I think it was Scott who wrote about the accident at
the Metallica show. You know what ? That also happened
in Finland and first we thought that really was an
accident 'cos the guys seemed so confused. But as we
started thinking about it and looking around we thought
that had to be planned. And later on I met my ex who
was a roadie for them and he told me that it all was
planned..and I think it was him who told me that it
was at some magazine too. So, I think that's it.
Otherwise makes me wonder how James can stand a thing
like this. Didn't he burn his hand some years ago at
an accident on stage with those firethings ?? At least
I remember so. But then again I'm kinda senile..what's
my name anyway ???(Or was it Kirk who burned his hand..)

Hello Jammers. I have good news and bad news. The pictures
I took at TGIF came out great, but the one I took outside
didn't come out. It came out real dark. I can hardly tell who
is who. If you want any of the pictures that DID come out,
e-mail ME at gsrockr@en.com.

I bought one of these people's CDs at one time. Pretty kewl, but I
took it back. It was too strange for me at the time, but I kinda
wish I could listen to it again. Wasn't the chick the sang for these
guys the same one who sang for the Eurithmics? Can't remember,
though, I think her name was Annie Lennox... Just my $.03 on that.

>>Egads, no! Natural Science would be kewl, but I swear that next to
Dog Years, Time and Motion was my least favorite song of that album.<<
Well, ya never know, if DT does T&M, perhaps you'll love it! :) Just
remember that T&M IS the best song on T4E (okay, okay, I'll add an IMO in
there!) :) It's funny tho, I'd expect most DT fans would love T&M. What do
the rest of you Jammers think of that tune?
>>I dunno, though, after all the flak that's been thrown around after
the whole Rush tribute album mess, my respect for the band has been
lost and DT would likely avoid doing covers of theirs immensely.
After that last post from Geddy's interview, they have regained some
respect with me. If it weren't for Neil's pompous ride my wee little
bikey accross New York I'm cooler than shit attitude, I think I'd
like the band alot more. Band members attitudes really make an
impact to me and influence how I listen to their music. I dunno why,
maybe I'm screwed up. Maybe that's why I used to like Blind Melon
but can't stand 'em anymore... Just a thought.<<
Well, IMO BM (<--- same initials as "bowel movement" - coincidence? I think
not) just plain sucks so we'll just leave that alone.
As to Rush's attitudes, they've never really bothered me to the point of
affecting my listening to them. And if you think that Neil is nothing but
stuck up, remember that for the longest time he did personally answer letters
that fans wrote to him (that is until ton's of them came in, but that's a
different story) - I should know, becuz I got one. IMO, he is very
opinionated and very private, but I really don't think he's arrogant - I mean
the guy took drum lessons after playing drums for 20 (or is it 30) some odd
years and has been labelled as the best drummer in the world - I think he's
humble but he has a difficult time accepting the praise that most people
shower him with. He probably doesn't like being put on a pedestal.
As to the Tribute thing, I felt the same way you did, until I read what Geddy
said - then everything fit into place. While I wish Rush would acknowledge it
from the standpoint that those involved in the project really tried to show
how important Rush has been in their lives, I understand how Rush thinks the
whole tribute thing has become a joke - it has. At first there was the
Hendrix tribute, which was great, but then a couple million more tributes have
been popping up, as if it were the next music craze (perhaps the next craze
after alternative dies out?) and really, its the record companies who are
benefitting the most.
Getting back to what tunez DT should cover, anybody wanna keep track of what
songs everybody suggests? Maybe we could send the list in and see what they
think...maybe not. And while I'm thinking about it, who would like to see DT
do a full fledged acoustic show? I mean Acoustic Dreams is already a taste of
what could be done, but what about a full 60 to 90 min set? What could each
of you (realistically) envision DT doing for an acoustic show?

Order Album + The Thin Line, Marillion's Hotel Hobbies, Warm, Wet
Circles, and That Time of the Night (The Shortest Straw). I dunno,
Cemetery Gates would be a good one I think...<<
I just remembered another thing for DT to do. I don't like Slayer very much,
but I do gotta admit that *some* of the slow parts in *some* of their songs
are *very* cool. I'm thinking of the first part of Hell Awaits and some parts
of Raining Blood, for instance. Do a medley of them, mix in a good portion of
Megadeth's Into the Lungs of Hell (awseome instrumental), the end of Call of
Ktulu (Metallica) and perhaps some other cool parts from other various
thrash/speed metal songs. (Course Derek better not leave the stage for this
medley - I wanna see what kinda stuff he can come up with for these tunes -
maybe double the guitar with some cool sounds during some parts?) Whaddaya
think? Oh and one other song to cover - Iron Maiden's Caught Somewhere in
Time - the solos during that song, the way Adrian and Dave trade off are cool
- JP and Derek (with his keyboard) could do that.

The DTIFC is certainly worth joining, Neil Elliot does a great job.
According to Neil, on page three of I&W 12, 'If you are not in the
fan club at the time of this mailing, then you will have missed out on
owning a unique piece of DT history. No further copies will be made
available, as this is a one off limited edition pressing'. So it
looks like that you have missed out. IMO if your only reason for
joining is to get the CD you are doing it for the wrong reason, and I
hope you don't get one. This is not a flame, just an opinion.
In any case I still would like the info on getting the Superior cd.
The Superior album is superb, one of the best releases all year, I
know that it is hard to get, I haven't seen it on the shelves here in
Australia, nor have I seen it in any of the online stores. I know
that Guitarist Bernd Basmer is working on this problem.

have to mellow out somewhat and he's such a demon I dunno if he
could. ( :P I know he could :P ).
The acoutic To Live Forever rokz nadz. If they professionally
re-recorded it that would work. Eve would be good, as with
Surrounded and Lifting Shadows. Covers they could do acoutically
could be I Dream In Infrared, and (Grin) Everything Under the Sun.
Comfortably Numb would be nice, as with mebbe Infinite Dreams. I
dunno. I can't really see what they COULD do for an acoustic set,
but I'm sure I'd love it no matter what it was. :P Anyway, These are

OK, I figured I try to see if anybody out there knows where I can find one
of these.
I'd like a DT IAW shirt. I saw one in Concert Express/Rockabilia's
catalog, but then they didn't have it and after 8 months I just had them
send me an Awake shirt. That was a year and a half ago, and I've decided
again to see if I can locate one of those IAW shirts.
The shirt I am looking for is a black XL (most tshirts in my dresser). I'm
not sure what it has on the back, but on the front it has a band pic from
the IAW days. Kev is on it and he's on the end facing sideways. That's
the only way I know how to explain it. Short or long sleeve is cool with
me (whatever's out there).
If anybody has a good condition one to sell, or if you know of a place that
has it, let me know via email (dantemm@erinet.com).
Thanks,

shorter one, entitled "*Another* Post From Ol' Man Henderson!". Oddly
enough this first post, which was written before the second
(coiincidentally enough, first before second and all), did not appear in

Yeah. I got that shirt. Fits me tighter than Niki Taylor's spandex
bike shorts, too. (heheh). The only prob is, my drmmuer kiped it
from me at work one day and has taken possession of it ever since.
Otherwise I'd sell it to you. It's only a large and is rather faded
since it's a couple of years old. The front says Images and Words
and has the band pic on the front with Dream Theater enscribed. The
back says, "Find all you need in Your Mind" (I think) and has their
signatures on it. It's a rad shirt, I'm gonna get it back, but it's
gonna be a keepsake for me so my kids will see that their dad was a
long-hared hippie from the 90s. :) If I ever have kids. (Fear!)
Anyway, that's the full decription of the shirt you're looking for.
Maybe contact Rocktoys and see if they can find it for you. I've
gone to a couple of Cd stores before and picked up some old concert
shirts there. Good Luck!

Derek identified me as a Jammer after-show by my shirt ("Hey, I wore
that shirt onstage last week!") and asked me to convey his thoughts
back to the Jam about one topic. Regarding his penchant for
rearranging some of Kevin's more obvious keyboard parts when they
play live, he said "I play them differently because that's my
only shot at 'airtime.'" I.e., when he's featured in a song or
during a bridge or whatever; that's when the spotlight is on him.
To me, this isn't an unreasonable attitude. During the show I noticed
some differences between his keyboard parts and KevMo's, but nothing I
was really offended by.... Not that I'm any sort of keyboards expert,
but for me the show wasn't imperiled or ruined by Derek's modifications.
At least DT is letting their newcomer into the mix; Jason Newsted wasn't
so lucky. :)
He went on to say more, but (sorry, Derek!).. I Won't Go There. :)

Whats up guys,
I just want to thank everyone who's written to me about my show and how amazing it would be if they could here this on commercial stations as well..your support meant a lot to me since it was basically the majority of the feedback I was getting (I bet the squirels on campus could recieve it better than some dorms...next semester they're supposed to get direct hookup to the dorms and cafeterias through the college's cable station!..that should be awesome!) . The students there really didnt seem to be into it that much. I'm still not sure if its worth my time and effort to do it next semester since I'll be interning and up to my ass in thesis rewrites and other fun stuff. Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely love playing this music in the hopes I will turn some people on to a different musical style or band which they have never heard and they are interested simply due to the fact that they heard music which was creative and complex and not popular simply due to trends! Again, the feedback over the 'net has been beyond any hopes I might have had when I decided to post my setlists, because I figured people would get a kick out of 'em. Well, its been an awesome run and I'm glad I had some kind of a helping hand in getting people into bands like ELDRITCH, CLOCKWORK, and HELSTAR! Simply music that is too good to let slip by...... Here is my final setlist for the semester. I stated in my very first post that I planned an instrumental show sometime and I'm glad it actually worked out. I went into the studio a lot earlier than usual so I could broadcast longer in order to get most of my favorite instrumentals on the air. I KNOW that there are tons of bands I left out, but, after all, I'm just a college student and all the cd's I play each week are right out of my own collection.
