    Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted here. I figured I would since I recently
got a copy of Superior's cd.

Just wanted to say that I think it's a great cd. For anyone who still
doesn't have a copy, GET IT and FAST!! :)

I wanted to say great job to Bernd and the rest of the band. Looking
forward to the next release too :)

I also wanted to thank Jason Skewes again for working with the band on this
and getting them all out and so fast. Great job. :)

Well don't really have anything else to say, so till I post again (maybe in
about 6 months) bye all. :)

Hey, guys. There's a nice two page TAMA ad in the new Modern Drummer magazine
featuring MP. It shows his new kit and all that stuff. Just so y'all know. Later!

yo. mad props to the person who told me about the corea vs. vai thing.

my pants began to get very humid, and although you say the album still kinda blows, i just might want to get it anyhow. wowie.

i saw the top prog bands lists and the albums, and with a couple of major disagreements, it was not too bad. yeah.

well, in light of the "cd's unheard of" thread, i guess i might as well plug my used cd's deal again. i've been plugging this for ages, and i get a couple of sales here and there, so i'm hoping i can clear some more. yes, there are people who've actually bought cd's from me, and as far as i know, no problems. here is a small list:

here are the cd's i have for sale. prices are negotiable, so there is no set price. the average has been between 6-10 for a cd, unless they're something special (imports or boots).

queensryche- the warning alan parsons project- eve symphonic music of yes anacrusis- screams and whispers the best of emerson, lake and palmer higher learning soundtrack guns n roses- use your illusion 2 fight- immrotal sin single (autographed!!!! this is kinda special) the ultimate bbc collection- jimi hendrix 1967 (very weird import) prince- an american in paris (86 boot, another import) vai- sex and religion

any questions about set lists or pricing, email me please, and not the jam. i guarantee that every cd listed there is in perfectly good shape. why am i selling them you ask? i just don't want them. again, NOTHING WRONG with them. i hope someone says "what the hell?' and picks a new cd and maybe cool things happen. whatever. again, email me and not the jam for q's or info. thanks.

    peace out, you funky punks.

Soory, bub, but Awake is the happiest album I've ever heard. Try Death's "Symbolic" and Pantera's "Vulgar Display of Power". I'm sure, if you asked Rip, he'd say Morbid Angel's another good one. What fun is shooting people with The Silent Man in the background?!

I seriously actually resent that remark. I don't have them because I never found them anywhere and haven't gotten them dubbed. Does that make me any less of a DT fan than you?

Can someone tell me how I can get the following CD's (without having to pay like $30 for importing them...):

ANGRA : Angels Cry, Holy Land

    Hi,

I can get these for you. Here in Brazil, Angels Cry cost about R$ 16 (US$ 1.00=R$ 1.02) and the regular version of Holy Land R$ 20. I just don't know how much you'll pay for the mail, but I think it's about R$7 for each 100g .

First point being that the tidbit was FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW--given all these screwedup subscribe atempts on the Jam, I'm guessing we're getting a few new folx on this this here ship, who might not know wtf "Majesty" is.......which leads to.... Second point being that I was a DT fan long long time before I'd ever heard of "Majesty", or WDADU for that matter, and I think I was on Ytsejam for about 4 months before I heard the majesty demos

And, about the "when in rome" bit, they had this one song, called "the promise", that I remember as being absolutely cool, but I'm wondering if I'd think so if I heard it now (it was late 80s or early 90s pop)

OK.......as of Monday, July 8 there have been NO reservations of rooms at the Days Inn on Diversey (312-525-7010). This combined with the slight response I've gotten directly leads me to believe an over-organized Midwest Con isn't suitable at this time. It's summer vacation, the band won't be there, etc. No biggie.

I'd like to extend this, the rooms will still be available at the posted rate of $84/night for 4 people. I'll still play host to people who want to come in (about 8 said they'd be here) and party. Please lemme kno ASAP! E-mail me or call me at (312) 549-5853. I know of some killer parties that weekend and I can play partial tour guide for Chi-town newbies.

As far as an organized Con, however, I think the pooch has been screwed. Sorry, just no star power like Con III. Pat Griffin, I hope shirts can be aborted (or keep on sched. and just become the Mike Barh of t-shirts :) ).

Anyway, write me with comments/questions or concerns.

    LATER, Steve

I wanna know about the word tour of DT. Or I should say Europe tour. I am studying in Turkiye and I wanna know if it is possible or not; to see DT on stage.

Anyway what are you thinking about Metallica Load ?

Did you ever expected to find the new album like that or did you like it?

Apparently, i'm not a real DT fan (according to your criteria) 'cause i don't have the Majesty demos.

Look, Jon, this is NOT a flame, but don't put the guy down because he doesn't know what you know. It may well be his first post; he might not have been reading the Jam for too long to realize that there's people like you who know alot more about DT than he does.

Maybe in his world, he is the #1 DT fan. But now he's reaching out to other fans on the Jam and finding out he still has alot to learn (as do i). Instead of putting him down and making his first Jam experience a bad one, why not just give a lead on how to get the demos himself.

To me, a REAL DT fan is open-minded, and always looking to cultivate new fan interest and new friendships. Maybe i am a REAL DT fan after all. Are you, Jon?

    Tim

I've noticed some discussion of the absence of decent music on the "alternative" rock airwaves these days. I thought some of you might like to know that the Philadelphia station 94.1 WYSP, orignally a classic rock station which changed their format to include modern and "alternative," has played the following Rush songs recently: "Working Man" (for some reason this is in heavy rotation with bands like Metallica, Nirvana, Bush and those other grunge bands), "The Spirit of Radio," "Freewill" (I think), "Limelight," and others that I can't remember off hand, except that I was very surprised to hear them (may have been "Red Sector A" and/or "The Big Money"). This station plays mostly new stuff (Soundgarden, Def Leppard, Live, Metallica, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam) with occasional older Van Halen songs (along with the new ones) and a few other older bands (Led Zeppelin). I think Rush really stands out among their playlist; that's one of the reasons I listen to the station at all.

Hey folks. Here's the updated list. I need a couple of things from everyone. First, please make sure that your name, address, and (most important) number of attendees is right. Second, please try to clear up all these possibles and maybes as soon as you can.

Remember, hotel and airplane deals are available! Get in touch with Jeff. Prepaid attendance has been established at $20.00 per person.

It is *not* too late to decide to attend the YtseCon. Just mail me, and I'll put you on the list.

YtseCon III Attendees List Name <e-mail address> D/P + x D/P = I'm definite/possible and my x friends are definite/possible. Please check your name, address, and number of people attending for accuracy. Report problems to me, Chris Merlo, at d-man@dreamt.org or cmerlo@cs.uvm.edu.

I will NOT assume that you are or are not going, depending on where you live, or how long you have known me. If you plan to attend YtseCon III, and your name is not on this list, e-mail me and tell me explicitly that you plan to attend.

Also, please remember that I'm not in charge of the Ytsecon. I'm just collecting names. Jeff Chew (jc309@columbia.edu) is the man to ask administrative stuff (like, "When is the Con? Where will it be held?"). As it seems, the Con will be held in Queens, New York on the Saturday before Columbus Day, 10/12/96.
