I think it is because all stations east of the Missisippi River start
with a W and west of the MIssisippi start with a K.

    Why? I dont know....

    Savatage HOR vs EOT
I prefer HOR more than EOT (barely). Both are great cds but I just
prefer Alex Skolnicks playing on EOT. Of course the song Chance is
    incredible on HOR.

I guess I can thank eMpTyV for getting me into Savatage. Afterall it was
the video Edge of Thorns that I saw on headbanger's ball that forced me
    to get the cd...

All radio and TV stations in the USA are assigned radio call signs
by the FCC. The first letter indicates the country of origin for the
station. The USA has been given the letters W and K to open their call
signs. This system was implemented by some international communications
commission as a way to keep track of other stations.

Exactly, man. I've gone through so much shit trying to get a damn
band together that I've thought about actually giving up bass, singing, and
listening to music altogether. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I have gotten
that bunch of nonsense out of my head (at least for the moment). Now, this
whole judging thing would do the same thing to about 100 jammers (approx).
I, myself, would fear a few really critical jammers being on this panel of
"judges." I'm not going to name names, but you know who you are.

    > Also, how could we vote on a panel of judges without knowing

    >would still be great. It could be a Jammers only thing which might

I personally think that the tapes idea is far better, because one
can only fit so much on one CD. Thus, leaving people out.

That's all from me...at least for now.

Just for the record, I was the one that banned Sledge. I can deal with
people that don't want to have a conversation, but merely show off their
alias-writing ability. I can deal with people that think it's fun to
    insult people and disrupt conversations.

But IRC use - and especially channel operator status - is a privilege.
If you're going to abuse what little power Skadz gives you, so be it.
But I will use what little power I have to protect the channel from
people that seem like they're trying to sabotage it.

I don't really care if you feel like acting like a dick. That's your
right. But you were out of line.

Sure. Connect to irc server itc.dreamt.org port 2112. With most systems, the command is:

    /server irc.dreamt.org 2112

Than, join the ytsejam channel with the command

    /join #ytsejam

That's it! We should all be there!

    Jammers,

Last night I attended the Galactic Cowboys concert at the Mason Jar in Phoenix AZ, with Mike Bahr & Company. Needless to say the show was great!!! I am sure you will hear more about that later from Mike.

Marty Friedman appeared as a specail guest for a recently signed Metal Blade band called Wardog. As it turns out he and the drummer for Wardog used to be in a Maryland based band called "Deuce" about 14 years ago. Long before Cacophony and Hawaii.

Afterwards, I was able to talk to with for a while. He really dug the Jason Becker shirt I was wearing, and we talked about Jason and his latest release for a while.

I asked him about his latest release "True Obsessions" and if and when it will be released in the US. He said that he was able to get a record deal in Japan, but has not been able to to so in Europe and the US yet. He is working on it, and says it is difficult (even for him) to get a contract in the US.

Check out the "Marty Zone" home page at

I guess that is about it.

    later,
