I've always related that line to the horns that go off at 12 noon and 6 pm
every day. When I was a kid, the 6:00 horn always signalled the end of my
glorious playtime, and meant that I had to get home for dinner and homework.

Of course, the 9:00 in the song is also a common time to join the daily
    work routine.

Since the song opens with "6:00 on Christmas morning", I'm probably wrong
about the siren part, but damn, it works for me.

just wanted to let you know about a fellow jammer's album i just picked up.
the band name is Surreality, the album is Something Yet Lingers. it's
ambient-experimental music, as he desccribes it. i'm drawn to this album
because of the incredible emotion that is put into the music. Matt Rosin
plays keyboards/programming and guitar, as well as performs all the vocals.
some of it is spoken word, some whispered, and some sung.

his stuff really reminds me of Tori Amos, not so much that he sounds like
her, but that she's the only comparison i can think of for the emotions he
displays. his piano lines are hauntingly, beautifully simple, yet so
effective. that's the style of the album- fairly minimalistic, yet
extremely effective. it's definitely worth checking out, but beware; this
guy is honest. the emotions are real. very powerful....

anyway, check out his home page at:

    http://http.tamu.edu:8000/~msr7146/imagescape

it's a real cool page with full info. help support your fellow ytsejammers!

Huh? "The highest bidder will get it?" According to Mike's latest CD
update (as of 4/16/96), there are over 400 WDATU's left for sale. Don't
pay or "bid" an unreasonable price for this copy. If they were all sold
out, I wouldn't have a problem, but come on! Let Mike exhaust his CD
supplies first, then let the bidding begin.

    Fellow DT Fans,

I would just like to say thank you. I have received over 30 e-mails
trying to give me the right address. I have found the problem! I put
both addresses into my personal address file instead of one in personal
and one in individual. Because they both have the same first 7 letters
whenever I tried sending to YTSEJAM-REQUEST@AX.COM. It used
YTSEJAM@AX.COM as the default. So even though I put in the right
address here. It wasn't ending up at the right address there. . .
I have changed the files and sent a new request, hopefully it will
work this time. . . One more question. How do I get onto the internet
to hang out with you people. I've never been on it. Is it expensive?

    Later,

    Frank "The Joker"

Actually you have at least two problems:

    1) You have way too much money - and I can help! Send cash to . . .

    2) You seem to be fixated with Pontiac Grand Ams, even to the point
that you think one of them is human!

There is a pattern here - you feel compelled to buy multiple copies of
those things you like. I'm sure there is a clinical term for this
affliction - any shrinks out there? I'm wondering, how many
    houses/girlfriends/wives/cats/jobs/computers/TVs, etc. do you also
have? Please seek professional help, dude. ;^)

p.s. At least you have excellent taste in music!

    lo jammer type people

No, Bafu doesn't threaten me to get the end of the jam.
That whole moshing episode ended his relationship, but he isn't
bitter, he found someone new. I just don't wanna mention in a
public forum that it's D-man. ;) So, there are no hard feelings :)

Speaking of that Bafu character, yes _I_ thought you would
take that joke THAT far, I was kinda suprised when it ended at 25.

Gandalf -> That labotomy joke... no making fun of D-Man like
    that.

Michael Somebody or another said something about owning
multiple copies of DT CDs. Well, I own 2 of each of Mike B's CDs
except SubCon (No they aren't for sale). I also have the American
and Japaneese vers of Awake. Went out today and bought the re-release
version of WDADU, just to have it. I also have people out looking
for the Japaneese version of LATM for me because I only have
    the German version. :)

Cool DT thing of the day. On the bus home from work today
looking at the new FLA (Front Line Assembly) disc I bought and the
guy next to me asked if I had gone to the show this past weekend.
We started talking to him and I asked him what kinds of music he
listened to. He said ProgRock was his fav. So, of course I asked
him if he liked DT (well pointed at my ACOS T-shirt and said "Do
you like these guys?") and he was like "They're awesome" Talked
for a bit, and gave him my card to email me. I love meeting
DT fans in random places :)

And as for DT content...does anyone else think that the best version of To Live Forever (as far as singing goes) is on Subconcious?...IMHO, in all the other places I've heard it, Labrie murders it.

RATM: Evil Empire is pretty damn cool...I actually think it's veryy different than the last one...they use more odd time signatures (almost every song)...Zach de la Rocha's singing is more harsh and has a more refined rapping quality. They have also ditched the crescendo idea...I personally liked them...and since their last album had crescendos on every song, I naturally expected the same from this one...but instead there was not a one. They are still as anti-everything as on the last album...the inside layout is a picture of a pile of books including Johnny Got His Gun, The Wretched of The Earth, The Teachings of Don Juan, The Black Panthers Speak, Power at Play: Sports and the Problem of Masculinity, Rebellion from the Roots, Race For Justice: Mumia Abu-Jamal's Fight Against the Death Penalty, The Anarchist Cookbook, The Media Monopoly, 50 Ways To Fight Censorship, Hegemony and Revolution, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Democracy Is in the Streets, Guerrilla Warfare, Tropic of Cancer, and various other books about the oppression of races and women, and Socialist and Communist governments...yer normal everyday reading.

Well, I want to continue this trigger argument. I know the snare is triggered. but the toms and bass drum? Maybe the bass drum, but there is no way those toms are triggered.sorry, man. You lose. I highly doubt it. Normally, you could hear toms that are triggered because they sound really fake. (Listen to Shadow Gallery's Reease release on the yes tribute album for an exam[le)(. the bass drum might be triggered, but I don't think so, my ear says no. Unless you have proof that the toms are triggered, I am sorry, but I trust my ears.

I hate to say this, but if a keyboard has a demo button, it's a toy. If it has built in speakers as opposed to outputs only for an amplifier, it's a toy. If it only has a pitch wheel and not anything else, like a mod wheel, .. well, ... if it is not velocity sensitive, minus analog synths, ... toy. If it costs less than $500, it is most definitely a toy. And if it sounds like crap, it doesn't belong in thesame category as a Roland.

This brings me to a good question. why do some cheap toys called Casio keyboards actually have the gall to put MIDI ports on the back of their cheap plastic boxes? I mean, do people really take these things out on jobs with them? Are people really going to use them as controllers for rack mounted synths? I could just see Derek ripping out a solo on a Casio SK!, you know, one of those toy samplers. My God, the fear. I'd lose respect for the man right there, (so much for DTC). could you imagine Kevin doing something on a Casio CT640, my pre-professional keyboard? Ugh. I'd throw up. Anyway, enough of this meaningless bullshit.

It's hard to see the keyboard when your head is up your ass? Who was that directed to

By the way, ... I can't see the keyboard, and my head is sitting on myshoulders where it beloongs.

Does it hurt if you put your head up your ass? And if it does, what would it hurt more, your kneck from straining, or your ass from ... well ... the intake of your head?

    Hi!

Ok, since there were some questions about when the Superior CD 'behind' will arrive, I want to tell you, that Jason will send me the next order on MONDAY 22nd April. I will send back the CDs at the SAME DAY, when I receive the order. I guess the CDs will arrive then in the 2nd week of May. I'm really sorry, that it took a little longer this time, but we have to wait 'til there are some more orders than 3 or 4 because it costs me $50 (!) to send a parcel from Germany to the USA that is that big and heavy. So PLEEEEEZE show a little patience, ok? I'll do anything to send the parcel of FAST!

Another thing: I received 21 responses of people who want to get the SUPERIOR News-Letter. So I think, I'll set one up! But there could be MORE! If you are interested in getting this newsletter, that will come out every month or so (depending on the number of news...) please email me at basmer@med-rz.uni-sb.de The newsletter will contain infos about the band SUPERIOR.

DTC: DT is THE band! :)

    Bye.

    Bernd.
