My project supervisor just got back from the States, and he spent some time
    in Oregon.

I asked him if he met an Asshole called Warren.

He said he met a lot of assholes, but he couldn't remember their names ;-)

This is meant to be funny, Warren, don't get mad at me! ;-)

Did I run over your dog or something? I merely pointed out an obvious
flaw in your logic when you made a blanket statement regarding
alternative music. I believe the exact quote was "99% of all alternative
bands have no talent," but I can go look up the original if you like.

I honestly don't give two flying shits what you think about Green Day.
The fact remains that when you write something that general, you look like a
moron. When you feel the need to defend your position so heatedly, you
look like an asshole who's trying to hide his ignorance.

Generalizations are bad. Slavery, Native American reservations, and
concentration camps were all products of closed-minded individuals who
made sweeping generalizations about people, or groups of people.

Besides, the last time I checked, we weren't in a pissing contest with
alternative bands. I don't remember the singer from Green Day saying he
has a bigger dick than LaBrie. This is not a war. This is a discussion
about music. Music is an art form; as such, opinions about it are highly
subjective. Let's try to concentrate on the positive aspects of all
music, rather than cut down what we don't like from a genre that other
    people enjoy.

If you can't deal with expressing your opinions - whatever they may be -
in a positive, intelligent manner, then shut your fucking hole and lurk.

Other Jammers, am I way off base here? Have I missed something? Did the
Pentagon or the CDC recently release a report to back up Mr. Daugherty's
    claims?

I am not saying that echolyn has or ever did sellout. I am just saying
that 'Suite' seems very hipocratical, and it scares me. I assume most of
the echolyn fans relize, inivertantly, that the signing to SONY broke the
    band (no pun intended).

excerpts--'Suite for Everyman' -- Those who want to buy

    It's just I'm not sure I want...
To sell to those who want to buy
Go through hell for those who want to buy
Please don't take me the wrong way

                                   -- Suffacting the Bloom

But if we sell for the sake of sales
And those that want to buy
Are we playing for ourseleves or just acting out a lie

Think about this I'm interested in people opinions, but just don't say they
didn't sell out over and over, interpet the lyrics and tell me if there
is a different way to look at them. I have a couple thoughts in my head
but I'm wondering what you think.

I have been on the Ytsejam for a few months now and I keep noticing
people making mistakes when talking about Dream Theater related stuff.
    For example:

WDATU-What the hell is this? Last time I checked the name of the CD is
"When Dream and Day Unite". I don't see a T in the title of that disc.
    And my personal favorite:
Dream Theatre-Come on people it seems if you were dedicated fans you
would be courteous enough to at least spell the bands name correctly.
    ****

WDATU is a CD project made by Ytsejammer Mike Bahr. But anybody who
pays attention to what's written on the jam over the last few months
    would know this, right?

WDATU IS a Prism Records CD of all the songs on WDADU done live
with LaBrie on vocals. I wish people would read the jam before
    making mistakes like this.

This one is stupid, but half the record stores around have the
re instead of er on the seperators. Just gotta learn to live with
    it I guess.

Thanks for the approval, but I didn't say I thought it was about Kevin. He wrote it, but I think that story can apply to anyone who is repressing a desire and ends up wasting their life ignoring it and trying to work around it. Besides, I was just trying to explain what "the sound" was, I didn't intend to outline the meaning behind the whole song "6:00."

(But still, Gandalf agreed with me!! WOOHOO!!)

As for asking her out, I did. And she refused, saying something about "all test scores are final." Oh well...

I was just told that when the most recent Cinderalla and Dokken albums came out and they inquired into the possibility of air play on MTV they were told by MTV's execs not to even bother to make the video 'cuz they would not play it. Can you believe this shit? MTV is taking exposure and money away from established, talented bands and giving it to often talentless acts that wont' be around in 5 years, much less be anything one might call a "classic." The bands that aren't getting airplay have so much to offer. The popular "music" might have sometihng to offer, but they all offer the same thing, repeatedly, in MTV's rotation. I've heard Much Music is a bit better, but jeeze, what a shame. Ok, off the box, I'm going back to sulk now. :)

Oh yeah (nod a few times...look serious)

Past few months maybe...not recently :)

Moving on...DTC: A RARE FIND THESE DAYS!

I downloaded the DT DOOM level the other night...heres a review.

"Jesus there are a lot of f'kin guys in here!" "That picture's so coool!" "Dammit, I HATE SKULLS!!!" "Hear that music, it's Caught in a Web!" "What does he say?" "--Caught in a weeeebbbb-- and you teleport onto a web with spiders... Oh Maann"

Overall...I thought it was pretty unique. The wall textures for the albums looked great! And I thought the music was totally hoakey...I LOVE IT!!

For anyone with DOOM II...check out this level. It's a great fun ride!

While on the subject of DOOM...my roomate and I put together a sound wad based on the Princess Bride movie....it's totally awesome (air guitar!) If anyone wants a copy, let me know and we can work it out...

Excellent. I'm looking forward to seeing him. It's hysterical. Everytime I tell someone I'm going to see Ozzy they look at me strange and ask if I worship the devil or drink rat's blood. After telling them that I live off the stuff I explain it's only an act and that outside of the stage he's perfectly normal (or close to it). Of course they don't believe me. Suppose they're used to the popular bands these days that just stand up on that stage and play the songs exactly the way they were on the album. I can't justify going to those kind of shows just 'cuz they're so damn boring. Is Ozzy still up to his tricks live?
