Here are some of the few:

    Dream Theater: Images & Words

I had never really heard much of I&W before I bought it...
a few friends mentioned it was good, so I went out and well...
            the rest is sorta history

    Fates Warning: Parallels

Again, I had heard mention of them, but never really heard any
of it before buying. Have YTsejam to thank for listening to
            FW

    Dixie Dregs: Full Circle

Took this as a recommendation from Ytsejam, plus a song that
someone from Ytsejam (I forget who it even was, it was a while
ago) out one song onto as mix tape he sent me as part of a
            trade

I'm also wondering, how many of you would put DT onto this list, as I
    have?

It seems like these days that there aren't anymore heavy rock on = the radio. Everybody that was once cool ( Q 104.3 .... WRCN ) has changed their = formats for the worst. The only cool station still around is 92.3 They = better not change or there will be no cool stations to listen to anymore. Also = for those who haven't seen ID4, Go see it ASAP. It is awesome.

At least you can choice another station... Here in Sao Paulo - Brazil, = we have ONE "rock" radio that don't stop to play BonJovi:( all the day. = To tell the truth there's a realy cool rock station (that plays Sabbath, = Deep Purple, Rush and DT) but it's signal is so weak that 60% of the = sound is static...

    Brazil stuff... :(((

    Hi,

I'm not sure if anybody else has raised this yet:

In the LiT video, the scarf/banner with the Japanese writing that Kevin Moore has hanging down from the back of the keyboard appears to be upside-down.

Can any Japanese readers confirm this?

When I saw it for the first time I thought the same. But a Japanese friend of mine said that "things" are just doodles...

Syrinx told me last night that Crimson is doing some dates apart from horde, including two in New England. If I remember correctly, he mentioned a web page, but it's not coming to mind. Mike, care to clarify?

The very one. (Actually, it's Danniels with two N's, but who's counting? Oh, yeah, Dave is.) I'm actually surprised you didn't know that. Were you and I at the same show at Nassau Coliseum on the Balance tour? I remember complaining a lot that all of VH's graphics and screen thingies looked *a lot* like what Rush has been using. Remember the egg balanced on the bass? Looked a lot like the nut and bolt, for instance. Also, and here's why I thought you'd remember, Alex VH, imho, had stopped ripping off Bonham and had started ripping off Peart.

The more I think about it, the more I can see Sammy being less than pleased with SRO.

I have this great background for windows. It has the name (I know, I know, but listen anyway) and a M logo beneath it, in this silvery shadowy stuff on a black background. It looks really cool, and grabs your attention immediately. I think I got it as part of Gabbo's mIRC download. It's very elegant, very eye-catching.

    Sir Reality,

Sorry, I got behind on the jams again. What I remember happening was either KBPI or the Fox bought out KAZY which I listened to all the time, and while they were changing staff all they played was Alice's Restauraunt. I didn't catch it, but my dad did. He's from the 60's, he liked it. Now there is nothing good on the radio. Was it anyone else's happiest day when 92.x died? At least thet station playes halfway good classic rock now. It's better than alternative.

And about Denver? Yeah.....Mountains rule. (Rocky Mountain High is caused by lack of oxygen) Yeah.....Altitude rules.

I'd like to use this bandwidth to thank all the jammers For their concern about my dad. He's in a normal room now and we expect him home in a couple of weeks. Thanks again for all the support.

    Later, Cory

I'd disagree that Awake sounded better than I&W, especially in the drums. On I&W the kick was very tight and distinct, even on fast double bass sections. Awake's sound is muddy and sounds like I'm playing it through a cheap sub in a badly built box. TTT has a great double bass that's taught and with impact. Most of Awake came out boomy on the same high end system. I also like the snare tuning on I&W, but we've been all through that thread with ACOS.. :)

I think Jeff might be a bit too busy to update lifting shadows, but I _do_ have a 7/2/96 update, so anyone can e-mail me to get it. Oh yeah, Kevin Laferriere, can you e-mail me real quick? I'll give you the update, since you've always been cool about displaying it on your page.

Just glancing through the DT FAQ and saw this quote:

"First of all, it's the first lyric work Mike Portnoy did. (of course, it is not the only vocal work Mike ever did... Mike had the dubious privilege of singing the end of "Surrounded" after James walked off the stage at one of the 1993 England shows)"

Does anyone know if a tape of this show is available? If so I'd be happy to trade with anyone who has it. Let me know... Thanks...

Allright! How often do you see Prokofiev, Beethoven, Mozart, and "Wheel of Fortune" in the same discussion! :)

Hey, come on, Seth, are you saying that not everyone can write a moving, timeless symphony (#9, "Choral") while they're deaf? :)
