    > GEOFF TATE HAS TOTALLY LOST HIS VOICE. PERIOD.

No. Just for that one show. I saw the shows both nights before, and he *definitely* sounded better. Also, they screwed up the tape at the beginning of SID, so Geoff had to do his best to mimic that voice. It sounded really evil at the other two shows. Be more careful, the same could be said about James, expecially on DoE.

The Queensryche concert was awesome!! Do they always have special effects like that? Very cool indeed!

Coincidence of the day: I was talking to my friend about the show, and I started to sing "Empire" in class. First you have to note that my friend doesn't know the words to the song. When I got to the part that goes "decline, right on time,.." He's all "What happened to the Dream.. Theater/Rush concert?". Cool? Right then and there he asks that question. By the way the lyrics go "decline, right on time, what happened to the dream sublime?"

Just thought that might be interesting.

All I have to say is that if DT is playing at shows in NY and NJ, and I'm, not going (epsecially because its sold out) I will be SERIOUSLY pissed off!!!! Isn't this group for advance notice of tour dates and stuff!!!! I'm really frustrated. I know of at least 15 people that would go to these shows......

Anyway, please let me know of the exact locations of the NY and NJ shows on 6/9 and 6/13.....maybe I can scam my way into getting tickets - if not, and they don't come back around these parts on their next leg of the tour, I will be seriously pissed as well as seriously disappointe in this list......no flames intended, but iI'm kinda perturbed, understandbly so.......

Okay there's a little discussion going on here regarding the ending to "Pull me Under". You know what? The ABRUPT ending to PMU is not really wierd at all. Check out that old Beatles tune off _ABBEY ROAD_ called "I want you (she's so heavy)". It ends the exact same way (ie: Abruptly). Do you suppose that DT was thinking about that Beatles song when they were doing PMU??

BTW, while on the topic of the Beatles... Is there anyone out there that thinks _SGT. PEPPER'S L.H.C.B._ is progressive-ish? Especially the song "A Day in the Life". That's my All Time Favorite Beatles song by the way.

Apparently, though, it looks like they will, which is _really_ cool. I hope they don't play at the RPM again. I saw them play there last October, and the sound system was just horrible. James' voice hardly came through at all (although when it did, it sounded great). Maybe it was because of where I was standing (right up in front of Myung).

Anyone else here go to the Toronto show? What did you think of the sound?

BTW: I think I'm the biggest DT fan here at Waterloo, unless someone wants to challenge me? :)

Well? I remember him getting flamed on a few of the boards a while back, but why did he vanish from this list? Did Atlantic pull his account because of the bad publicity? Did I answer my own question??? Thanks.

    sure thing.

i am pretty sure this is the same set they played for the whole first leg of the american tour:

9:28am intro I am I Damaged Bridge Screaming in Digital NM156 My Global Mind Neue Regel I Remember Now Anarchy-X Revolution Calling Operation:Mindcrime Spreading the Disease Mission I Don't Believe in Love Waiting for 22 My Empty Room Real World Eyes of a Stranger Anarchy-Xtra Empire Jet City Woman Promised Land Lady Jane Out of Mind One More Time Silent Lucidity ---Encore--- Take Hold of the Flame Someone Else? (1/2 band version)

hope i didnt forget anything :) the order should be correct. i am doing this from memory, but i have gone to 3 shows (so far) and have listened to tapes of them and other shows constantly since the tour began.

i have to urge every one of you to go see this tour. i have seen rush 6 times, dt 9 times, king's x and galactic cowboys about 12 times each, and this queensryche tour tops them all!!!

btw, i filmed 2 shows, and DATed 3 (of ryche). i am interesting in trading, but only with other people who taped the shows. (for now)

ok. i have a deal for you &$&$* lucky east coast people. since my grades are suffering from all of my road trips following various bands around, i probably won't make it the 1500 or whatever miles to the nearest dt/echolyn shows. since these two bands are 2 of my favorites, i am most interested in getting tapes. echolyn allows taping, if you ask them first at the shows. so i implore all of you that go to film or tape somehow!! dt too!!

here is the deal...i need someone that is fairly bright :) to trust with my recording deck. i am willing to mail the sucker out to someone on the east coast, as long as they take it to the shows and tape echolyn and dt, and send it back to me with the masters. this person can make as many copies of the master as they wish.

i will either send my sony D3 pro analog walkman, or my D7 DAT, depending on whether or not i need the DAT. most likely the analog. it has a shoulder strap, red LED level meters, and a small stereo clip on mic. the mic is very hard to see, and back before i had my DAT and CSB mics, i just would wear a shirt with a breast pocket, and clip the mic to that.

anyway, i need someone relatively trustworthy that is going to more than one show. the deck cost me $240 a couple of years ago, so i am not too worried about it, but i would like to see it again in one piece also :)

any interested parties, especially those of you that i know, that can make it to some of the shows (especially the june ones) please email me quickly so i can get it out to you.

if someone *will* do this, and comes up with some quality tapes for me, he/she will automatically be sent copies of all 5 of the Dream Theater shows i taped on DAT. and a queensryche video. i will be just as happy as a little girl :)

Hello Everyone! I just thought I'd post here. Only two things I can think of right now are...

    1) The Promised Land Tour is GREAT! 'Ryche Rules!

    and

    2) Does anyone have any information as to when Kevin Moore's solo stuff is coming out? I almost died when I heard he left the band! I've heard that there are "dubbing sites" for this but I'm kinda new and am not sure how to get any of that. Thanks for your help! BTW Happy B-Day Kevin!!

I know, I know, I know. I shouldn't make comments about Geoff Tate like I did last time, but it was just really awful. Not that I _ever_ thought that Geoff was no good <sacrelige!>; it was really breaking my heart. Plus, the more I listen to it the more it sounds like he waas just having a bad night. It was, though, one of many such nights of Promised Land material I have heard of. I regret that I have never seen QR live, and I won't until July 4 when they come to the Nissan Pavilion in Manassas, VA. A good 1.5 hrs from where I live, but the closest show to me. Perhaps I will wait until then to comment on the state of Geoff's voice. Sorry :)

The SET, however, just floored me. Kinga, I thought of you when they began Neue Regel--I remember you like that one--but when they did Screaming in Digital <!> I just about cried. They were in top form for these songs, esp. Geoff <even w/ the "altered" first verse of Neue Regel>. My biggest gripe about the show: TURN CHRIS DeGARMO'S MIC UP, DAMMIT!!! He has always been a great singer, and handled his parts on My Global Mind and esp. SID very well, but I couldn't hear him.

GEOFF, THOSE CIGARETTES ARE _NOT_ HELPING YOU!!!!!
