Well, is it "Unplugged and Other Stories"? I have that one...it's a pretty
good bootleg. It has the songs QR did on MTV Unplugged...has a bit of
background hiss, but pretty decent sound. It also has two (?) sets of shows
from Tokyo from the 1980's...the sound quality on those tracks is
lower...you can tell that someone used a tape recorder either to record or
    to copy those tracks...
    Hope this helps!

I heard that DT did Damage Inc on the fan club cd. DId this happen to have vocals to it as well or is it just an instrumental version??? My brother is a huge Mettalica fan....he thinks Dream Theater sucks because they have a "faggot singer" Just because James LaBrie's voice is high and he actually has a huge range doesn't mean he is a faggot. James Hetfield's voice actually sucks im my opinion. Deam Theater could blow Metallica off the stage at any time...also DT could play any Metallica tune with ease...but I would bet a million dollars that Metallica could never play ANY Dt tune if their life depended on it.....reply to me about this!!!!! Later.

korg x3 (btw, i actually own an x2, which is just as funky):

it wasn't annie lennox. it's annie haslam who sang for renaissance. that was funny as hell when i read that post of yours, though. as interesting as that may have been, no, it wasn't lennox. but i'm going to have to keep that in mind from now on.

and someone tell me why am i actually listening to wdadu? i was actually listening to the ORIGINAL ytsejam! yikes. what's wrong with me.

as for elegant dt covers, i think that tool song where the german guy goes off would be a good start.

but more seriously, here's some ideas: "trip to the fair" -renaissance "secret world" -peter gabriel "purple rain" -prince. i think jp would jizz on his panties soloing over that (and he DOES wear panties- he's the true homo of the band- he told me), and if DAVID GILMOUR did it........ "revealing science of god" -yes "suite sister mary"- ryche

speaking of gilmour, does ANYONE IN THE WORLD (or the ytsejam) know about this special where he did "purple rain". i swear to god, i ran into this about 2 years ago on VH1, and it was like some special or something, and david gilmour was jamming on "purple rain". i almost lost it. and then they went to commercial and then it was over, and i have no clue who did it or what it was about. ANYONE who can tell me about, or has a copy of it, or knows someone will get a HANDSOME REWARD for this.

    anyways, enough. yadda yadda yadda

I believe that 78:59 is the max time on a cd. The last song on Load, The Outlaw Torn, slowly fades out until the last possible second.

I got these cds over the past weekend:

Tempest: Turn of the Wheel-Basically Irish/Celtic rock. Has a very few heavy prog moments. Great stuff if you like that kind of music.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra-This cd rocks! Best Christmas cd I have ever heard. Just listening to the music and it feels like Dead Winter Dead Pt 2. Chris Caferty jams on this. Great concept album.

Speaking of TSO. A couple of minutes ago in my car I flipped to a top 40 station and low and behold Christmas Eve/Sarajevo was on. I was amazed. I never thought I would ever hear Savatage in the DC/VA/MD area.

I think it's a Japanese version,I've never heard about Korean version of WDADU. Considering the music scene in Korea,it wouldn't happen. Asian music scene(Korea,Hong Kong,Singapore) have been becoming huge. There'll be big market there in the near future.

WDADU thing...Please check the writing of record company name out. I think you can find MCA Victor on it. This album was originally released from Warner Pioneer, but Matusita(Panasonic) bought MCA so MCA back catalogues were re-released from new company (at that time) MCA Victor in Japan.

I hope this message will help you.

Iommi joined Tull after their original guitarist left. He stayed for a little while (not more than a few months - I don't remember off hand exactly how long), and then quit, saying that he thought they really sucked and he couldn't stand their music. He never recorded anything with them.

Personally, I like JT a lot, but many people don't, I guess. I saw them in concert a few months ago with ELP and they were really good - heavier than I expected. Their guitar player, Martin Barre, was a madman! That guy is good. Check out any of his solo CD's to really get an idea of what he can do.

I was never a part of the old fanclub, but I have been a subscriber to the I&W fanzine since issue number 5 (and since subscribing to I&W is part of the new fanclub, I'm in the fanclub now). Anyway, I just wanted to say that getting I&W is very cool. It provides interviews with the band and gives you the most up-to-date info on the progress of the band, that is unless you have one of the band member's phone numbers. I highly recommend signing up to the fan club, just for the fanzine (let alone the CD) - if you love DT, I'm sure you'll love the fanzine. And just to let everyone know, I'm in no way connected to Neil - just a happy subscriber. BTW, I never did mention it, so "Thanx DT and Neil for the cool CD!!"

When this thread was either here or on a usenet group I read, some people had some CDs that were over 80 minutes. There were greatest hits CDs that went about 82 minutes. I don't think they paid $100 a piece for the CD. Maybe the $100 referred to the mastering cost of the CD masters or something.

Seriously, IMO, it would be good to see a song of theirs on a movie soundtrack. It couldn't hurt.

There are different types of movies that could be made and there's probably one that could be perfect to have DT put one of their songs on it. Who knows?

Hey guys, this is my first message to this listserve. I've been hanging out on the Megadeth one for a while. It's time to broaden my horizons. Actually, I've been listening to DT for a number of years. I must say, everytime I listen to the band play, I'm impressed. The complexity of their music is amazing. I can't imagine many other bands that could duplicate it. Especially Mike Portnoy's drumming. Man, I played drums for about 4 years, and I KNOW that his music is some of the hardest on the planet. In some songs, he's playing in a different time signature on each hand and foot! I would love to see it live.

By the way, I know this is a common topic, but since I just joined,is there an update on when the new CD is coming out?

    Later,

    Adam

P.S.: FYI, a new Megadeth CD is due out early Spring '97. It's in the mastering stage now...)
