    Patricia,
That's easy. JP does part of this song in his solo in TLF on the LiT video. I
noticed that the very first time I heard, being a Beatle fan and all. I thought
it exuded great talent that he did that so well. Do I win anything? <g>

    Hi all

various things on what passes for my mind, today. If you want to continue,
enjoy and possibly learn. If not, please skip.

    1. Could we (you) please stop abusing the Jam as a vehicle for evangelizing?
If people wish to believe in various deities, idols, stones, rebirthing, karma,
totems, altenative universes, UFOs, life after death, etc, let them, but please
don't send posts to the Jam with content that attempts to spread these views.
True, free speech is constitutionally guaranteed in many countries, as is
freedom to choose whatever religion (or lack thereof) you want, but I would
consider it to be basic netiquette to keep these things of the Jam, and if you
see posts that you want to comment about, then send a personal e-mail to the
originator. Otherwise I might be forced to start quoting anti-religious texts,
and we wouldn't want that, would we?

    2. Ben, the last lyrics questions were just too easy, even for an oldie like
myself. Try this one for size:

'Blow it up your ass, motorcycle man!'

    3. Bing Crosby *really* did sell over 205,000,000 copies of White Christmas!
Some people seem to doubt this - honest, it's true, I counted them all myself.

    4. My comments about Rush 2112/1812 Tschaikowsky seem to have confused some
people. Humour. I know what 2112 is (even if I never really liked Rush that
much). It just freaked me out that both numbers are divisible by 3, so I thought
they might be related... (humour again). Wait a minute, so is '6.00'!

    5. DT f**k-ups part 27(b): not doing any shows in Europe on this Xmas mini-tour
thing. Perhaps they are punishing England for the fact that so many of the best
bands come from the UK (stands back and waits for rear-end to be kicked by the
    YTSEUSers).

    6. Is it just chance that the new Beatles album and the Beatles BBC sessions
were both released just before Christmas? Has Macca run out of cash again?

    7. Does moshing have anything to do with 'moshed potatoes'?

Time to go now, see you all next time.

    stay safe and happy listening

Well on this topic of moshing...

I saw DT twice at Hammerjacks in Baltimore. The first time the bouncers
were not allowing moshing and in fact were throwing big time moshers out.

The second time, there was very little moshing.

In fact I think at the first show, (or it might be on a bootleg, I cant
remember) James says basically to calm down and dont hurt each other. This
shows me that at least James is not a big fan of moshing...

I dont think AL BALKEWICZ will ever send me the tapes he has owed me for
    9 months.

Anybody out there been in contact with Jeremy Haynes (aka BIG RIPOFF #1).

Hopefully Al BAlkewicz wont become BIG RIPOFF #2.

In response to the question, how many girls are on the Jam, count me in!!!

I know I am late for the survey but my favs are (favs in my definition
means songs I play over and over again) Surrounded, SDV, Metropolis, IF,
LSoaD, Voices, LtL, ACoS, YtseJam, Mirror, Lie, and TTT. Least favs are
(songs I skip most of the time, not all the time) CiaW and SS.
All other songs I did not mention are songs I just listen to instead of
repeating them or skipping over them.

I am 21 and bought IAW and AWAKE at the same time after listening to a
tape a DT fan made for me. One day later I bought ACoS.

This one is to Zach, you have not response to the email I sent you in
regarding me not being a *real* DT fan.

PLEASE LORD!!! TELL ME MY NIGHTMARE ISN'T HAPPENING!! DISCUSSING THE BEATLES
    ON THE JAM!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't like 'em, never did. The early stuff is trite pop tunes and the later
stuff ("I am the walrus"?!?! "Yellow submarine"?!?!?) is WAAAYY too acid laced
for me. This whole "phony Beatlemania" (thanx, Clash) is as annoying as the
whole Deadhead movement, esp. after Jerry Garcia passed. Whomever posted they
like Beatles covers better has a point. There are SOME good tunes, but they
are done by others much better. (This is where I put in the "IMHO" to keep the
jumpy in their seats). Let it be? Let the hype die!

Beavis' Cornholio pops up constantly on their show. I think the best
appearance was the cappacino skit. I loved the beatnik poetry he spewed forth.
It was most hilarious when Beavis had come down from his high and was himself
again, albeit sleepy. One of the dudes in the audience sends up a whole
'nother pot of cappacino to "light fuse and get away." Cornholio returns
    exhalting, "Are you threatening me?!?!"

Finally, I, too am a singer. I've been playing keys since the second grade (20
years) and guitar for 2 years. I can play easy comp. stuff and sing at the
same time (a la Counting Crows, "Tears", etc.), but I haven't been able to do
riff stuff or intricate strumming and singing at the same time. Whomever said
drummers that sing may have the best coordination/concentration could very
well be right. It's impressive as hell. The next closest thing might be what
Geddy Lee does (sing, keys and bass)!! LATER-

On a happier note, anyone got a hold of the new Yes tribute CD call
Tales from yesterday (distributed by Magna Carta). As the the CD
review in the latest GuitarFPM. Magellan and Shadow Gallery play
on the CD and get very good review.

    bye

              HEY:

I'm fairly new to this list, and by the time i was finally
subscribed Acoustic Dreams and Subconscious were both sold
out. I'm interested in buying these CD's from anyone with
an extra, that's short on cash, etc. NAME YOUR PRICE! I'll
consider anything reasonable. Just in case this approach
doesn't work, can someone direct me to a Subconscious
dubsite? I've already found several for Acoustic Dreams.

Also, someone in a recent jam asked if it was worth
purchasing the LIE SINGLE. I say yes!! I like the demo
version of take the time better than the studio version, and
EVE is simply a great song.

One last question; i've been an avid DT fan since the
release of Images and Words, yet so far i haven't been able
to find any keyboard transripctions to anything. Does
anyone have any info regarding this?? I'd be eternally
              grateful.......

              Later.

    Subject: Led Zepplin overrated?????
    Message-ID: <9510228170.AA817087394@SMTP.ACT.ORG>

I'm confused. In the ytsejam digest 1150, L. Jason Hartman
stated that he wasn't sure who was more overrated; the
beatles, or zepplin. Well, neither one were. The beatles
were genuious in their simplicity, and were groundbreaking
at the time. However, I do agree that they should let it
rest. (by the way, they did the new song by over dubbing
new parts to something Lenon had done years ago.)
Personally, i don't like most of their music, but i'd never
              consider them overrated.

Secondly, which songs by Zepplin did you hear that gave you
the idea that they were overrated? They were the most
influencial ROCK band of the 70's, in my opinion. Hell,
Dream Theater should cover Kashmir. That would be cool. huh
huh, huh huh. Anyway, i'm not trying to flame since this
whole conversation is based on opinions, but if you're
passing zepplin off as an overrated band, i feel sorry for
              you.

    Ryan J Benedict,

Hey take your own advice pal. Your huge critique of the Jam just
made it a whole lot better huh. Hardly! If you don't like whats being
said skip over the crap. It isn't that hard! Come on now use some common
sense! If you can't manage to do that just relive your Golden days and
reread old Jams, or else get the heck out of here.
BTW, moshing and DT do relate. Obviously you haven't been reading
the debates very closely. For your information the whole arguement is
moshing at DT concerts. One suggestion become more informed before you
    open your trap.

Well, I guess that would explain it. The other 4 of us were on Undernet
servers. I thought we were -supposed- to connect to Undernet servers? In
the past, I thought all the IRC chats were that way. In any case, let me
see if I've got this right now - Sundays at 8:00pm EST on an EfNet server,
    right?

    Hey all!

Sorry about the subject line, but there was not enough room to include all
    the topics.

    1. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

    2. Congratulations to Rena and John!
The very best wishes from the 'Jam go out to you!
How are you going to name them?

    3. Bernd Basmer's band "Superior" - album "Behind"
Thank you a lot for the CD, Bernd! I really love it!
It is highly recommended to anyone on the list.
To tell you what Superior sounds like - well, this is hard, but there
are some similarities to Dream Theater, Lion's Share (especially the
first song) and Tad Morose (anyone familiar with them)?
Contact Bernd (basmer@med-rz.uni-sb.de) about the CD - it's worth it!

    4. Threshold
This is the next band to be checked out by all of you!!!
I dare to say that their musicianship is as good as Dream Theater's -
and this is a VERY high standard!
If you are more into the heavier music, check out "Psychedelicatessen"
first. For people who like a little "lighter" material, "Wounded Land"
is the one to go for. In case you are not sure, check out the
"Livedelica" EP - it is 40+ minutes and contains songs from both studio
albums. Those of you who haven't heard them - try to connect to the WWW-
page of Michael Backof (sorry, don't have the HTTP here).
If you don't - well, you just don't know what you are missing!

    5. Inferno
Inferno needed a little to get used to, but now I really think that
"Psychic Distance" is worth to be checked out by you!
Thanks for the CD and for the "Architect" tape, Jay!
The sound reminds me of old Fates Warning, Iron Maiden, Queensryche and
a little of the German band Blind Guardian (finest power metal from
Germany!) :) So if this is the kind of music you usually like -
       check them out!!!
Jay Peele (jpeele@unf6.cis.unf.edu) distributes Inferno music.

    6. Many thanks to Patricia for sending me the LIE single!
I really love the studio version of "To Live Forever".

    7. Thanks to Mike Bahr for Acoustic Dreams (and Subcon).
       Keep it going!

    8. Thank you all for your patience with me! :)

    Take care!

    - Andreas -

there anyone out there that is familiar with them? Please Email me. Thanks.
