I think the problem you may be having is that your address isn't
accepting messages for whatever reason. Personally, I have tried three
times, but they have all been returned to me as undeliverable mail. So
if you are reading this, please send me ordering info for all three cd's.

I can't believe i'm reading this! Tea Party is one of my fave bands!
I've seen them live 3 times, and they are incredible! (not as good
as DT, but close :) ).
while i wouldn't call them progressive, there are definitely prog elements
in their music. they mix a Doors sound with Led Zep, and some middle
eastern/indian sounds. they are excellent musicians (they're a trio),
    and have lots of energy.

their first album, splendor solis, is probably slightely better than
the new one, although i love both.

Anyone know the tour dates for DT in the US? I live in NJ and was wondering
if they'd be coming around here (or in Philly, NYC, or somewhere close to
    here).

If you're into hip-hop metal, or metal with a Beastie-Boys-ish sound,
try out my friends' band Mutha's Day Out. Their album MY SOUL IS WET
should be fairly easily obtainable (it's on Chrysalis) and I think
it's a great debut CD. (Sure I'm a bit biased, but considering the
bassist was 15 and the drummer and guitarist were 17 at the time, it's
a GREAT album. :)) They've been on MTV's Headbangers Ball, so
you may have seen or heard 'em. Fun to hang out with, as we
    oh-so-richly discovered. heh

I just found out that Echolyn will be doing a chat forum in less than one hour from the time I'm posting my message. 9:00 p.m. Wednesday is when it starts. The telnet address is: ewi.ewi.org on channel: #echolyn. Sorry I couldn't do this sooner, but for the few of you that don't get this in digest form, here's your chance!

sorry again, but I just found out and hopefully someone will see this before the forum,

I'm a bass player. I started on a Yamaha BB300 P-Bass copy which I still have (slightly modified). I put a Warmouth birds-eye maple neck on it, a D-Tuner (like Sheehan) and Barolini passive J-Bass pickups. It sounds great, weighs a ton. I had an Ibanez 4 string w/whammy then an Ibanez 5-string. Got rid of both years ago and now have a new Carvin 5 string which is awesome.

    Hello, everyone!

I have a favor to ask of some of you... If you have a Web page with a list of dub sites for the Kevin Moore demos, please contact Jennifer (Air Dance) for an updated version. Recently, I have started receiving demo requests off and on, and it was puzzling me because back in March I posted to both AOL and the 'Jam to say that I had officially closed my site...and I asked Jennifer to remove me from her list. She did verify that my address has been off her list for some time, but added that she knows some people have site lists on their Web pages - although not necessarily the most recent list. I'm not opposed to trades in general, but I think I've done my fair share of the demo dubs (I have many happy customers to vouch for this <g>). Thanks! :)

I did not mean to imply that one cannot talk about Type O Negative - I meant to say it's difficult to talk *over* Type O! :/ Whoops!

Actually, I was surprised at how catchy Type O's setlist was. I have "Bloody Kisses," and I can understand how it is tough for some people to appreciate this band. A lot of people seemed to be really grooving to them...

Now, back to your regularly schedule Ytsejam...

Oh, was that a great show or what? I'd never seen QR live before... and was I impressed? Damn right! I had the feeling I was at a theatrical performance more than a concert.

Jen, there were quite a few DT shirts at the Los Angeles concert as well (I was wearing one of them :) )

Um, the reason that PMU fades out on the radio is because it was edited. There's lots of stuff missing from it.

Still, it's no where NEAR as bad as the TTT edit. God, I CRINGED at every cut they made in the song...

But, hey - as I overheard JP saying, "We figured we'd go ahead and release the edits, because people who were interested in that would go out, buy it, and hear it in it's original form."

Okay, that's NOT a complete, direct quote, but, I was trying to listen to him, and my roommate and James. I saved my roommate from putting his foot in his mouth while talking to James - seems my buddy was unaware that C.D. was in the band...hehe...

After the show at the car. It seems that they were about 4 "rows" back from the stage. Our friend Cassandra found us just after you left and led us up toward the front where we found Jarrod and Co. Then she came back (finding us again in the midst of madness) and said she found Bob and Brian (who said he saw you).

So that makes, including Keith, 2 'jammers and 8 die-hard DT fans that we talked to at the show.

    > I was amazed at the number of Dream Theater concert tees at the show > (personally, I think they outnumbered Van Halen!) It was excellent talking to DT fans before the show. We went to Concord last night where I got 1 comment in passing and a dirty look when I smiled and nodded at the dude. Saw a few other shirts, but didn't talk to anybody. The crowd at Concord was noticably less-excitable (except for Tim and me!) although the sound was a little cleaner. Also (but it could be my imagination), the jam at the end of Eyes of a Stranger was better. > What I'm wondering is how common is the DT shirt phenomenon? I honestly > didn't expect to see so many! Yet it was a *pleasant* surprise. :) > > Needless to say, the show was AWESOME!

Indeed! But I was dissapointed at the lack of attendance (like I was at the last 'Scorps show). The Mindcrime set was, by far, the best part of the show. I'm glad they did a full band version of The Killing Words. > I know the guys (James, John P., John M., Mike, and Derek) are surely capable > of it... but would the band ever do as visual a show as 'Ryche? Well, I'm at work now, listening to the San Jose show that's being broadcast nationally just 10 miles from where I sit. SID!!!!!! I can just visualize that vampire Geoff right now... Too bad at least one of the shows wasn't on a weekend, then I could've seen tonight's show. It sure sounds clean, if only I were there.....

I downloaded an image as a bmp and made some modifications using paintbrush to use as wallpaper, etc. I also want to use it on a homepage, but can't get it to display when the page is selected. I tried to make it a .gif then load the page but it still didn't work. What am I doing wrong. Id really like to use this .bmp on this homepage, so any help on how to convert it or a way to get it to load as is would be appreciated. You can respond via e-mail rather than the list, unless someone else wants to know... Sorry for the lack of DT content, but when I saw screen savers being discussed, I figured I'd go ahead and ask... thanks, -greg

Seems as if my last post bounced, so here is it again:

Hi you german/(french?) jammers! As Tim already mentioned, it seems as there will be at least one concert with DT as headliners in germany !! This concert will take place on 6/28/95 here in the Kulturfabrik, Saarbruecken, Germany. This isn't really a concert hall, it's more like a local techno temple, not too big (1500 people, I guess, so perhaps there is a good chance to meet the band!!). I don`t even know if there's a support act, probably a local band. It seems as if the guys (or should I say gods, Rob? ;-) don't want to spend their free time between their "Rock over germany" gigs to boring sightseeing trips ;-) Ticket sales will start next week. As this concert seems to be their only headlining appearance in Europe yet (Any other dates, german jammerz?) and is not part of a tour or something (you could call it a "special gig", perhaps a result of the great resonance they got from german DT fans (Hallo to all of them!), I don't know if there are Tickets available outside the Saarland. So, if you are interested in tickets, email me privately and I will give you the info you need to get your ticket. (Jason, perhaps you can make the 600 km from Hamburg?)

    So long, see you there!

P.S.: I just picked up the debut CD of an excellent italian, DTish prog metal band called "Evil Wings". Really weird, extreme fast breaks and instrumental parts (reminds me of early german "Sieges Even"), but also songs with a lot of emotion and cool keys. Check 'em out!.

Hey people! Here in Israel, most of the people who are into DT are musicians, especialy guitarists (wonder why). But still it is not as big as other progressive metal acts. Here in Israel we have very little radio airing of hard rock music, so we usualy tune into Headbangers' Ball! BTW, are there any other Israeli (or jewish) people subscribed to the YTSEJAM out there? Just curious... Aviad.

    Hi Folks !

I'm getting quite jelous at you all, since you are able to catch up on the DT-summer tour. I'm leaving Sweden in a couple of weeks for Argentina!

By the way: Do any of you know if DT are getting down to South-America as well? I strongly doubt that, but that would make me extremely glad. Please let me know, if you know anything.

One other thing: Is any of you too living in South-America or even in the Buenos Aires -area. In that case I would really appreciate if you would like to get in contact with me. Because then I would have a friend in my new world.

    Bye for now,all friends

    Hi!

    Long time no see!

Is it for sure that DT will play Finland this summer? If so, do you know if they will play anywhere in Sweden, there are some festivals here this summer so they could...? Anyone with info on this?

    ---

Also, the festivals that they will play in Germany will include the Rock Am Ring or similar stuff, won't they? If so, then MTV usually covers those kind of festivals pretty much in depth so we will probably see some outdoor DT live-footage on MTV this summer. Everybody watch out and get your VCRs ready!

    /Mats

I received a letter about this about 3 years ago and routed it around my office and to all my friends for weeks. After getting everything ready to send, on the day that I was going to send it, I turned on the news and there was Craig Sheregold! He said that he achieved his goal, please stop sending the cards - He just wanted to get on with his life.
