I would offer to assist in the collection process, but I'm
just about to start my much deserved holidays and may be away from the
    jam for a bit.
Therefore, I would suggest that Dave receive lists if he has
    no objection.
Make no mistake though. If I can make it to wherever this is
    being done, I WILL!!
Vocals are stronger for me on DTs stuff, so once we have an
idea of what we might be playing, I'll start rehearsing those songs
using a TASCAM setup and a vocal processor to remove James and insert
    myself.
I am unable to get access to the 8 track digital equipment
    that I mentioned earlier. :(
There is one other possibility, but I'm not counting on it at
    this time.
One other thought comes to mind. Are we going to be adding
rhythm guitar tracks to any of this stuff to flush it out? If we play
"live" that will be a great assist in establishing the wall of sound.

What station was that Mike? I suspect it was CHTZ HTZ-FM out
    of St. Catherines.
I'm surprised that they've even heard of DT!

Because alternashit has taken over the Canadian airwaves. When
was the last time you heard any 80s metal played on the radio?
Look at Rush. This is Canada's longest surviving original
touring band. The get minimal airplay now. It's pathetic and is one of
the reasons I seldom listen to the radio.
In fact, I get more stuff from net recommendations than
    anywhere else.

    >Question of the day: Could Bill and Ted's band be considered progressive?

Nope. If brains were dynamite, those two wouldn't have enough
combined to blow their noses. :)

Besides being a mental thing where music isn't your top priority, it could
also just be as technical as the fact that they don't have the money to buy
lots of CD's of bands that they've never heard before. Could be the case
there. I like PJ and some SP, btw.

Actually, I have lots of money coming to me in the next few months. Watching
neighbor's dog (they're RICH neighbors) for about $100, and going to be
designing a web page for somebody which could pay anywhere from $200 to
$1000. More, if he refers me to somebody else. Any other time you'd have
asked that, though, you'd be right...I'm poor a lot of the time. :-)

Yes, actually. Depending on how much money I end up with, I'd help pay for
other Jammers to get to wherever we'd record this.

I think what John did was really cool. A lot of people criticize this type
of lyric writing for being about D&D and crap like that, but John used these
types of lyrics to be imaginative and still meaningful. I got the lyrics on
the web somewhere, you should be able to find them if you do a web search.

            Heya all fellow yammerz!

Thank you Bernd and the other dudes for a GREAT cd! I've listened
it through for about 10 times in 3 days and I still haven't decided
which song I like the best/least! I love the piano sound and the
overall heaviness. The melodies on some songs just blow me away.
Could there be Queen influences in the last song, or am I imagi-
ning ? I seem to really like Michael's voice too (after getting
used to the german 'l's on earlier occasions ;) Great tone and
range. He uses singing high as I like it to be used: Occasionally
            and for effect.
That's all Superior worship for now =). Just wanted to convince
the ones who haven't yet gotten this to do so ! One of the best
cd's I have and certainly the best in '96 so far...

That's a VERY kewl name ! Not just the DT influence, but overall

PS. I hope Anna Lee is going to be a very special song. The reason
is that I have a pet peeve with songs named after the first name
of a woman. (Okies! Maybe a man too, but haven't seen many of
              those around lately.)

I just got back from Captiol University and the Mike Portnoy drum clinic!!
It was awesome...my '96 DT fix!!

Mike came out and first did a solo, and he threw the intro of "6:00" into a
    bit of it...

He also drummed the instrumental section to Metropolis (pt.1), and he
played along with a track for Erotomania. For Met Pt1, there was no
background track, so a bunch of DT-fanatics (myself included) sung the keys
and guitar parts...coolness! MP got a kick out of that...

MP also highlighted two of the NEW songs- "Lines In The Sand" [14 mins] and
"You or Me" [6 mins]. YoM sounds "more accessible," compared to most DT
stuff- so hopefully they can get some more fan following with maybe some
    more airplay. There's always hope...

The clinic was very informative. Really cool how he (and the rest of the
band) goes about writing parts for their songs. Another cool thing was
being in a room with about 125 (I'm guessing) DT fans!! Never been around
so many people who like DT (at one time)...can't wait for the '97 Tour!!

MP was sooooo cool!! Very nice guy. I asked him about the Rush Tribute
when he was signing my ACOS liner cover (complete with "carpe diem!" below
his name). He said that it was a blast to play on. He had to go back and
re-learn all of those songs that he grew up listening to. Can't wait until
Aug 6th...when it's *supposed* to come out in the States.

I meet Dave (Buster)- a fellow 'Jammer, and I guess he also created the DT
DOOM level...I don't know. I have a MacPerforma. Is it compatible with
the Mac DOOM software?? Where there any other 'Jammers there?

The Mesa Boogie Tri-Axis is JP's *LIVE* pre-amp. Granted, it's a fine piece
of equipment, but if you're somewhat big-time like DT, you're not going to
use rack units like that in the studio. The Tri-Axis + 2:90 power amp
combination is a logical choice since JP uses various Mesa Boogie heads and
    cabinets in the studio.

    Hey all ....

I've just had one of those days ... actually one
    of those weekends .... ugh.

            A few quickies ....

First, can people please not quotes the whole damn
post when the reply to part of a message? I've noticed
this alot lately. Just quote the part that is relevant
to what you are posting :) Danke muchos :)

Second, Dr Teeth asked about the new KMFDM....
not exactly like Nihil. Alot more electronic, alot
less guitar. I like it, but I like too much for my own
good :) (ask my 300+ CD collection :)

Third, Someone replied to my post about the new
stickers, they are SHOULD be up on my web page by midday
tommorrow (Monday) you will no longer have to listen,
you can see. (PS -> They do sound really nice though ;)

That's all. My body hates me because I consumed
a bit too much alcohol this weekend (including today)
so I am gonna go to sleep now.

    Night,
    Skadz

I'm at last considering getting into some Rush. However, I'm wondering
whether or not to start off with "Chronicles". I know it's a best of and
that you end up buying all the albums anyway if you like the music, but on
the other hand it's got 2112 on it. 2112 (the album) was recommended to
me-DT/FW-freak by one of you guys.

    Thanks in advance!
