    >>They have two albums that I know of, Angels Cry and Holy Land. Either one
of them would be a sure hit with Dream Theater fans and are hugely
recommended along with Superior by people I know and the general internet
buzz. Unfortunately, they are not available domestically, so you'll
probably end up paying more than a local CD to get them, but you won't
    regret it! <<

This is great news. I just ordered both Angra CD's and also the Superior CD.
That's brings me to a total of FIFTEEN CD's that I've gotten based upon
Ytsejammer recommendations. None of them has disappointed yet!!!

    HOOOOWDYY!!!!!

Me and some guys on IRC hatched this mother of a plan. Here goes. I want
to profile the average YTSEJAMMER!!! I will take all your responses and
find what the average jammer is REALLY like. All you have to do is answer
    these 4 SIMPLE questions:

    1. Are you a musician, and if so what instrument do you play?

    2. What is/was your grade point average? (high school, college, whatever
    you're prouder of.)

    3. Are you an athlete, and if so what sport do you play?

    4. What is your, (or your parents, depending on if you're in school or not)
    average yearley income?

The two number questions will be averaged when I post the results, and the
posted answers to the other questions will be based on the most frequent
    responses.

If I can get the addresses from michelobe, I will ask the same questions to
the Nirvana list and the Bad Religion list. I will compare results and draw
    conclusions.(hehe)

The results will be posted thursday August first. Get your answers in
quick, and all will run smoothly. No one will get hurt.=)

    Send all answers to swanson@henge.com

FYI, this is all done purely out of curiosity.

    Later,
    Cory

PS Thanks to all who were on IRC that helped out.

thats just the thing.... its like, if you have an album all about
winter, and all the songs are about the sharp coldness n everything...
but on the cover and all over the cd the artwork is blistering bright
red everywhere aand fire and stuff... i'm going to picture the red and
the fire everytime i hear that cd... its nothing i can help, its just
the way my mind functions through that type of thing... also-

bravo! beautifuly put man! i dunno if you caught this guys whole
paragraph but he seemed to have it in tact. :)

I'm kaing tentative plans to see this show -- if anyone else in the
Atlanta area is planning on coming for it, drop me a note in email and
we'll work out some sort of pre- and/or post-show
    meetin'/party/whatever.

I think the show's at the Masquerade, which is a sucky venue any way
you slice it (just ask Anthrax or Misfits), but it might be cool since
a friend o'mine has an all-access venue pass. Hmmm.....

Anyone into Steely Dan? Aw what the hell. I got a brief review of the 7-13 show they played down here in S. Florida. So just skip the post if yer not interested. :)

Shit, I don't remember what they opened with, but they stuck to most of their familiar tunes... Uh.. I wasn't like taking notes or anything, nor am I familiar with their entire catalog. Maybe it was the second-hand smoke. ;) The setlist was pretty similar to the one for the _Alive In America_ disc.. They played quite a few tunes off _Aja_ and 3 new songs from their forthcoming new album.

Overall, it was a good set, but my personal energy level kinda dropped off during the middle of the show. A power outtage in the middle of the show plus an intermission kinda broke the momentum, and I didn't feel particularly energized again until they kicked into "Kid Charlemagne," which was the last song before the encore.

The show closed with "My Old School." And I was thinking, JP would kick all sortsa ass playin' the guitar solos in that song, throwing in a signature lick here and there. :) (minimal DTC)

I haven't really seen Steely Dan mentioned a whole lot on this list, and I thought that some of you might dig 'em. Prog-rock/metal is awesome, but honestly, it does get stale after a while. Fagen and Becker have always surrounded themselves with top-notch musicians (not that they're too shabby either) in the studio and on the stage.

And for all you people that despise what's popular, they didn't play "Reelin' In The Years."

Helloe as if I were Dan Quayle... Anyway, I am about to move next week, and I have over 600 cd's. I would like input on how other people store their cd's in the house in an orderly, visually pleasing way. In my apartment I have been using an old ratty wooden bookcase, but that is getting thrown out when I move. I really don't want to put them in the plastic 90 cd crates because then everytime you buy a new cd you have to transfer each cd down one slot, and that gets pretty old when you have so many. I want the house to look nice, but don't want to buy a new bookcase just to put my cd collection on display. Any ideas? -- Kevin (kwmadden@usa.pipeline.com) GO PACKERS...GO WINGS!!!

    Hey,

I finally recieved my advanced copy of the Rush Tribute Album "Working Man" and i must say that this is, by far, the best Magna Carta Tribute to date.

My contact at Magna Carta says the release date WILL BE July 23rd, 1996 and the release pages at work say the 23rd as well.

I would strongly recommend getting this album.

I also got the the MC debut release from Altura. They're marketing this as Dream Theater meets Queensryche, but i think it sounds more like a slower version of Fates Warning.

    Later,

P.S. Like your Shadow Gallery Craig?

For anyone who cares (and I guess anyone who doesn't, cause you're reading this anyway...) Tori Amos will be in Toledo, Ohio on July 31, and tickets are still available. I will probably be going, even though I've never heard her. Anyone in the Ohio area who's interested can email me, and I'll get details back to you. Now some responses: >> You think you have problems with your mushy linguine? My >> hovercraft is full of eels!

I hate it when that happens...

    >You know, the CIA would probably read all this and think we're holed up >in a compound and requesting supplies. :)

Ha!! They've already come to my house twice. They said they were from the cable company, but I got suspicious when they got confused and began pretending to read the water meter.

    >John Myung is a little scary looking at the beginning. I think James scares Why? (never seen DT videos or concerts)

    >That's what I say.....but people still don't like it when I walk around >naked in public. Go figure.
