I saw another post asking about a new Ytsejam Tshirt... I'm working on
it... The new shirts will go into production sometime after next
weekend, and shipping should begin in mid October. I'm not going to
waste 'jam space now with updates, I'll wait till I'm further along...
    For more information, check out:

    http://www.phlab.missouri.edu/~c675311/ytsejam/

I am accepting pre orders at this time, pics and info can all be found on
    the page.

I got email from a Euro-Yammer the other day asking me about overseas
shipping... I hadn't really concidered this until now, but I will look
    into pricing on that.

IME is "I Mother Earth." They opened for DT for the 1st leg of the Awake

Hiya, there kids. Syrinx here with a after-even wrapup.

If _ANY_ of you had a chance to go see Ethyl Mertz this evening and
didn't, then you need to kick yourself. hard. right in the keester. it
rocked so hard. there were jammers-a-plenty, and it just kicked ass.

derek was there (obvsiously), and mike and john p. showed up
later (but more on that in a minute). first off, the band rocked. derek
can play. grey sm(is it yth or ith?) kicks alot of ass on bass. Al
Petrelli was ther, and man, is he short. the drummer kicked much ass.
after a while of songs we all knew and loved, then stopped. :(

mike and john showed up with their respectable wives, and mrs.
myung showed up as well. mike was pleased to see us (as well as derek.
we were known as "ytsejam alley" on quite a few occasions), and had alot
to say on the new album.

1: he wants a double. whether he gets it is a different story.
he's gonna fight for it (and hey, when did we want something that Mike
    _didn't_ want, eh?)

2: they're going to start recording soon. real soon.

3: mike was almost certain metropolis pt. 2 is gonna be on the
    new album.

after tonight, i have a lot of respect for mike. he talked to us
like equals, and expressed his opinions on the rush tribute, chromakey,
what _HE_ listens to (both mike and i STRONGLY erge you guys to get the
new I MOTHER EARTH album. he told me i should get SPOCK'S BEARD, which
i'm going to do after i finish this post). he's just a great guy.

so, after a bit, john, mike, derek, and greg sm(y/i)th played a
improvised set. wow. i've never seen mike drum up close, and wow. it
makes me want to start drumming again.

to all the jammers: rachel, digital boy, ibanez (who's currently
sleeping in the room next door), mirthander (however the hell it's
spelled), mojoman, jeff chew, everybody: it was a pleasure seeing most
of you again (and some of you for the first time), and con isn't coming
    soon enough.

one thing, tho. derek needs to stop smokin'. maybe i'm just old
fashioned, but after a show, i don't need to get high. i expected a
little more class, maybe. maybe i don't know what the hell i'm talking
about. maybe it's 5:50am and i've been up 24 hours and i just walked in
from the show 10 minutes ago. fuck this. i'm tired. i'm off to bed.

g'night all, and may all your ytsedreams come true.

    syrinx.

    Hey jammers,
I just read this little article about the Rush Tribute album in the 'Metal
Hammer', which is a german Rock magazine.

    Quote:
"In North America Rush per law have prevented that this Tribute- album might
ever appear. Because, how they quoted, an estate of this type first then
makes sense, if a band ceases to exist. And thank God, in the case of Rush,
that's out of question! To the topic: Performing the songs better than rush
themself isn't possible anyway. Why therefore the songs not wholly turn
upside down? Nothing like that happened. Therefore big aggravation. And that
despite this star-cast: Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm Mike Portnoy, Deen
Castronovo, Sebastian Bach, James LaBrie, Ray Alder, Eric Martin, Devin
    Townshend, Jake E. Lee etc.

                                                                            After
all: Nobosy needs this, sure: craftly good, but cold, without emotions and
    played wholly worth-free. Ugh..."

I do have to apologize for my EWnglish. I'm still working on it ;-)

So, you see not only fans from North America, Canada or so do discuss this
    album...
Even in Germany they have fans.

    So long,
    Scarred1

            Oh Man....

After all of the crazy shit I went through this week, I needed this...I
    really did!!!!!!

You see...I drank a little too much tequila, a little too much beer, and
smoked a really DISGUSTING Cigar!!!! AND I LIKED THE SHIT, MAN!!!!!! So
before I even begin...I'll have you know, God Damnit, That I had a fucking
great mutha fucking time last night.....the only thing that would have
made it better was if I actually got D-Man in the back of the head with my
Molson Ice spray...instead of some geek wearing an Alice Cooper
shirt.....and since I did get this other guy...I would have prefered to
beat his ass to oblivion, because It would have been fun....

Ethyl Mertz: as a cover band they are really good....as most of you
know...Derek kicks ass...Greg Smith...their Bass player (who is Richie
Blackmores player) is a friend of D-Man's and Mine and he was right
one....Their Drummer is good ( I'm not sure who he is again...Mithduck
would know...John???) Al Pitrelli is good....real good....but I find it
difficult to watch him anymore...cause he calls too many shots!!!! He's
really cocky....and I don't think he deserves to be...I remember when Al
was trying to tell Petrucci what chords to go to....It was
pathetic...especially since John Petrucci wiped his ass with Al and Al's
own guitar. Their singer.....he's an ok singer....I dn't know who he
is....and Im not sure who I want to know.....He's too much of a dick for
    me!

best quote in reference to Ethyl Mertz, by my brother Mike Benenati:
" Hey, this band is good...I think the keyboardist and bass player are
    good....seem like good people....but man.....I don't know if I could trust
that fucking singer with 2 dollars...he looks like he would steal the
shit....and the guitarist (Al Pitrelli) looks like he hits 7-elevens for a
    living..."

The Dream Theater/Smith Jam: Hmmmm.....Interesting...this was the place
where you got to see a friend of mine jam with dt....Mike Porntoy kick
some but....and John Petrucci wipe his anus with Al Pitrelli......I'm
actually glad Myung didnt show up....I think there would be a breakdown in
communication between Greg Smith and Myung during the basss swap....

The Ytsejammers: You know....it's weird....I never realized how cool some
of these guys are....I guess It's never too late to find that out.....
    * Syrinx is one of the all time sickest minds you ever meet. If ever
there was a guy to drink with...it was Mike!!!!!
    * Rob Barker ???? you know, the guy that beat the shit out of Happy
Gilmore???? Oh man!!! You rule dude......you're even a pretty good
    guitar Player.... ;)
    * Wild Koba : Dude....How can I get a shirt of yours!!!??????
    * D-Man : I think it would have been better if you took a shower before
    you came.....
    * Mithrander : John, I would say it was one of our more interesting
    nights....how about you?
    * Wisha : I think she was about to melt when I said goodbye to
her.....since John Petrucci was 3 feet away...
    * Wison Cat : Hey...this guy is pretty cool....at least I hope so...Im
gonna recruit the boy for my band!

Oh well...anyway...It was a cool evening......we gotta do this more
    often!

hey there...i have been away for three weeks, and upon my return had 31 jam's in my box. so, instead of reading all of them, i deleted all but two. (when i told my friend of this, he nearly ripped my head off, since he's a devoted DT fan, and considers it sacriligious to erase/harm/curse anything that has to do with DT) so i promised him i'd post and ask the question: have i missed anything on the new album? new song titles? release date? anything? any info would be greatly appreciated, considering my friend who almost killed me is moving to Penn. on tuesday and we won't be able to communicate for awhile... last but not least...(NDTC) anyone see the Primetime Live interview with Tori? i made my parents watch it with me. (i love torturing them) :)

For all of you who did not make it to Derek's b-day bash last night I just want you to know you missed out on a great show. I know others will probably give a better review than myself, so I defer reviews to them, but I just wanted to say:

    WOW!!

    I mean, WOW!

    Really! WOW!!

It was great meeting up with the few Jammers I had already met, and the others I only knew from the JAM. You know, I did have a question: When we refer to the JAM online, it does not pose any problem of identification, however, in person there is some question (at least in MY mind) as to the pronunciation of "YTSEJAM". I say it like "why-tsee-jam", but I know others who say "yee-tsee-jam". Is there an OFFICIAL pronunciation???

I am now looking forward to the YTsecon. If some of you are not sure if you are going or not, consider this: DT is doing this FOR US, it is an attempt by them to recognize our dedication to them. I have rarely ever heard of a band of their stature PLANNING anything like this (I have heard a lot of other spontaneous acts, but..). SO I see it as our job to make the CON as good of an experience for them as it will be for us. If you can, go to the Ytsecon, GO!!

I will now return you to your regularly scheduled PROGramming....

The clinic is way south. Between W. palm beach and Ft. Lauderdale. Take 95 south until you reach Sample road and go west. So you don't miss it, on 95, the roads go like this: Glades, Palmetto, Hillsboro, 10th, Sample. When on Sample road, it will be in a shopping center on your left right before State road 441 wich passed above the road. ON the right side is a Toyota dealer and a Dodge dealer. The store is called Sam Ash music. Its a big store that originated from New York. Its kinda really far for you though, but that's how you get there.

Could you answer something for me. I am new to ytsejam. How do you reply to stuff in the digest like threads to other stuff? thanx :)
