couldn't figure them out... hehe :)

    Yo DT'ers,

To the guys who asked about Kings X - Building Blox. It does exist !! I
bought it for $20 when I was in New York 18 months ago (I live in England so
bought 15 CDs when I was there ! ). It is a promotional thing put together by
Atlantic, however it does have 1 rare-ish track, Shot Of Love (acoustic
    version).

Cool... now that everything is moving around... let me say something... a
lot of you have not been able to access the Dream Theater archives because
Netcom is simply to much of a hogged planet (way too busy) so the Archives
are going to be moving to a new site soon... a high-speed site... in
fact... my OWN site... so keep an eye out for that...

I have a copy of this show on tape (thanx Ties!), and even though I know alot of people wouldn't agree, I think this is -THE- boot to have! I have a few 'good' ones, like Mind Control, Dream Out Loud, Majestic Harmonies, the Dusseldorf gig, but Skyway just seems to capture the essence of a Dream Theater concert better than any of them. I mean, put on the headphones, and crank it -really- loud, till your ears hurt. Turn off the lights, close your eyes.... it's like you were there!!

Anyways, the whole point of this post is this: I think Skyway of Nightmares is an amazing recording. Even though it's a little distant, and James' voice is sometimes hard to hear, the show is very crisp... no sign of distortion, and the crowd noise is great (live boots should have lots of good cheering and applause, right?) OK, now to the point:

Does anyone know how this recording was made? Analog or DAT, what kind of mics,etc....? It was recorded in Augsburg Germany, late '93 I think (don't have it in front of me). Thanx for any help!

    Hello Jammers,

    Welcome to the AX!

DT Doom2 Level -------------- I've had this on the computer for a few weeks, finally got to play it last night. Wonderful work Dave! The design is beautiful and the Web area in the sky was my favorite part. Definitely more interesting than the normal Doom 2 levels, and great DT sound clips. Thanks again for bringing this to us fans. Now all we need is a Dark Forces level where you can be John Petrucci blasting away at 3 chord guitarists. <grin>

I&W Laserdisk ------------- Thanks to everyone who has taken time out to help me with this. I still need a catalog number, so if anyone actually has this, please mail me with the catalog number for the discography. I guess the next step is to offer a reward or assume that this thing doesn't exist.

    Later,

    Mike

    Dear jammers,

I read the last post on the arastar ytsejam mailing list, it brought out a few tears (sniff), and I think that this list is something beyond a bunch of people who like Dream Theater (okay, I'm getting too sentimental, I'd better stop now!)

But anyways, I wanted to post on the ax.com ytsejam mailing list just for the hell of it. Yes!!! An unmoderated list!!! That means I can have a REALLY long sig!!! That means I can quote the entire previous digest! Or, even that last several digests!! Yes!!!Okay, so maybe I won't do that, but I can still post meaningless posts like this one!

Well, just wanted to welcome in the new ytsejam list!! Long live Bafu, and find all you need in your mind if you Take the Time!

It should coincide with DT's new album. Perhaps they'll tour together?

Ytse-Ben looks around his new home. He dusts off the furniture and rearranges a few chairs.

Ytse-Ben looks in the refrigerator, pulls out the orange juice. The cap is missing, and the jug is empty. He furrows his brow in deep thought...you know, like they do in the movies? Ytse-Ben walks into the living room. Eve is playing. He wonders who put that on as he walks down the hall.

Ytse-Ben enters the bedroom. It's nice. He proceeds to the bathroom door and opens it.

Ytse-Ben screams, for BafuVai is in the shower singing a mangled version of Metropolis.

Bafu doesn't seem to notice Ytse-Ben's presence...so he tiptoes over to the toilet.

    Ytse-Ben flushes.

I wanted to say something to the absolute idiot on here who posted about Maiden's new album.

    - So the album is very controverse, the classic -maiden's sound has changed a bit with heavier -guitars (frequently D-tuned), -very emphasized bass and,of course, the same -shitty drum style of Nicko McBrain. Wht the hell you talking about, maiden hasn't detuned there guitars on ANY iron Maiden song they've released. As for Nicko..he's one of the best single kick drummers in the world, if not the fastest one. -But the real new thing is the new vocalist, Mr. -Blaze Bayley, who is many times greatly tone-deaf. If blaze was tone deaf, I don't think Steve would have picked him to be the new singer, maybe your the tone deaf one? - but Steve Harris told him to clone Bruce's style. -So when Blaze screams and rocks (what he -made in Wolfsbane) he sounds good, when clones -Bruce he goes out of tone. But -the main problem of "X-factor" (the X means -Blaze,Steve Harris said) is the -cheap song quality. What drugs are you on you fool? Blaze was never MEANT to be a fill in for Bruce, he was the man REPLACING Bruce..BIG difference. How can he clone Bruce if his voice range is totally different? - There is only one great track,at the highness of -the name Iron Maiden, and this is the opener "The -Sign Of the Cross"; this 10 minutes -song could be inserted in Powerslave, really. Then -there are two songs, "Thy -Lord of the flies" and "man on the edge", that are -nothing more than pretty. You are truly fucked up. It's "Lord of the Flies" If you had the cd you'd actually know that. As for these insert into the powerslave era...your truly losing it, how drunk are you at this point? -The track in which Mr.Bayley goes more out of -tone is "Look for the truth" -(intro part, I never listened anything like it!!) and -the best-singed song is -"the sign...", really ok (except a pair of faults). You just said that Look for the truth is good...you are truly stupid. That's best "sung" song. And thats Sign of The Cross -When I have gone to the show, the band looked -really better, specially -Mr.Bayley,who sung in an acceptable way the -new stuff, but really destroyed -the all-time Maiden Hits specially "Hallowed.." -and "Heaven can Wait" (does -anyone said that this is a classic??). But the failure of X-factor (lack of -quality of course, not lack of success) is surely the -low song quality level -and Mr.bayley has no responsability in that. There -are some heavy problems: I Highly doubt you went to the concert you idiot. They haven't come your way yet, god you are so stupid. -1) Mr.Steve Harris must try something different -in songwriting or go home Harris is Brilliant, this is where you get into opinion...the rest you wrote was bullshit and just a drunk cry for help. -) Mr.Gers must get out from Iron Maiden and -specially HE SHOULD NOT COMPOSE - ANYMORE. Almost every track he made from -when he got into Maiden is - disappointing (one for all: Weekend Warriors -from Fear of the dark). He is - a cheap player (his rythm playing on stage is -irritating) and a shit of - composer. Actually, listen to Bruce's Tattooed Millionaire cd, Jannick is suprisingly good on it. -3) If the Irons want to change their musical -style,they have to change the - drummer (even the Ac-dc may refuse -Mr.McBrain). You are SOOOOO stupid. Even "the Ac-dc" gosh dude, I always thought it said "Ac/Dc" on their records. -4) and finally..if Irons intend to make another -album like X-factor,i - suggest them to go home without destroying a -legend like Iron Maiden. Its idiots like you that destry Maiden, get a life and get lost. You have no clue what your talking about and probably don't even know the name of the other guitarist in Maiden. -I hope that your doubts are cleared and I wait for -your opinions. -Bye My doubts are clear, clear that your an idiot.

The one thing I want to see is a iron Maiden, Fates Warning, Dream Theater tour. DT already opened for Maiden in New York, at the ritz during the Fear of the Dark Tour, so, why not keep going. This would be a totally cool concert, especially Maiden's new direction with their music.

What would even be cooler is a bass off between Harris, Myung and DiBiase. Even a guitar war against all 3 guitarists, I'm excluding jannick here, we know he'd lose :) Having a drum off between the 3 drummers would be incredible. Nicko is probably the fastest single kick drummer and MP and who ever is doing drums for FW now, are damn good also. Vocal wise...thats all personal choice but I'd love to see something like this happen, its too bad maiden didn't play on the DT ACOS cd or DT didn't cover a Maiden song, we all now Myung would have LOVED to do that. Maiden on a 6 string bass, what else can ya think of next :)
