    >last two are a total mood swing!) Thanks, Brandon

I have a band in Central Florida called " SLACKER " and my live setup
    starts with 4 different guitars:

    1. Custom made Paul Reed Smith with Dragon Pickups and a standard bridge on it.
    2. Custom made Charvel/Jackson with Seymour Duncan George Lynch Screaming Demon
pickups and a Floyd Rose Tremelo.
    3. Custom made B.C. Rich with EMG pickups and a Floyd Rose Tremelo on it.
    4. Ovation Applause Acoustic/Electric.

    Guitar #1,#2 and #4 are tuned to standard 442 E. Guitar #3 is tuned to 440 D.
All guitar are strung with D'ADDARIO XL's #9.

My guitar rack #1 starts with a Audio Technica AT W-R10 True Diversity
Wireless unit, from there it goes to a Sabine RT-1600 Rack Tuner, from there
it goes to a ADA MP1 Distortion Processor, from there it goes to a Digitech
GSP 2101 Digital Processor for all my delays, reverbs, pitch shifters
etc....., from there it goes to BBE Sonic Maximizer which enhances the
    signal that can't be explained
(you just have to hook one up into your setup to hear the difference), from
there it goes to a QSC 850 raw power amp (850 watts), from there it goes to
two Crate 4x12 cabinets. Last but not least, this is all controlled by a
Digitech Control One foot controller thru MIDI ports.

My guitar rack #2 (which is still being built) starts off with a ADA
MicroCab cabinet emulator, from there it goes to a Digitech GSP 21 Pro, from
there it goes to a Alesis RA-100 power amp, from there it goes to two Crate
4x12 cabinets. This rack is a frankenstein at this point and in not
operational at this time, but I due use some pieces in the studio when I'm
    cutting tracks.

If anyone is interested in early next year we should have a full length CD
coming out. Our music is sorted like Pantera and BioHazard meets Dream
Theater. the CDs should be rather inexpensive. If you want one E-Mail me and
I will put you on the list. They should cost about 5 to 7 dollars. Got to
    run. SEEYA...........

it's a fantastic album! but it's nothing like anything else they've ever
done. if you want an introduction to saga, try "images at twilight",
"worlds apart" or their first self-titled album. these three represent
classic saga. i've never heard anyone else who sounded like saga so i
can't compare, but they are heavy on the synths and keys, with a lot of great
hard rock guitar in there too. the keyboard and guitar interplay is
amazing. these are primo musicians! their music could probably be classed
as prog hard rock on these 3 albums, but they ventured out into more
poppy stuff later (which i haven't followed too closely). Gen13 is
a heavier almost industrial sounding album with a bit of a metal edge to
some of it. i love it because it's very original yet done in the same
vein as floyd's 'the wall'. it's a concept album, with quite a variety of
sounds and songs. i must admit, the singer's voice is not for everyone:
it's a very operatic style, which i quite like (and might be just a tiny
bit like james labrie's). this style is more prominent on the earlier
releases but Gen13 tones it down a bit. happy listening!

Hi all! How the hell are ya?

I was listening to the radio the other day, 102.7 here in the Detroit area,
Z-Rock!.... and they actually played DT! They played 'Perfect Strangers'.
The DJ announced the song and afterwards mentioned that DT was headed to the
studio to work on some new material. How about that ... some press!

I saw the Bland Lemon thing start to surface again... Cool! Another round
of Melon bashing! (I feel like Gallager)... Great! It was innevitable...
Some poor souls who hadn't been around for the last round of bashing and
announced their preference for their music... (If that's what you call it).
Anyway... I'm ready for more bashing of these pompous, no-talent little shits!
Any of you who happen to like them... take out your umbrellas before you head
to their show ;) .... And I won't post the article from GFTPM since I know
someone else is bound to do it. The melon-head jerks SUCK!

...Got that out of my system, for now....

Mike Bahr.... Again, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!

pedals, and keys more or less at the same time
            2) Les Claypool - wacked!!
            3) John Paul Jones - I just love the way he grooves in every song
            4) Victor Wooten - I tried swinging my bass around my neck and
nearly poked a hole in the ceiling
5)Nathan East - (eric clapton - journeyman and few prior to that) -

Try it with a sampler or some modified tape unit, it really sounds like

I can see many of you haven't even thought about favorite bassists (or so
it seems), so I want to be one of the first to list my favorite ones, in
    order (not including Jazz people):

    1) Dave LaRue (Steve Morse Band & Dixie Dregs) - This guy is just amazing.
He can do anything with his bass, be it playing fast, slapping, tapping,
harmonics, just being incredible, etc. etc. etc. I saw the Steve Morse
Band live, and I think I spent more of my time looking at LaRue than at
    Steve Morse.
    2) Myung
    3) Les Claypool
    4) Robert Trujillo
    5) others, such as Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, etc.

I'm not including my favorite bands b/c I sent them directly to the guy
    who's making the poll.
Oh, and to the guy who said the new Iron Maiden sucked, I'm going to have
to disagree. Even though the new lead singer is no Dickinson, I think the
music in this album is far better than in Fear of the Dark, and almost as
good as in many of the other albums.

And to the guy from Ithaca College who mentioned Helloween, do you have the
albums Chameleon and Pink Bubbles Go Ape? If you do, please e-mail me to
see if I could dub them. By the way, I have Mindfunk's first album and I
    think it's pretty cool. Bye.

My previous band did several Rush and Dream Theater covers, and I managed to get
most of the sounds I needed using a Digitech GSP21 Pro effects processor and a
Marshall JMP1 pre-amp. The Marshall was great for the thrashy Pull Me Under
sounds, and I'd recommend it to anyone needing a wide range of sounds (unless
you can afford a Mesa Boogie Triaxis or two!)

Got a question for you. Don't get mad at me for this PLEASE!

Those of you who have seen DT live, did you get the feeling that
Kevin hated being there? The first time I saw them I got that feeling, then
I went 6 months later with a friend and he noticed it too. Then another 6
months later they came back around and suddenly Derek was there instead.
Somehow I was not shocked by this. I mean he played beautiful when he was
on stage but his facial expressions were such that he was just not getting
    into it.

Did anyone else notice this or just me, or maybe that is just how
Kevin is. Derek is very different than that. Guess that comes from playing
    with Alice Cooper.

    :)

hi all. i need a favor from someone out there. me and a few friends will
be road tripping from texas up to new york for the three shows in december.
we are going to leave the night of the 25th and hopefully get there on
the 27th sometime. what we need is a place to stay on the way there and
    the way back.

i am not too familiar with how to go, so the easiest route from texas to
long island would also be appreciated. i guess i could snag a copy of
that automap thing, but i am broke :)

i was thinking of heading east on either I-10, I-20, or I-30, until i
hit I-95 then going straight up the coast. anyone know which way is better?
we could either leave from houston (I10) or dallas (I20 or I30).

so, we would probably need to stop somewhere in georgia, carolina,
tennessee, somewhere like that. if we are pressed for time we might just
drive straight through, but on the way back we will definitely be
    staying somewhere.

i will be taking all my DATs and stuff with me, so wherever i stay you
can copy whatever you like. i will be DAT taping all three shows in
december, so on the way back you can copy those too.

any help or route suggestions is appreciated.

    Hi guys,

This is my first post on the YTSEJAM. First I'd like to introduce myself.
My name's Lars and I'm 29 years old. I'm living in Essen (Germany) and
I'm an employee in a computing center for a huge textile company. Since
the release of _WDADU_ I'm a great fan of DT and I've collected everything
I get my hands on. If you like further information please e-mail me
    at <dream@cube.net>.

I've got a question right now. Has anyone seen the digest no. 1041 ???
    I'm missing it ...

    Hi Michael,

I would like to have a copy of the CD _Accoustic Dreams_ too. How can
I get a copy of this apparent tremendous CD (see the reviews on the
    YTSEJAM)? Please e-mail me personally.
    Thanx! Later!

    Hi fellow Dreamheads,

has someone recorded one of MP's drum clinic or JP's guitar clinic
and would perhaps dub it for me (doesn't matter what kind of media)?
Since I'm living in Germany I would like to have a copy of such
tremendous clinics. It doesn't looks like both will have clinics here
    in Germany too.

I'm looking for video's from US concerts of DT too. If anybody would
dub me the tapes please let me know. And please tell me how to arrange
    the transfer and your costs.

Furthermore I'm interested in US releases of DT especially promotional
copies. And for Heaven's sake can someone sell me the T-Shirt with the
I&W cover (size XL) and the black cap with the golden letters?
    Please let me know.

    Hi there,

    1) I think that both unofficial releases (_Lost in the Sky_ and
_The Dance of Eternity_) are equaly good looking at the quality.

    2) I myself pronounce 'ytsejam' as 'itseejam' but for the correct
pronunciation we should ask a member of DT.

    Take care ...

    Hi Andy,

yes. I've got the songbook from the _Awake_ album right now. It's
only available in the US I think. The price is $25. But I can
copy you the pages if you like.

    >I don't have the article here with me, but I vivdly remeber Blind Melon
    >bashing Dream Theater. For those of you that are familiar with Guitar for
    >the Practicing Musician, it was in the column titled "In the Listening
    >Room." GFTPM played them Pull Me Under and they totally hated it. Some of
    >the comments I remember was "These guys have big hair," "The guitarist has
    >a rig with a million lights on it when he plays," and "that playing is just
    >plain stupid." They also went on to bash Satraini. The song "Always With
    >Me" or something like that, they said it sounded like the theme from
    >Baywatch. They said some other nasty things too, which I can't remember.

    To: Mathew W. Yee <psifire@netcom.com>

    Hi Mathew,

you're absolutely right. Blind Melon is only jealous on DT that they
are able to play such a sophisticated and complex kind of music.
They're only a bunch of brainless posers who wish to be a lot more
better than they are. But I think this wish will not become true.

In other words, they stay as fucking bad as they are. To say it with
    Manowar words:

Whimps and posers leave the hall ...

Take care ... and dream on ...
