Ok. I think I would like to join this 2-4 guitarists to check out
the tabs. So, if you tell me where I can get the tabs that are to be
checked, I will try my best to get as close to the song as possible.

    Bye.

    >Is Daylight any good? Is it good enough for an Asia fanatic to go buy >the cassette? (tough question, I understand)

    >BFS

Very tough question! I'd expect that by now you might be able to pick the tape up cheap somewhere? Note though that there *IS* a CD of Alpha that DOES have the Daylight track. I bought it quite by accident in a way, since the Daylight track IS NOT LISTED ON THE CD COVER! It says 10 tracks, but there are 11. Daylight's a bonus! The Barcode ID for this particular CD is 0-08811-90532 if anybody is interested.

As for whether it's a good track: Alpha was my first Asia album, and it's very much in that style, hence I think it's very much worth getting.

    Good luck,

    Stuart. --

    ---------------- | Boring Rules | ----------------

These are the taping policies that I use. I expect you to do the same. :)

    Trading:

When I trade, I use Maxell XLII 90/100, TDK SA 90/100, or Sony UX II 90/100 min tapes. These are all good CrO2 Type II tapes. I use whatever length best fits the CD or tape (also depends on what I have). I prefer to use Maxell XLII tapes, and have been using them almost exclusively.

    Tracklists:

I always _try_ to provide tracklists for my tapes. I am not always sure about them. I also will provide the tracklist that I was provided if I am not sure about songs. So if they were incorrect, I can't make corrections.

    Purchasing Tapes:

I will not sell tapes... just can't do it... If you have nothing to trade, I will trade if you send blank tapes, and return postage. I normally will accept 2 blank tapes for every one that you want. Keep 1, return one. If you send tapes, they MUST be Maxell XL-II 90 or 100 min tapes.

Hello, everybody. Has anyone out there picked up the new Death album "Symbolic"? I purchased it over the weekend and it's got some really complex stuff. I'd recommend it to anybody that's into heavy technical guitar music. The only problem that people may have is getting past the growled vocals. Sorry for non-DT content.

AGAIN EVERYONE THIS IS NOT WRITTEN IN MY BLOOD - I CANNOT CONFIRM ANYTHING UNTIL DT'S MANAGEMENT GIVES ME THE GO-AHEAD TO DO SO. MANAGEMENT IS VERY INTERESTED IN DOING THIS, THEY FEEL THAT EARLY JUNE IS GOOD FOR THE BAND, BUT I CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL THEY TELL ME SO. JUST HANG IN THERE! :) -BABS

    Concerning Echolyn:

There isn't any doubt in my mind that Echolyn is a MEGA-talented band. My problem with them is that I think maybe they're *too* talented<?>...*too* progressive<?>. I don't know. I think that because they are so progressive, that a *great* deal of the emotional aspect of their songwriting is lost. No, I'm not one of those "feel-over-technique" guys, but I really don't get much out of their music. Let me explain: all the "music guys" out there know that one of the main ingredients of music is "tension and resolution." It seems to me that the guys in Echolyn don't do enough of this. You know how if you play a bunch of minor chords, then play a major that even though major is "stable," the sonorities of the major will clash against that of the minor, because the minor, if repeated, becomes comfortable to your ears. The same is true for rhythms. Like I always say: you have to have 4/4 in order to appreciate 9/8. And that's what Echolyn lacks, I think. Once one of them was saying how James LaBrie was too "over the top." Well, I don't feel any kind of attatchment between the singer and the lyrics. And another thing is, if you use too many close harmonies, you tend to lose the real melody. I don't know. If you like jazz and prog rock, Echolyn is for you. If you like metal and prog metal, Echolyn is probably not. Not better or worse, just *different*. My $.02,

I always find it easier to use cruse control while driving and listening to DT. One can improve the double bass technique, and avoid tickets....

I'm not exactly an expert on this stuff, but here goes.

If you get this, count me as a DT subscriber.

    Hello all!

I just wanted to inform the millions (O.K., DOZENS) of people who are getting the Petrucci video from me that I have a lot to do, so PLEASE BE PATIENT!!! I promise I'm not gonna scam anybody, so don't worry (most of you have my address anyway, so you could conceivably track me down!) It's tough being an extremely busy college student, and I'm dupping them as fast as I can, and sending them out in the order which I received the requests. Please don't be too disappointed at the quality of the recording. . . it IS a handicam, and I was pretty far away in the auditorium audience. The audio is perfect, though, and the auto-focus is a little screwy in the beginning. Overall, a B/B+.

I guess that's it. Thanks for all the responses, jammers, and I'll see you all at the convention in June. . . (hopefully).
