Hello everyone, it's BABS. I need to direct this to Jason Giles. I
was wondering if the next time you do a batch of Ytsejam shirts, would it
be possible to maybe get some funky crop-tops or even tank tops for us
girls? I have a regular Ytsejam t-shirt, but I never wear it out in public
because I literally "swim" in it because it's long on me. I was just wondering
if and when you do another order you could get a small order of them, I
think that there are enough girls on the 'jam (plus probably a few girlfriends
as well) that would buy them :)
Take care.

Hello everyone, it's BABS. I have noticed a couple posts as well as
a note from Warren in Oregon. The last time I spoke with DT's management
the word about the fan club was that they were getting a few things together.
I had spoken with them in reference to one of our members and the word
back from management was that they were aware of his name and that he
had never received anything from the club, etc. As we can see the progress
has been very slow and as Jennifer Albert (AirDance) has mentioned, there
has been a turnover in management recently. All that I can recommend to
anyone is to hold off on all fan club related activity until the new
release comes out next spring, as you may have noticed ACoS's didn't have
any fan club info. listed on the inside packaging, so it could be at a
stand still at this time. I know that this course of action does not
solve the problem, but I really can't recommend any other suggestion at
this time.

She's holding *the* mirror. The first thing that I noticed when I
bought Awake was that the cover had the mirror that the little girl
from I&W was holding. Look closely, it's the same one...

Sorry for the lack of D.T content but since we're a progressive band I
thought I'd share some of my happiness with the fans of a band that
inspires us to go on.
Well here is the good news , we've just received our year end quarterly
check and how many CD's we've sold (across seas) in Europe 35,000 and in
Japan 12,000 , and that's just being an indie band. I wish North America
would except more progression and less grunge.
Well I just wanted to share that with you , thanks for your time and
patience and we are now working on our new CD.
For any more info just e-mail ( pberesfo@eos.wincom.net )
Thanks and later,

To whoever wants to trade tapes with me:
Hello, I'm Kaoru from Japan. Since the last time I uploaded my message here,
I've got at least 20 offers for trading tapes via e-mail. For me, any offer is
welcome but please note I can't do it at once. I've been sick for these 6
months and in the meantime temporarily stopped any trade. Now I'm back in my
shape, but first I want to begin with those unfinished promises with Jennifer,
Michael, Brian, Stephane, Ties, Susan, Jason, Kai and some others. After
completing the trades with them, I will start to dub tapes for those who gave
me mails recently. I guess I will be ready for fresh people in late November
or early December, and I would like to ask your patience.
Please also note that my VCR became faulty, so with an exception of the Urawa
tapes whose copies my friend prepared for me, I won't be able to make
duplicates until late next year. Thank you very much for your kind
understanding for this.
For those who wish to send me a list:
Among your trade lists, please send me those of Dream Theater, Tori Amos and
Yes. The number of lines which I can receive over my network is quite limited,
so if you sent any long list, I might not be able to receive it fully. Then, I
will send my Dream Theater list only.
Thank you!

Hi, here's Kaoru again.
I'll give below all of the set lists of this Japan tour. As I did not take
notes, they are as much as I remember, and there might be some mistakes. For
the solos, they mostly played them in an instrumental tune where each member
played his solo in turns, so I cannot tell correct titles and just give them
as Solos:

With a number of people writing in posts REGULARY (and long one's at that) I'd
love to know if Jammers get outside of the house and play sports or hit art
fairs or sit in a bar (Sidelines in Chicago) all Saturday in the fall and
watch college football. Stuff like that. I know that we go to shows, some are
in bands, some are students and A LOT of time is spent readin the Jam (soooo
many posts!!!). I, personally, do all e-mail activities while at work (Don't
tell the man!). The way some people send in posts, I hope all of their time
isn't spent in front of a monitor!! :)I'd never want to be a PC junkie, but
some people are into that. Just wonderin'.
Also, I just bought a Denon 5-disc CD player, a Denon integrated receiver and
Boston Acoustic reference speakers. It is AMAZING the new things that pop out
of DT compositions!!! And AD has much more warmth and "live" feel to it than I
ever imagined. (Hairball, the United Audio guy said these BA speakers gave a
more "live" sound than a pair of Polks I was considering...They rated the same
watts/ohms, but what would make it more in your face? The Polks seemed less
bright AND less bass oriented at the same time, yet even. Answer? Thanks!)
LATER-
Steve
In the player now....I&W, "Pull"-Winger, "Sky is crying"-Stevie Ray Vaugh,
"Filthy little mouth"-David Lee Roth, "Finiculi, finicula"-Canadian Brass
P.S.-I am just starting to watch various episodes of PBS' Rock and Roll
documentary. If you can find it, WATCH IT! I saw part 3 on the Beatles/Dylan
and fell asleep in part 5 on the blues influence (Robert Johnson and Howlin'
Wolf wake up lower-class English kids like Plant and Clapton!). Don't know
what else my dad tapes...I know I missed part 4 which was Motown and it's
influence. Anyone see this series?

been doing my thing with wfs. and i think i have it done, but i am now having
some problems of my own......for once, i wish i could just hear it without
those strings in the background, as much as i like them. blurs a lot of notes
around and now i'm having trouble deciding if some notes are played, or i
just hear them otherwise. i think i will consult the guitar version and see
what they have to say about it. but for someone using a notation program
without any midi hookups (meaning i can't hear what i've transcribed, because
i don't have my gear hooked up to it) i think i'm proud of myself.
still waiting for other people to take thje plunge and express an interest to
try transcribing other dt materials. my next project if and when i have the
time, will hopefully be learning to live. but i have no clue how i'm gonna go
about that..............i guess once i get more familiar with this encore
program, i hope.

'jammers,
Since no one mentioned anything I thought I'd post something about the
referendum that was held here in Canada. Quebec, a dominantly french
province in Canada, held a referendum to see if they want to leave Canada
and have "their own little country". The vote was a close "NO" (50.6% to
49.4%) so that means we're still together (but there'll many more years
of bickering I'm sure). For some reason the Quebecers think they're
"special". Hope no one gets too pissed off about non-DT content, but a
lot of Americans know very little about Canada and we know so much about you.
How does that relate to DT? Maybe they saw us on the news and said "Oh
yeah, maybe we should play there too!"

And when I REALLY want some variety, I'll listen to A Change of Seasons

Subject: DT Show Info -- CT/NY/NJ
Message-ID: <9511011909.AA05886@us2rmc.zko.dec.com>
Sorry this is a re-post, but the questions regarding general ticket/show
info for the upcoming DT shows continue to flood the net. As a result,
I'll be posting this memo on a weekly basis until everyone who wants info
gets a clue ... thanks in advance for your patience!!!
As reported to death here on the 'jam, Dream Theater are doing (3) rare shows
around the Holidays here in the Northeast. DT fans worldwide, PLEASE NOTE --
These are the LAST THREE SHOWS until LATE in 1996 and the start of their next
World tour -- there are NO OTHER DATES planned ANYWHERE, period! So, you
wanna see DT before late next year? Try trains, planes or automobiles to get
up here for one of these three shows -- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Below I've tried to supply a compiled list of general information to aid all
those people on the jam looking for assistance in getting to see one of these
shows. I've tried to cover all the bases below -- my apologies up front if
I've alleviated any pertinent information!
FWIW, I'll be at all 3 shows -- look for the tall "state trooper" guy in a
'ytsejam' t shirt and say hello!
Rock on...
/Buck
P.S. -- I'll be doing my infamous 'Programmes' for these shows, which are fast
becoming little collectors items in themselves. I print up 100 copies
per show, so be sure to grab one if you you can.

CLUB SHOW DATE
---- ---------
El N Gee 27 DEC 95
P.O. Box 2210 Wednesday
New London, CT 06320
(860) 437-3800
How to get Tickets:
1) Available from Strawberries Record Stores in the general CT area (possibly
MA and RI, but don't quote me on it). Price is $10 + $1.50 service charge
for a total of $11.50 per ticket -- CASH ONLY!
2) Send a MONEY ORDER for $10.00 PER TICKET, along with a _SASE_, to the club
at the address listed above. Mark CLEARLY on the envelope "ATTN: DREAM
THEATER TICKETS" -- the club will process the money order and mail your
tickets back to you via U.S. Snail Mail.
Directions to the Club:
------------------------------
You'll go through 3 sets of traffic lights. After the 3rd set of lights,
there is a LARGE parking lot (free/public) on your left. Park in there. The
club is directly across the street. Please note: El N Gee is the club
directly across the street which you came down, NOT the club across the side
street which abuts the parking lot. That club is one of those "alternative
lifestyle" nightclubs, and you most likely won't find DT in there!!! 8^)
