Sounds like the guy was gambling, playing cards (using a deck
of Bicycle brand cards), and someone shot him for cheating because he

But you deserve it for all of your hard work (I've enjoyed all of your
releases so far). If you think of it you might ask him whether he
thinks the band will continue in a prog-rock direction or more of a
metal direction (or something else) and also how Derek S. will affect
the direction with his writing.
