I have recently seen Aqua on sale but for the most part,
There are a few songs on that album which I dont like, but ou have to admit that Days Like These (the song that got Asia its most airplay since Heat of The Moment) is a good one. Truthfully, Prayin' For a Mircle is my favorite on that one...

Someone requested this so here it is. BWAHAHAHAHHAH!!!!!!
Pull My Finger (lyrics by Shane Carey, music by Dream Theater, catering by Meatloaf)
Crust of a pie filled with apples and cinnamon Sugar high Drool and juice running down my chin
Three kinds of beef and bologna A whole bowl of cheese rigatoni and Every dish gets cleaned off real fast Every meal as if it could be my last
Watch th' pictures falling As I thunder down the hall I'm on way down to the mall to grab a milkshake I'll gain seven pounds from one Bite of that luscious honey-bun And what th' hell, I'll wash it all down with some chocolate cake
French toast with butter and jelly It all goes to my butt or my belly and Every dish gets cleaned off real fast Every bite, though, is sure to give me gas
Pull my finger, Pull my finger, Pull my finger, don't be afraid I ate so many tacos last night My gut is feeling hot and tight
Dust fills my eyes Powdered sugar flies everywhere Cookie crumbs fly On th' carpet and in my hair
Fix me a pot of spaghetti I ate up the last one already I'll die within th' year at this rate They'll have to bury me in a piano crate
Pull my finger, Pull my finger, Pull my finger, don't be afraid Tentmakers don't make pant in my size No one I know has bigger thighs
(oh that I could win my weight in french fries)

Well, I don't believe it, but I actually heard Caught In a Web here on KRNA (94.1) in Iowa City, Iowa! I _never_ heard them play Lie, so go figure. Well, it was on their "battle of the new rock 'n' roll" thing, and DT won. I can't remember who they were up against, but it was someone I'd never heard of before.
If there _is_ anyone else on here from the eastern Iowa area, make sure you try and vote for it tomorrow around 9pm-ish (319- 337- 2222); the winner always comes back the next night, or at least until they win 5 in a row. I'm hoping that DT gets a few more nights before they decide to trash it and put it up against Pearl Jam or STP or some other obvious college favorite (it _is_ a college town).
BTW: anyone else heard CIAW on the radio?

Recurring theme #1: Someone asked and a couple digests went by with no answers to this one:
The flaming heart is not a DT invention. It is a universal symbol for the sacred heart of Jesus. It's a very Catholic symbol. I never even knew that until I saw the DT version, and I'm a seminary student! (Protestant, however -the symbol isn't very prevalent in the Lutheran church)
I happen to like the artist's rendition that DT uses more than any other I've seen.
But to those who want to fight over issues with Christianity and influences and DT, remember, a symbol can be just that -a symbol, and the band has made this clear from what I have read -.
Recurring theme #2: I am relatively new to the list - so let me know if this has been discussed a million and two times - but concerning Metropolis, anyone out there familiar with the book and movie by the same name? It was a silent film, then in the 70's someone tinted it (not colorized) and added a metal soundtrack with bands I can't remmebr now. I think Queen was involved. Anyway - the themes in the book and movie seem like they could be the inspiration for some of Metropolis by DT - is this old hat to you all? BTW - this movie was also the inspiration for Madonna's express yourself video. Possibly the only connection one could ever make between Madonna and DT.
PEACE Andy

Couple of quick things here--first, this talk about where to get tabs of songs. I specifically asked JP at the KC concert how the songbooks were coming along, when they would be out. He said "we are going to put out BOTH I&W AND AWAKE and they should be in the stores early in the year." Cool, huh!
Also, anybody have the old Pantera "Cowboys from Hell" album? Well, dust it off and check out track 6 "Domination". Go to the 3:50 mark and see if it reminds you of anything...! Just thought it was kinda cool.

Speaking of worst openers, a local band called "Pushmonkey" opened up for FW and DT when they came to Houston last month. There were obviously a few local Pushmonkey fans in the crowd trying to incite everyone to get excited, but hip-hop-type funk just doesn't do it for me. Definitely the worst opener I've ever seen.
Then again, with a name like "I Mother Earth", high hopes aren't expected there either....

Hi!
I've finally got the date for DT's gig in Stockholm, Sweden.
It's Feb 20th 1995 at Cirkus!
The tickets will be available from mid-Jan. Cirkus is a great venue IMO, takes up to 2000 people I think and the athmosphere is cool, it's an old theater-sort-of. But hey, this is not all! You know what happens the 26th of Feb, same place?
Queensryche
Those tickets will probably go on sale around the same time as the DT-tix. This means that I get to see DT and QR in less than a weeks time!!! Well, the DT/QR-tour didn't happen but I guess that this is as good! :-/)
I'm sooooo happy!!!!!

If any of you Ytsejammers out there plan on going but don't have dinner reservations yet E-mail me and I'll try to add you on to mine (we're like second or third on the list). We did the same thing for the DT show, started with four people, ended up with nine. So, if this sounds good to you, let me know. If you don't have tickets yet, you can buy them at Ticketmaster and then add on to dinner later.

What's so funny is that alternative "grunge" is on its way out, according to the trend-fuhrers, and "ska" is on its way in. "Ska", as far as I can tell, is a style of music where bands who can't play an instrument to save their fucking LIFE go on stage and wail as fast and as loud as they can, atonally, simplistically, and monotonously. The early manifestations of "ska" are Green Day, NOFX, Operation Ivy, and Hole.
So get your camcorders out and tape your moron friends sitting there singing along to Pearl Scam and the Stoned Temple Pilots, and in two years when they are "heavy, totally-into-it" ska-fanatics (oh, the bandwagon lemmings that they are) you can show them proof that their opinion in music isn't worth shit!
Naturally, I am optomistic about ska coming in. Why? Because its last manifestation was from 1977-1980, and then a really FUN time in Rock came about, the heavy-metal-glam-shred period. Granted, some of the "glam" aspect of it was pretty cheesy, but the MUSIC was FUN. Kiss, Ozzy, Motley Crue, Van Halen (moreso than today), Dokken, etc. I would HOPE that the bands that follow that trend when ska fades out and glam fades back into trendiness, would be better.
And best of all, what followed glam? PROG ROCK!!! 1987-1990 were the best years for Prog, when Satriani, Vai, Lynch, Beach, McAlpine, and all the crew were doing guitar-virtuoso albums. Also you might notice Dream Theater's first album came out then. I predict that Dream Theater will be living legends if Prog comes back, which based on the current dating, should be sometime in 2001-2005. Enjoy them now, meet them now, support them now, so you truly CAN claim to have done so when the whole world decides pay attention to 'em.
Grunge. Hah. Its highlights were "Even Flow", "Wicked Garden", the Heart cover of "Battle of Evermore", and "Outshined".
Ska. HAH!!!! I'll be laughing about this one for a looooong time. It's not too tough to do a B5-A5-E5 "blang" pattern while singing "Butt'n mah lips and close meeeeye eyez! Take me ah-WHEY to paaair o' dice!" Crap, I thought the Stones wore out 3-chord sellout-rock.
The return of glam will be fun, and then the REAL good time will begin for us fans of Rush (who will be like Gods) and Dream Theater.

I didn't mind I Mother Earth that much. Their jams were pretty cool.
Who all (on the east coast at least), remembers any of the shows on the last tour where N.M.E. Opened? They were *baaaaaaaaad*. I don't think even Firehouse opening for Tesla (which me & my roommate walked through the Patriot Center hallways through until they finished.) was better.... Excuse my French, but how can you fucking say that? Granted, they weren't the best band I've ever heard, but they could lock into a groove bigger than life. Yeah, some of the jams went on a little long. And that percussionist was really fun to watch. Too bad you didn't enjoy it - you'll probably never hear Latin-flavored metal again.

>PROFILE: DREAM THEATER
Dream Theater Lineup: James LaBrie, vocals; John Petrucci, guitar; John Myung, bass; Mike Portnoy, drums Label: East West Records America Producers: Duane Baron and John Prudell Album: "Awake" First single: "Lie"
James LaBrie talks about:
First tour: "We did 194 shows in 127 cities and 17 countries. We sold out more than one show in a lot of towns when we toured with our debut album, "Images and Words."
Being the frontman: "I've never studied theater but I took some jazz dancing around the age of 20 years about the same time I was studying opera. I studied opera for four and one half years with Rosemary Patricia Burns who's an incredible teacher and singer herself. I studied "The Mask" which is the Italian way of teaching for the voice. Funny you mention acting because my manager wants to get me into some roles. We'll see. I don't want to just be a walk on. If I was ever going to approach acting I'd want to do something a little classier in a movie. There is this preconceived notion of rock and roller guys who got into movies..just give them a word and they won't screw up."
Signing with East West: "Derek Oliver got us signed and he's our father. He's good ole' Pops. We're playing New York tonight and a ton of people are coming to see us. Lucy Sabini has done incredible things for us too." The recording: "Actually it was eight weeks of recording and then two to three weeks of mixing and mastering. "Images and Words" was recorded, mixed and mastered in eight or nine weeks. Words was only 59 minutes and our new album is 75 minutes long."
Producers: "We all thought that with the new album we'd move on to some new producers. We took our time in deciding who we thought would be best for us. We wanted to get some guys with a track record that sonically could give us a really heavy sound and that's definitely noticable on "Awake". We wrote with the harder sound in mind, more edgy and more agressive. As well, we kept in the classical, jazzy feel which is Dream Theater's signature. What I did differently is the way I've always sung but on "Images" I sang totally clean. I wanted to bring back some of the way I've always sung even before Dream Theater and that is more dimension to the voice. I'm singing low, singing really high, singing clean and raspy which adds more character. There's a lot more character to the voice when you listen to it for the listener."
First record with a trained sounding voice: "I started singing when I was five and I had a teacher through elementary school with me. My father had me singing in a barber shop quartet when I was 12 and 13. My father has a beautiful voice. Throughout my teens I was in rock and roll bands and then at the age of 20 I studied opera. When people listen to this album they really hear the diminsion of my voice. In fact I've been asked if I sing on all the songs on this album. Emotionally the communication comes through really well what I'm feeling inside."
"The Mirror": "When we play this song live people go nuts. When John comes in with the guitar the audience is really with us. The tune is really energetic and raw and people soak it in. I know our next single is "Caught In The Web."
"Caught in the Web": "I really dig this tune. I came up with the concept lyrically and I wrote most of it. John Petrucci came in and wrote the chorus section. If I thought something was weak lyrically I'd speak up but melodically I partook in every song. What I do which is the job of any vocalist is to sit down with the lyricist and have him tell me in very few words what he's getting at on the song even though I generally have a pretty good understanding myself. I always want to hear from the horses mouth and then what I'll do is take that in and sit with it so when it's time for me to really sing that song I can really interpret for the listener even if they didn't understand every word. The listener can still feel it in some sense through the voice. I think that is very important for the vocalist to do that. That's their job."
Length of the songs: "One of the most gratifying things is when I do "Bump in the Sand" or "At The Shore" around shows or just walking through malls is that fans come up and say things like 'I read the lyrics to such and such a song and it was incredible to read and it made me feel so much more in tune with the world or myself. To read it from someone else who was thinking what I'm thinking really makes me feel comfortable.' The fact that we've touched something for them and made them feel better of themselves really is the best compliment in the world." Lyrics: "I think people are paying more attention to lyrics. I think for the most part the industry doesn't give people enough credit. People have to be treated more or less on a cerebral sense. I believe people are being dictated to by shallow lyrical content. There's nothing wrong with that but a lot more people out there especially with the way the world is going is that want something more meaningful said and more realistic.
There's a lot of room for the fun lyrics but I think especially with a band like us it's more on a serious note. We don't want everything taken literally either because then you're missing the gest of the music. It's supposed to be taking you away on a plain of your own so that you can get away from everything."
"A Mind Beside Itself": "That's the trilogy. It's a 20 minute, three song triligy featuring an opening instrumental. We slowly composed it to the point where it is now. What we did, the way we write a lot of our music is in a rehearsal studio and jammed it out. We have a tape running all the time so if we land onto a cool groove or cool section then we take it step by step and build onto until we get to the point where we've completed the idea or message. It takes time. It's was trial and error. For the most part, I've got to tell you that on this album we had so many ideas going on inside each guy individually and then as a band just getting together. We were so ready to go to write new stuff that the excitement and electricity was there just to lend itself to writing. Everything was written before we got together with the producers."
"Voices": "Cultural Revolution is Prix-mo's band. We were working at Devonshire Studios and I had finished my vocal tracks. There's this section that really called for a low, deep, resonant voice so we asked one of the assistant engineers if he knew anyone and he told us about Prix-mo. We had the words written down and he came in and narrated the section in time with the music. He was great we had to give him credit."
Kevin Moore: "He played an important part on this album. He's an incredibly talented person. We saw it coming for a while. We didn't really want to admit it. In retrospect we look back and when we talk now we knew there was something there that wasn't right. For maybe six months Kevin was going in a different direction. His musical direction was very much different from ours. We were more and more separated in our ideas to the point that it was obvious that he had to move on with his stuff. We needed to find someone who was more understanding and in synch with where we're going musically. We're all still great friends and we wish him the best. I talked to him recently and he's doing great. He's in Santa Fe writing music. It's all for the best when you have any negativity within a band sooner or later if it's around long enough it starts to pull everyone else down. We have Derek Sherinian touring with us now and he's a very talented keyboardist. He studied at Berkley School of Music as well and he's working out great. We haven't decided if he'll become a full member or not but we're going to have a keyboard player for a member. Everything is pointing in that direction. Six months down the road after touring that much longer if we still feel the same then he'll then become the new member of Dream Theater."
Stage show: "It's pretty impressive. The lighting and visual aspects of the show are very stimulating as well as the audio which is most important for us."
Favorite track: "My favorite song is "Scarred." I really get to express myself on this one."
The cover: "Once again we all sat down and started thinking conceptually of what we could put into the artist end of things that would lend itself to explaining the album lyrically and musically. It all says "Awake!"
Touring: "It's really going to be great coming through all these different territories and playing new material as well as from "Images and Words." So far the response had been incredible. This new material really lends itself to a lot of energy and excitement off stage. It's really exciting. We're out with a Canadian band called I Mother Earth and they're great. I don't mind supporting my Canadian brothers at all. Half way through the tour we'll pick up Fates Warning for the rest of the tour beginning November 10 in St. Louis.">
