2> "SOMEONE HAS DEFINATELY BEEN FOUR WHEELING HERE!!!"

3> I've tried to find some Shadow Gallery CDs from the nearby music
stores (Hastings) but I've had no luck. How do I get ahold of Magna
Carta to order some...same for the Rush tribute (when it comes out). It
seems Magna Carta doesn't exist in AZ...can't wait to get home! :)

    4> "Master Ninja Theme Song"

MST3K is the best...I can't wait to get home.

I heard that Comedy Central cancelled it! Is this blasphemy true! If
so, its another plot by the Elder Gods to.....anyway...

Is anyone else going through "Finals Fugue"?

Ciao, Bye Bye, L8r, Take Care, C-ya, Fare well, God's Speed, etc...

    "What purple helmet?"

BTW...Does the lead singer of Green Day have a bigger dick than Labrie?

    And why am I asking?

I don't know what that merlo guy's problem is, but he definitely has one.

I stated an opinion 99% of all alternative bands have no talent. That is
my opinion. I am sure that is the majority of Ytsejammers on here.

He still somoehow misses the main point of my post. Alternative bands
gets tons of support and sell out wherever they go. Bands like Styx, Kansas,
Boston, DT, etc are forced to play empty arenas or crowded clubs. Playing
empty arenas or being forced to the club circuit does not keep the record
companies happy. If the record companies are not happy then bands get
dropped and we are left with the alternative, Alternative...

And talk about having an intelligent post... I am sure all those cuss
words and talk about Green Day's dick made that merlo guy seem like he is
the most intelligent person on the list.

This is the last of my response to this flame war that merlo started. If
this juvenile wants to keep flaming me on the list then he can for I dont
care and don't want to waste the other jammer's time reading this crap.

I just wanted to stress a point. Support progressive, metal, hard rock
music or we are faced with the alternative, alternative...

I was gonna wait to see if Skadz answered you - but we all know his nutty
    schedule.

There is a rumor that DT played a club called "The Paradise" here in Boston,
and no -one knew of it. Someone in the area claimed to have a 'copy of the
master' tour date schedule thing, and the paradise was listed. That is prolly
    a tape of that show.

    Just a guess.

I've been lurking on this list for probably six months, mainly for lack
of anything to contribute. Eric's post about soloing brought me out.
I'm about three flights away from getting my private license. If anyone
who is even remotely interested in flying has an opportunity to take one
of those $25 (about) demo flights, do it! The flight schools actually
lose money on these flights in hope of signing up new students, so it
really is a good deal. Sorry for the lack of DT content. Laterz,

Well it looks like Qghost has picked up the slack, I was really looking
for someone to do that too. His page (www.webcom.com/qghost/) now houses
the OFFICAL echolyn web page. And to ease my doubts its seems that
echolyn knows about the StB sales by CdTreasures so even if they are not
getting money from it at least they know about it. This page is awesome
for the echolyn fan, and has updates on Finnus Guage and Still, plus a
comprehensive look at the new album, "When the Sour turns to Sweet".
So to say I'm happy would be an understatement. Check this page out.

Hey everybody, it's been awhile. A lot has been happening these past
couple of months, and I haven't even been able to read my jams, let
         alone post the BIG NEWS...

Remember a while back when I posted about the "littlest ytsejammer"
and asked for music suggestions to play for him when he arrived into
the world? Well, he's here!!! I'm sharing my good tidings about 4
weeks after the fact because everything has been so crazy (my wife & I
moved into a new house on top of having the baby).

Anyway, his name is Alexander Evan Hochberg, and he was born on
Wednesday, March 27th, weighing in at 6 lbs. 5 oz. He is the most
precious little guy in the whole world, and I'm so proud to share the
happy news. Anybody feel like sending him a little greeting so I can
print it out and show it to him someday? This weekend I'm going to
John P's guitar clinic and Mike's drum clinic and hope to get them to
sign an AWAKE poster "To Alex".

On top of that, check it out: the newest addition to the LaBrie
family, Chloe Nadia, was born on MY birthday. Hey, cool.

Just thought I'd chime in with a baby update. :) We now return to our
regularly scheduled programming. (Which for me is pretty nuts - new
baby, new job, and a new house all within 2 months of each other -
AAAAHHH!!! Anyone out there doing stress research?)

         Dream on, brothers and sisters...

Jeff (the artist formerly known as hochbj@sage.edu)

    >Dream Theater title I could think of

Damn Bogie! Every time I come up w/ an intersting idea, you talk about it on
the jam. Remember AFBI?:) I was actually thinking to myself the other day
"The Silent Man, looked in the Mirror to check his Space-Dye Vest.." and so
    on...

and yes I was bored :)

    >the reason why Rush is a great band is because they *compose* their music
    >rather than *write* it.

What they probably meant by that is that instead of bangin' out a couple o'
chords, they sit down and work w/ the song ('you can do it song, we know you
can') workin' out every detail, and putting attention to form, textures, how
the lyrics affect the music( and vice versa ) etc...

    >No, I still think the "sound," whatever it might be, comes from Within the
    >troubled man. It's not his alarm clock

But I think that the alarm clock is a metaphor to that sound or something
like that. It's like the alrm clock stays ringing in his head, representing
what's troubling the guy. So we're pretty much saying the same thing, but
we see it in differnt ways...

    YtseMail Doodz,

I just want to say that I reeeeaaally would like to have WDATU. Although I
think WDADU is great, there is something about Charlie's voice that keeps
irritating me. Do I stand alone on this subject or do y'all agree with that.
Conclusion of this statement: well figure it out.

James Wiseman: It's a good thing the piano sample sounds somewhat like
the real thing. Besides all that it still is a shitty thing.
But as you said: we can play 'wait for sleep' with it!
And I'm going to buy a Korg in the near future.(I think)

And for the second time: I WANT DT MIDI FILES .. Who has 'em?

And another question: Is there (going to be) an official rerelease of WDADU?
I thought I saw something like that on Images and Web. If so, ordering
    WDATU would be obsolete.

Dunno what else to write so

         Hello all,

I thought I'ld list the contents of my 12-disc changer that WERE
    STOLEN . . . . AGAIN!!!!!

That's right, my car was broken into again! Stupid me, replaced all
my stuff that was stolen before, and of course, it was all stolen again.
They didn't take the radio 'cause I had the faceplate with me, but they took
everything else. This time, they didn't break my window - they pryed open
the door handle, got in, opened the hood, and ripped out the wire that goes
    to the alarm siren.
Luckily I didn't have any of Mike Bahr's wonderful CD's in the car at
the time, but here's what I did lose:

DT - Images & Words DT - Awake DT- ACOS Echoyln - As the
World Shadow Gallery - Carved in Stone
Ivanhoe - Symbols of Time Sepultura - Roots Fear Factory -
Demanufactured Galactic Cowboys - Machine Fish Pantera - Far Beyond
Driven Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power and Death - Symbolic

That's it! 12 of my favorite CD's ---- all gone!
If you know anyone that steals car radios, beat the crap out of them
    for me, will ya??

        Anyways, had to vent.
        Thanks, have a nice day,

This is in response to all of the hate mail posted on the ytsejam
after I made the statement what does WDATU stand for. I am aware of who Mike
Bahr is and that he makes bootlegs of DT material. However, I have seen
nothing referring to WDATU as being one of his CD's. I have read every
ytsejam that has been sent since I've been on the list. I'm sorry I
but I made an honest mistake. I appreciate those who e-mailed me and
pointed out my error but for those that resorted to the immature name calling
all I can say is get a life. I wasn't aware of the WDATU CD so I don't
feel that was necessary. I am on this mailing list for the same reason
all of you are and that is because I am a huge Dream Theater fan. I would
like to think that if in the future I made another error it would be
corrected and I would not be called a dumbass.

    Hey Jammers,
To anyone with Muchmusic take note that the new program "Loud" is
on Fridays at midnight ET and hopefully it will follow in the footsteps
of the Power 30. The Power 30 (actually Power Hour at the time) was what
introduced me to DT to begin with. I saw Pull Me Under (yeah, yeah, I'm
another fan who found them after I&W was released) and went absolutely
bonkers trying to find I&W at the time. I walk around with my CD walkman
in my ears and people don't ask what I'm listening to anymore, they ask
which DT I'm listening to. In fact, I've brought many, many people into
the ranks: friends, people at my fencing club, a couple of people in my
    chem lab, etc.
NDTC: My friend's cousin in Vancouver just put out a CD and it
is really cool. All of the members have either gone to music colleges in
Vancouver and/or Calgary. There's a definite jazzy feel to their music,
but the drums, WOW!!, the drums are somewhere between Portnoy and Peart.
The rhythms this guy does with the ride and hihat simultaneously is
really cool. They're called Galileo and they're touring Canada this
spring/summer. I'm not sure how extensive their tour is or whether
they'll hit the States at all, but I'll see about details and CD
    availability if anyone's interested.
Well, that's enough babbling for now.

Awake was released on 10/4/94 (I think). One of the few memories I
have where I remember the actual date.

But the new (and final *sniff*) album isn't being released by Sony, but
by Syn-Phonic (in the US, at least). So I don't think it is any kind of
    contract fulfillment.

    But I could be wrong!

Yes yes yes. You have basically summarized my entire analysis with a
single reference to folklore. I agree that the "sound" is beckoning the
indecisive man like a siren (the mermaid kind). It's a blaring-siren
because it wakes him up, and it gets louder and louder until it's so loud
he can no longer ignore it and instantly becomes completely aware of it,
and at the same time it's a mermaid-siren because it hauntingly persists,
drilling away at his psyche. Maybe Kevin wrote the song about Odysseus...
