wow! they played 600 at the gig in ct. and i was there the first night.
    bummer.

to the guy deciding between the 7 string and the jp guitar, go 7, all the
way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just got one 2 months ago, and it kicks so much ass,
it's not even funny anymore how much brain it hurts.

the jp is a great guitar, but there's so much to learn and do with the
uverse. it has already made me a better player, and i use it exclusively with
my jazz band in school. email me privately if you want more info.\

one of these days, i will promise to hear shadow gallery. one of these days.

the seinfeld bassist sounds like a synthesizer to me. doubt it's real at all.

the 2nd show tape would be great. yay brian!

    cool, peace out, dogs.

be found. Thanks and sorry for the lack of DTC.

his new cd is supposed to be coming out this month.
the title of the cd is " Longpath Meadow ", and there are 10 tracks on it.
Also eric says that he took a different approach to his music. the songs
will be more atmospheric, and he even plays some piano on the album.

when joe satriani had his IRC chat a couple of weeks ago, he said that he
is putting together a guitar heroes tour, which would include himself,
eric johnson, and steve vai! sadly the tour will probably only take place
    in the US :(

I own all of STP's studio releases and I do like them a lot. Tiny Music is a
change in style for STP, but they still rock. I also have to say that out of
Pearl Jam's studio albums, Ten by far is the best. Versus and Vitalogy go
downhill from there. (of course, IMHO.) I haven't gotten a chance (or the
money) to pick up all of Alice in Chains's CD, but I do like a lot of their
    material.

I was pondering. If the vocals on Antiquities for the Killing Hand
with J.Arch singing were recorded on a radio (boom box), how come there
is a second track at the end of the song where he sings "I laugh what I
have done...". There is a layer of his voice behind the master track of
his voice. This can't be done on a radio (boom box).

    Just wondering.
    <<<<<

I think Arch probably heard Antiquities and was embarassed by his voice
and was trying to cover his ass. He shouldn't be though. The recording
was obviously vocal heavy and with a little studio remixing it would've
sounded great. I'm glad Arch refused the job so that way they got
James. But, if Arch had decided to accept the gig, I think he would've
    done a great job.

    Until next jam.

This is just a quick FYI for 'Jammers who have access to a Newbury Comics
store and are looking for the QR CD-Rom- I just found it at the Burlington,
MA store for $27.99 (in amongst the regular CDs in the racks). I've seen
it for the same price at the Salem, NH store. This is MUCH cheaper than the
$50 or so it costs to order direct or to order from CDNow. Just figured
    I'd let everyone know...

Having been a subscriber for over a year, I always wondered why
Eric Johnson's name never was brought up amidst all of the
guitarist related threads. I first heard "High Landrons" and
"Desert Rose" back-to-back on the radio while on business in
Atlanta about 5 years ago. Fortunately, I was still in the car
when the DJ mentioned Eric's name. I then grabbed both of
his albums and enjoyed them immensely. Hopefully, something
will come out from him soon, but at least it's good to hear that
other 'Jammers are aware of him.

Eric Johnson has long been one of my favorite guitar players. It's
funny.. I remember reading an interview with JP talking about
guitarists.. and he rated Eric Johnson as one of the best unknowns
around.. this was right before Ah Via Musicom hit it's commercial breakthru.

And as for the guy thinking about buying the guitar... get the seven
string. I haven't seen the JP model.. but if it's a six string, I'd go
with the seven. It just gives you more flexability. I think you should
get the most capability for your dollar. Besides... that low b can sound
pretty mean and growly when you want it to :)

Anybody who is interested in exceptional musician.. (i'm guessing this
whole list) should check out Shawn Lane's CD "Powers of Ten"

Hey guys! What's up? I just wanted to tell you the truth about last
night. Lisaheld does exist, but she's not a ytsejammer. Me and a friend
of mine (an ex-ytsejammer) were guiding her, but many of the things written
came directly from her. So, it wasn't a complete lie, and she does like
some DT songs. You were chatting with somebody from the other sex, don't
worry. I hope you guys aren't disappointed or pissed off at me. I really
can't see how you could be pissed off at me, but you never know how
sensitive some people are. It was still a lot of fun, and I even got to
see a picture of Ben sitting behind his drumkit! I think it's cool to be
able to associate a name with a face. Anyway, I had a great time, and I
guess you did too. By the way, our computer crashed when we were trying to
retrieve the picture, and we then tried to go back but we didn't know how
to. Well, I gues I'll talk to you guys some other day, but I think it will
be me directly and not through somebody else. I'm sorry if some of you
didn't think it was funny. Take care. On with the jam...

I have a quiz for you. Or in fact it's a sweepstakes kinda thing.

Everyone who tells me what is the DT connection in a song called

                       GALAXY 500

and gets his/her answer right, will participate. When I have the
answers, I'll pick the out the winner (in random) and the lucky
one will get an audio tape full of DT stuff only two jammers
(Mike Bahr and myself) have before. Email me PERSONALLY, not
on the Jam. I'll post the winner's name to the Jam sometime
    next week.

Heh. My Calculus TA uses f(z), f(y), f(x)...and f(w), which is of course Fates Warning. Then there's d(a), d(q)...and d(t), which is of course Dream Theater. As far as I can tell such problems are completely illogical, because in real life no one can find DT's limit.

No deal! Everything's called off! I walked into #ytsejam and found her moshing with Skadz!! Skadz, that filthy woman-stealing bastard... It's all clear to me now, Skadz ol' buddy... You get yourself an IRC channel, rack up a little power, a little pull, then suddenly it's okay to step on your friends' toes...

    What a backstabber. :)

Impossible. There are no DreamNDay "levels." There is only DreamNDay. ;)

This tape will blister your cochlea. Korn, White Zombie, Rage Against The Machine, and a smattering of Alice In Chains. No kidding. And the drummer is busy busy busy. Not that I'm trying to influence anyone in particular. Ben.

Definitely not DT. I don't remember hearing a single solo anywhere. Except maybe when the guy started doing opera through his ass. HAHAHAAA HAD YOU GOING THERE, DIDN'T I? Just kidding. He makes that other farting noise with his armpit. Or so the Germans would have us believe...

I know how you feel, Paul. I feel the same way every time I read one of Damon's posts... Except it's ME who's slipping into the coma. ;)

"Steve?" You called me "Steve?" Hope you're all ready to chug...

Yes, the leads reminded me of Wilton and DeGarmo, but what I meant was that the production on their ep reminded me of QR/FW.

What, you went around flaming all the right trees and pushing all the right rocks and bombing all the right walls? BTW, if I ever get to do a solo on an album or record music of my own, whatever the piece may be, it will contain the flute-riff from Zelda. Six fateful notes that signal an approaching whirlwind. ;)

(btw Ryan, did you recognize the name "Gleeok" from my post yesterday?)
