Anyone out there know where I can get my hands on a Lie shirt from the
Awake tour? That's the cool looking one with the eye in the clock and
such that was used as the cover of the Lie single. I believe it was
long-sleeved, and aroung $25-30 at the show. I know there are places
that still have the Awake cover shirt, but has anyone seen the Lie one?
I would love to have that shirt... I'm kinda pissed I didn't have the $
for it at the show. :(

ps. I thought I'd list the contents of my 100-disc CD changer:

But since I don't *own* a 100-disc CD changer, you can go to
http://www.missouri.edu/~c675311/listbook.html and see a list of the CDs
    I own. :)

"We'd like to do an old song for you right now. This was done a long time ago by a man named T.C. Broonsie... this is called 'Jacob's Ladder.'" T.C. Broonsie is Terry Brown. More wacky Rush humor. :)

linked by a common theme, but it doesn't seem that way to me. Rather, it seems like a collection of seperate, but no less interesting, tales. At least that's the way I interpret it. I'm sure Mr. Arch could shed some light on the subject. At any rate, it's a great album and I have much respect for John Arch as a singer and songwriter (although I still don't know if I can imagine him singing Another Day or Wait for Sleep, especially after hearing the auditions on Antiquities).

Can anyone tell me if Night on Brocken is anything like Awaken the Guardian (i.e. should I invest in it)?

    Hey folks,

I was wondering if any Ytsejammers in southern Ontario are considering going to the convention on the East coast this October. So who's game? I think I can sway one person (other than myself, of course) to go but I'd rather it be more than two of us [it's cheaper that way :) ]. I have access to a car.

Come on folks, we'll get to meet the band! What more incentive do you need?

Please reply to me at the email address below.

    Later, Lugie.

Well, this thing is growing by leaps and bounds, so here's another installment...

YtseCon III Attendees List Name <e-mail address> D/P + x D/P = I'm definite/possible and my x friends are definite/possible. Please check your name, address, and number of people attending for accuracy. Report problems to me, Chris Merlo, at d-man@dreamt.org or cmerlo@cs.uvm.edu.

I will NOT assume that you are or are not going, depending on where you live, or how long you have known me. If you plan to attend YtseCon III, and your name is not on this list, e-mail me and tell me explicitly that you plan to attend.

Also, please remember that I'm not in charge of the Ytsecon. I'm just collecting names. Jeff Chew (jc309@columbia.edu) is the man to ask administrative stuff (like, "When is the Con? Where will it be held?"). As it seems, the Con will be held in New Jersey in October. So there. :p

Skadz look no further than you're own hometown area. Music Den in Commack has always had the Japanese version of LatM, and they still do.

If you really want the answer to the Fates lyrics, just ask John Arch at archfates@aol.com He wrote most of the lyrics anyway so why not ask him? My own two cents on Fata Morgana is that it is about a part of th Legend of King Arthur.

I just want to know if I'm not alone here. Does anyone else on the jam find themselves with a group of narrow-minded people who all think DT "sucks"? It's impossible to explain how good they are to people who can't except something if it's just a little off beat or little different from MTV kind of stuff. It's so frustrating! There's nothing I can say to these people because they have no musical knowledge and if it doesn't sound like pearl jam or oasis then it sucks. Does anyone else have musically narrow-minded friends? It's okay if you don't like them, but don't say they suck. At least respect them for their talent. I'm starting to ramble. Enough of that. Hey, I'm not a drummer but Jethro Tull's drummer sounds pretty damn good, can a drummer clarify that for me? I was listening to "Minstrel in the Gallery", that's a good song. Oh, I remember hearing something a while ago about Eric Johnson and something happened with his record deal and he had a whole album's worth of stuff that he couldn't release and he had to make a whole new one and that's why it's taken him so long. Is that a total farce or had anyone else heard that? Ooh, farce, that's a good word. Hey, everybody check out the movie "Fargo" if you get a chance. Good flick. Wow, this is my longest post ever. Sorry if I'm clogging it up. Any word on a new album yet? I think I've said my thirty five cents worth. I'm outty, biatches.

Where in the world do you guys get the lowdown on JP's clinic schedule??!! I managed to see Mike's clinic over the summer, but JP "snuck" into & out of town before I had even heard about it! If any of you jammers know anything about JP coming anywhere near North Carolina let me know, PLEASE!!

The same goes for Satch's tour, or any other guitar legend for that matter; it seems if your musical tastes do not cover "punk" or alternative then you don't stand a chance to get descent concert/clinic information.

When is the Rush tribute album coming out? I'm drooling just thinking about it. I know there's been several posts to the jam with supposed setlists, but is there one that's set in stone?

I saw that the new Pantera album is coming out May 7th!!!! New pinched harmonics from guitar's badboy!! (JP's still got his daddy IMO)

First, a warning... no DT content. But there is Ytsejammer content, if that helps :)

I know many of you are sci-fi and fantasy fans (apologies to those who aren't... I'll be done in a minute :), and I just wanted to give a plug to a fellow Jammer who's also an excellent writer. In case you missed his post a while back, the collection of Elric short stories titled _Tales of the White Wolf_ is now out in paperback, and Paul Cashman had a story published in it. A very cool story, I might add. This man can definitely write WELL (and no, he's not paying me to say this :)

Seriously, if you're into Michael Moorcock's character, Elric, or like me you've been meaning to check him out for a while and just haven't gotten around to him, pick up this book!

Well done, Paul! Now get to work on a novel <grin>

DORKAGE PERSONIFIED------- I bought some weight gainer the other day because I was at a plateau point in my working out, and I hated not getting anywhere. Anyways, it's some expensive crap. $40 for what's supposed to last a week. Guys that have girlfriends, don't get weight gainers, it makes you fart SO bad. Imagine me running through my house in a hurry, letting out a little fart with every step. Yes, it gets that bad. Who said Ytsejammers were dorks? They're totally wrong.

SUPERIOR-------- I finally sent off my money today to Jason Skewes for Superior's CD, Behind. I've found myself listening to the .WAV's of them for hours on end, no kidding. They rock that much. I'm drooling with anticipation for this CD more than any other CD I've ever wanted.

ANTIQUITIES-------- I still don't have mine. I have #295. However, it was a reserved number and I ordered it a LONG time ago. I was kind of expecting to get it LAST monday. Oh well. It sounds like I'm pissed but I'm really not. Just as long as I get it. I'm drooling to hear the ACOS demo.

ECHOLYN-------- I bought _As The World_ a couple weeks ago. Almost puked on the first listen. But, I never give up that easily. After about 30 forced listens I love that CD now. I recommend it to people that aren't quick to judge CDs.

KORN-------- I bought Korn a couple weeks ago as well. I had heard Blind and Shoots and Ladders on the radio before, so I knew I liked those. The rest of the songs, that's another story. I was so repulsed at the cd liner, the dark lyrics, and the swearing that the CD is saturated with, I almost sold it right off the bat. I kept listening to it though, and HOLY SHIT this CD rocks my ass like no other. I love this puppy. I recommend it to everybody.

IVANHOE-------- I ordered this from CDnow a week ago, and it's badass. Again, this is another CD you have to acquire a taste for. On first listen I was like "Man, they're trying waaaaay too hard to be DT." Right now, HOLY SHIT this CD rocks my ass. I noticed yesterday that the do0d's voice sounds a lot like Geoff Tate's voice. I noticed on one song though, I forget which one, the song ends with the snare drum doing a little military-sounding beat. That drummer is TERRIBLE. He really can't plan on beat at all. It almost pisses me off how bad he is on this part. He almost sounds like a 6th grader. This is the ONLY place the drums sound bad, the rest of the time he's damn coolio. Oh well, I recommend this to any DT fan. They're awesome, except for of course that one snare drum part. Blech, I just puked thinking about it.

MY FAVORITE COMEDIES-------- Happy Gilmore. Tommy Boy. Major Payne. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. In order.

TOPLESS IN THE PARK-------- I dared my girlfriend to take off her shirt and bra in the park yesterday. She did. It ruled.

    wo0t!
