Actually we did also listen to Lie and he of course provided a very
warped view of music. This sounds ridiculous, but I swear to God, he really
    said this. During the lyrics:

"Never been much of a doubting Thomas
But nothing breaks like a broken promise."

He said that those lines are (in his exact words) "filler". I
didn't even bother to argue. I mean, this guy listens to the Presidents of
Usa. I'm also a HUGE Pantera fan, he said that they are Metallica clones.
Holy shit, this guy is screwed.

    Ryan-

In reponse to your request on whether the Magna Carta "Genesis Tribute" is worth picking
    up...YES IT IS!

Although not as good as the other two, there are some brilliant performances on the disc
including Watcher Of The Skies (by Robert Berry & Hush), Entangled (by Shadow Gallery),
Ripples (by Annie Haslam), and my favorite Squonk (by Cairo).

Ifm you have trouble finding this (or if you are interested in the upcoming RUSH and
Jethru Tull tributes in June or if you want to check out the one of the best progressive
albums of last year...Shadow Gallery's Carved In Stone...) let me know.

I have a small mail order business and have an account set up with the label.

Mentioning the five discs he listened to that day, Steve B mentioned Eric
Johnson. Does anyone know when his new disc is to be released? My friends and
I have been waiting about 5 years since we saw him on the "Musicom" tour and
he played 3 new songs that night. Finally gave up waiting but heard something
awhile back about it being released sometime very soon. Any info? Apoligise
for the non-DT content but I figure the collection for great musical taste on
this list, someone should be able to help me out. Later. Oct and new DT can't
    get here fast enough.

of people attending for accuracy. Report problems to me, Chris Merlo, at

I will NOT assume that you are or are not going, depending on where you
live, or how long you have known me. If you plan to attend YtseCon III,
and your name is not on this list, e-mail me and tell me explicitly that
    you plan to attend.

Also, please remember that I'm not in charge of the Ytsecon. I'm just
collecting names. Jeff Chew (jc309@columbia.edu) is the man to ask
administrative stuff (like, "When is the Con? Where will it be held?").
As it seems, the Con will be held in New Jersey in October. So there. :p

I totally forgot who's doing the Superior CD orders, but...

Are they coming anytime soon? I think I sent in my check a month ago and I'm
impatiently waiting to hear this Godlike band in the flesh!

I want my BEHIND! (In fact, a lot of people do. It's kinda cute...)

I just read 23 ytsejams, and boy are my eyes tired.

First: Itchy: the top ten was cool. I'm shocked that I was on it.

A quick note about the 'jam replys. There is a big difference between
sarcasm and ridicule. I THINK YOU ALL KNOW THE EVENT I'M REFERING TO.
Ridcule won't gain you much respect amongst your peers.

About my IRC page... I keep saying it will be up in a month... however,
due to demand, I will probably sit down next week and write the info,
then just add pics as I get/scan them. I'll let you all know when it's up.

THE YTSECON: If you are planning to go to the ytsecon, please email me
    at: ytsecon@vortex.cc.missouri.edu
I am starting a temporary Idea Exchange type of mailing list to enlist
your help in the planning of the Con. I'll forward all the ideas and
such to Jeff, and it will give everyone a chance to make arrangements
(ie: sleeping, bootleg trades, rides, etc) I want to hear from everyone
who is thinking about going, whether you actually go or not.

IRC: One last time, for all the info, and my edit of mIRC, which will
*directly* connect you to irc.dreamt.org, go to:
    http://www.phlab.missouri.edu/~c675311/mirc.html
and remember... it's Windows only, sorry Crapintoshers!

I think that's it for now. I'm out of town for the next 2 weekends, so
email replys may be slow. Be patient. Later all.

    Hey

Last night here in Kansas City, I saw a double header of two
    bands called:

                           2112 and The Back Doors.

These bands look and sound like the bands they represent. 2112
Did a very nice job on the Rush covers. The Back Doors looked and acted
alot like "The Doors". Anyone seen these bands? A good time!

I'd go for the 7-string. Of course, you should try'em both out and see
which one feels better. Damn, I which I had as much money as you:) me and
    my piece of sh*t Epiphone...

    I have that same problem...:)

Well I'm quite sure they're not referring to the band:) but I read in their
webpage that's it's Brazilian for a dock or something like that. I'm sure
it was something to do w/ water and boats.

The Genesis Tribute may be the best of the three so far. Robert Berry
does Watcher of The Skies and Enchant does Man of Our Times. Shadow
Gallery, Magellan and others are on the album. Email me if you want
details. I also have the Yes and Pink Floyd albums.

Even Skadz is behind on jams. Something is quite wrong when the head of the
whole list is behind. I think maybe he is trying to send us ahint.

Since I missed out on the first Tape tree,{ luckily my brother got his
hands on a copy, thanks to a very kind fellow jammer named Heath} I would
love the chance to get a copy of the CT show! I
think the second CT show was longer than the first one (the show I saw,
and I am still bitter about waiting in the freezing cold for 4 hours),
but I don't know what they played for the second show. How about a set
list, even though I'm sure it has been posted in the past, I would
    appreciate it.
