Hi, I am a student at Texas A&M University and was looking for a poster of
DT. I cannot seem to find one. Does anyone know where I might be able to find
one in the College Station or Dallas areas? Thanks.

    Woohoo!
I've only submitted a few jams and I have made it to the hallowed
end of the digest already, I feel so weepy-eyed. (sniff sniff)

DTC: I really like the idea of releasing two separate albums, but if JP
said that they are going to be able to bring down the material that THEY
want released to 70 minutes then that's what matters right? It would be
great to have two albums worth of material over one album and a bunch of
B-sides because I don't have an adequate outlet for Japanese imports.
The local independent record store (Records on Wheels) can get me
whatever I want from Europe (even though Gamma Ray's "Sigh No More" came
after their "Insanity and Genius" CD when I ordered them a year apart),
but the Japanese stuff is just too hard unless I go to Japan for a CD
buying trip once a year. (don't some Japanese businessmen come here once
a year for golf, well got to balance the economy, right? Ooops NDTC,
    sorry).

First of all let me express what I think of these flame mails. I think anyone
who has the nerve to send those emails to the jam is a stupid fuck,
    PERIOD!

This mailinglist is and always was intended for exchanging information
about our favourite band Dream Theater. Not some stupid piece of shit
from whereverland claiming he's better in this and that than the other.
I realize I'm now flaming myself, BUT I think I speak for the majority of
readers, and therefore it is justified! So stop this nonsense now, or
I'll stop reading this list. (okay this threat doesn't mean anything to you
all but what the heck, let's give it a try.)

To change the subject; anyone who still hasn't voted for a DT double CD
should go and do it right now! Skadz has a point in doing this when there
are 20 or more new songs. We want more. (Moore?) Just go to www.
dreamt.org and give him your vote!

that is SOOOO cool! i picked it up a couple years ago at Best Buy, of all

Damon: i was defending you good buddy., notice that i quote Mr. Mort and
not you. he made a personal attack on you which certainly justified the
response you gave him. i was referring to people like him that flame for
    no reason.

hey, i tell you what, i love music with a passion and it's something i work
on hours upon hours each day as well. i know EXACTLY where you're coming
from when you say you retalliate harsh against people that flame you on a
subject that means so much to you. i've had the same damn thing happen to
me, and i just can't figure it out. (you know who you are)

and for the record, it's ANDREW.

Skadz: Anyway you can add *@*.aol.com to the .ignore file? I hate to do
that to all the AOHellers that are on the list, but I would be more than
happy to forward any legitimate AOL post to the 'jam personally if it
will get rid of those damn Magazine adds and spam (if I'm not mistaken,
every one of those (in the last 6 mos. anyway) came from and AOL address.)

    ------

I have decided that people today have no musical taste whatsoever. There
isn't a single good radio station here. Besides that, I played some DT
in my Bio Lab yesterday, and reaction were:
"This isn't progressive rock. This is glam rock." (That was my
damn TA! And he didn't even see the WDaDU pictures! :)
            "This sounds like Black Sabbath."
"What is this crap? Warrant?" (!?)
            "Is this Kiss?"
I guess we just can't win. I'm not saying prog is "it." I'm not one of
the fanatics that won't listen unless its in 12/2000 (I think that's
Damon's vision if I'm not mistaken) or has keys in it. But I really
don't like the music that is getting airplay today. IMHO, there are 3
    types of music:
That which is good. (I don't think I need to elaborate)
That which I can listen to. (This is the music that I would never
actually spend my own money one, but if it's on, I won't
                    change the station/channel)
That which sucks. (Country, Rap, "light," etc...)

Rememer, this is *not* a blanket statment about music. This it a
blanket statement about the music that *I* like/dislike. I'm not going
to hate people who listen to country music. I'm just not going to go to
    any parties they throw. :)

doing "the silent man", featuring mojoman on gee_tar and me on

Just thought I'd let you all know that there's a new VH song out there. No, they aren't releasing a new album - they did this song for a movie soundtrack. The name of the movie escapes me right now, but the song is called "Humans Being." At first listen, it sounded like someone doing a really convincing imitation of VH, but it's them. I guess the song'll grow on me.

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled hatemongering and Jammerbashing.

I was also the 3rs person on line, so when the doors finally opened, I gor a nice little seat in the front. I got my ACOS and my Rock Discipline video signed, and I won and Ibanez shirt for knowing how many kds he had. Then he said "Does anyone know what our little symbols means?" And I said "Majesty!" and John said "Stop shouting! You already won a shirt!". One quick question. He asked if anyone knows what Erotomania means, and someone knew, and John said "You're probably an internet guy", and he said "I am!". Who was this? was this a jammer? Hey Jammers,

I was walking along today when I suddenly ran into Derek on the street! He told me that he was going to eat lunch at a restaurant neer by, so I asked him if I could join him and he said yes! He wanted me to tell you guys that he is playing a gig MAY 10th at THE PEOPLE'S BAR & GRILL in ELMONT, LONG ISLAND. He's playing with his "side project" band called "ETHYL MERTZ." Other people who he will be playing with include Al Pitrelli (Savatage, widdowmaker) on guitar, Greg Smith (Rainbow, Alice Cooper) on Bass, plus a number of other special guest stars!

Derek specifically told me that this place is turning into "The new hip underground jam place!" The good news is that there is absolutely no cover charge!! Derek said that it is very important that all you guys wear either a Ytsejam shirt or some other type of DT shit, and that you come up and say hi to him. He told me that the gig starts around 11:00, but I would call to make sure. The number of this place is 516-499-2708. You can call for directions! All I know is that it's in Elwood, LI on Jerico turnpike and Cuba Hill rd.

Well, that's basically the extent of my knowledge. If you have any questions you can e-mail me and I'll do my best. I know Derek's number now so I could ask him any of your questions! I think we should have a small informal Ytsejam get together before the show. I'll talk to Derek and see if he'd dig that! Well, that's all for now!! See ya'll later!

    Later, Robb

    **Daniel McCormack <dmc@dreamt.org> Writes

That sounds like a good idea. anyone know of any reason why it wouldn't work? I'm not really clear on this (I have/had both Illusions but I bought them a year or so after they were released); if they released 2 CDs, a la GNR Illusions, are the 2 CD's released at the same time? That would be ideal... we can get the equivalent of a double-cd but other people aren't forced to.

    **KEU REPLIES

The only thing wrong with that is the fact that ALOT of people and Critics will think DT is Calling it Quits. Look at GnR. Havent made a new GOOD CD since illusions Smash Pumpinkins... Released a 2 cd Thinngy. and thats all they are doing No more. I would rather See DT hold out on a CD and wait till Progressive Music is Back (witch it will be) then waste their creativeness now in the "Alternitive era"..
