    To Ytsejamers and Sinfonians everywhere,
Hey there guys and gals. Well it's been a long time since I've posted
anything to this list, this semester has been hell so I haven't had much
time to read all the jams let alone post responces to things I was
    interested in responding to.
As far as the thread on Dt playing at small venues. I can't agree more
with the jammers that think that DT and other great bands will be in trouble
with the record companies if they don't start playing at some bigger venues.
I would like to ad the fact that in certian cities in the US such as buffalo
they have played some decent sized venues as well as in Japan where they
tend to play medium to large size venues. I really don't think when you
take into account the amount of money made in reccord sales and those larger
venue shows they are in deep trouble although I agree that they could use
more of those type of shows to secure there place with the east west lable.
I would like to see them get more popular just as any one of the jammers on
this list would like to see them more popular. It would be nice to share
the DT experience with some new people. I know that I have been doing my
part by introducing all of my friends and family to there music and getting
them interested in there music. I do think that Mtv sucks my left ass cheak
though. They play nothing but rap and alternative or stupid shows(with the
exception of bevis and butthead of course) Just once I would like to see DT,
Rush, or even some classic rock on mtv. At any rate enough of my ramblings
    on that matter.
This part of the post is for anyone who might be in or involved with
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the professional music fraternity that I believe DT
members belonged to. I was wondering if anybody would have any more
information about there possible involvment in the fraternity. I am
presently a brother and I know that when Kevin Moore went to Fredonia State
Collage in NY he had ties with the brothers of some sort but I can't figure
out if he or any other members of DT were ever officially involved with the
Fraternity. I have my suspicions because if you look at the Majesty symbol
it looks very much like the greek letters Phi Mu and Alpha overlapping on
top of each other. If somebody could check this out for me I would greatly
appreciate it. In the mean time on with the Jam.

    Greetings...

I think ive only posted once here so ill introduce myself. Im a junior at
at the University of Vermont. I listen to DT, QR, Marillion Live, and
    various other stuff.

I attented the first of two shows at the El-N-Gee club in Groton
Connecticut, and I must say..I was rather pissed off. I arrived at 7:30,
expecting to enter the building at 8:00, as stated on my ticket. While
waiting, a guy came out and said there is asmall delay and irt would be
another 45 minutes. I tought, ok...no prob. 2.5 hours later, having no
feeling in my body, hoping my feet were not frost bitten, we were let in.
It got so bad, people started throwing snowballs at the club and using
the wooden fence as fire wood. A guy came out and said the drummer was
not happy with the sound of his drums nad we would havta wait. I must
say, Mike was the least popular person that night for awhile.

Now, Im not sure if it was DT's drummer who the man refered about or the
opening act. All i know is that I, along with a few hunfred other fans,
waited in line, with the temp in the teens, for 3 hours. Poeple were a
mighty pissed off. Whats gets me is that at the end of the show, James
blamed the owner of the club for having to close at 1:30. Seems to me if
the damns show started on time, there would have been no problems.

I dont wanna blame things on DT, cause it could have been the opening
bands fault we were out there all night. Either way, i was amazed to see
that the bands, nor the club, cared how long we were out there. It got so
bad, police showed up to calm the crowd.

Does anyone out there know what really happened that night? I would
    really like to know. Thanx

Oh yeah...who was that guy walking by the line of people every ten
minutes repeating "Mike Bahr" over and over.

First off... Corey E. Cleary. This is way out of hand. At least
DreamNDay's posts had *some* value. Here's a breakdown of Corey on the
last 'jam: # of posts: 3
                    # of lines he typed, total: 4 3%
                    # of lines in headers, total: 15 13%
                    # of quoted lines, total: 53 45%
                    # of .sig lines, total: 33 28%
Of that, the amount of relevant info: 1 line (He wants WDaTU)

    Some responses to Corey:
    >I might have the spare cash, BUT I need a copy of WDATU. Can anyone
    >help??
Yes, Corey. Send me the $5000, and I will see to it that you get a copy
of WDaDU. In fact, I'll gift wrap it.

    >>later,
    >>Cory
    >Just to let everyone know that might me confuzzed, this is not me. [sic]
    We know that already:
a.) The headers say so (From: swanson@henge.com (Sheila Swanson))
b.) It's signed "Cory", not "Corey E. Cleary"
c.) The post was relevant, interesting, and humorous.
d.) The author didn't get flamed for posting 6 times in the same
digest and not including anything that anyone wants to hear.

Corey, I have a solution for your problem. You can get counseling by
sending the message "unsubscribe ytsejam Corey Cleary" to
"ytsejam-request@ax.com" with a subject of "asdf" Good luck. :)

    ----------------ON-TO-OTHER-THINGS-----------------

Jeff: I'd like the idea of a summer get together. If I can't make the
one you plan, I'll be in NY and avalible on the 6th of June. To all my
NY/LI IRC pals, we have to plan something for that day. Maybe a dinner,
or something. Maybe we can all just get together and T.P. Jeff's house.
    :)

    ------

To E-Man: We'll miss you. Come back to us soon. (you wouldn't want
that new 28.8 to go to waste would you?)

    ------

    About the Cons:
Stop complaining. Not everyone can go, that's a given. I'm driving
from MO to get there. That's at least 20 hours. I know people who are
comming up from TX to go, and that's twice as far as I am. If you can
hitch a ride, do it, if not, stop complaining. The fast remains that
this Con already has 3 times more people planning to attend than the
previous ones. Jeff is not going to move the Con to accomodate a
minority, there is enough interest as it stand. I wish, and I'm sure
Jeff does too, that there was a way to get everyone on here to go to a
con and meet the band (with the exception of a few for the sake of our
reputation :), but that can't happen. Sorry.

    ------

    Computers:
I just upgraded to a second HD and wiped/reinstalled *everything* on
my computer (OS included). It has been a pain in the ass, I stall can't
get Word to work right and the video drivers I spent two days searching
for corrupted Windows to the point that I had to edit progman.ini (huh...
'progman'... that's cool... uh-huh-huh) from DOS to get back in. But
anyway, the system is back up, running faster, smoother, and with more
    space than before.
What does this mean to all of you? Well, it means that the
preliminary version of my IRC page *should* be up next week.

    -------

To Augie and Raytheon: I should be hitting the scanner on Thursday or
Sunday you will have your pics soon.

    -------

To Damon: I have a pic to use for you. It's a surprise. >:)

I'm sure to be in a long list of people who can vouch for Mr. Bahr. All
his creations are top-notch and he's certainly no con-man.

I think WDADU is great. I just got it about three months ago, and Chuck
D certainly was a little different...but the music is SOO FUKIN' COOL
that it didn't matter much! Get them...both!!

    > Hey, since we're on the topic of WDADU, does anyone like Light Fuse and Get
    > Away a lot? I do...Kev's solos rock in the middle of it and I'm impressed

I think Lite Fuse it one of the best songs on there. The first time I
heard that solo I fell in love! Moore used that sound that made me love
DT from the start...I'm missing him something fierce.

I'm really anticipating Derek's start in really putting his own stuff
    into the music (ACOS doens't count..IMO). I don't think it'll be like
the old KM, but here's hoping!

Actually, AWAKE is my favorite album, but the only thing I've got against
it is the lack of "That sound"!

    Moving on...

    > who are interested in their intelligence.

I have to absolutely, totally and in all otherway inconcievable...agree
with this! It's the same in some colleges too!

I was a nerd in school, somewhat. I wasn't the booky kind, but I cared
about how I did in class, and I wasn't Mr Popularity either. But you
gotta smile, if you're in the same boat I am...a good number of the real
jerks in school, well right now they're working in factories and fast
food joints...and I'm going on to a great career.

In reply to the person who wanted a ytsecon somewhere hot and sunny,
there is no better place than Florida. I know there are many other
jammers in FL that have nothing better to do this summer then to go to
one of these. Its also where I live.

With all the talk of Overkill lately, is anyone going to the
concert in Atlanta on 5/16 or anyone know of any of their tour dates in
    Florida?

As for Alternative, it all sucks and the only way I keep up with
it is with the Jam. (no hidden messages here, nooooooo, not here) :]

Whats up with the Scenes bootleg (how much will it cost, whats on
it, etc.) and the second tape tree?

Finally I would like to request that everyone make their sigs
twice as long. Whats wrong with you people? Real sigs should take up two
    screens, not just one. :)

Heee... Some things never change, right Palzewicz? :^)
Oh, and while Steve has taken the initiative to rip on me, get a
load of this: HE'D NEVER SEEN LIVE IN TOKYO! Die Hypocrite!! You're
lucky I tossed it in my bag... :^)
Seriously, Steve's hospitality is TOP NOTCH. Thanks again, man! :^)

Order a T-shirt! I'm still just getting started on this, but
again, let me know if you're interested--I might need to give the
printing shops a ballpark headcount. Details will come when I get
    'em worked out...

    > Looking forward to welcoming you to Chicago!

            Definitely. :^)

    Later...

The ONLY problem I had with WDADU, besides Charlie's voice, was the
production. I really wanted to head JP's guitar work.. but it's really
buried. I haven't heard the re-release, so maybe someone could fill me in
there.. One thing though.. of the live tracks from WDADU that I've
    heard.. I think I like Charlie's phrasing a little better.. maybe it's
because it's what I'm used to..

Funny how things work out. I was reading the last Jam and listening to
Rush's "Moving Pictures." While reading a certain post, one particular
line from "Witch Hunt" caught my ear:

"Ignorance and prejudice and fear walk hand in hand"

Maybe it's just me, or my uncanny luck with Rush relating to life so
    damned well. I dunno.

Oh, by the way - Hey, E-Man! Please Don't Go! :(
