Normally I don't respond to flame-bait, but I'll take exception in this case.

Sledge spake thusly: > I am now fucking K-Lined for playing a joke.. i have no idea WTF all > of your problems are on #ytsejam but i just wanted to say "Why" why is > everyone thinking im an ass.. you gotta remember this is irc not face to > face.. we don't exactly know what the person is really thinking when they > chat.. i just wanna know why the fuck im k-lined.. please get back to me > soon.

Nice joke, Sledge. We all thought it was REALLY FUNNY (in fact, hilarious) when you mass-deopped everyone on the channel, Skadz included. What are we supposed to think when someone comes in and abuses their OPS power in the channel?

The reason we think you're an ass is, quite frankly, you were acting like an ass. As my IRC logs read, after you de-opped everyone you said "Now nobody gets OPS until you all obey me." Now if that ain't acting like an ass, I don't know what is.

Regarding your "face to face" vs. "IRC" and "thinking what they chat" point, uhhh, that was just stupid.

I'm not SKADZ and I'm not in power over the IRC server... but my best guess to why you were K-lined (if in fact you were K-lined, not simply banned from the channel) is because you deserved it. The IRC server is something that Skadz set up as a privilege, for people on the JAM to come and converse intelligently. His decision is final, and if he decides to K-line you, I'm all for it.

Your comments (and actions) were just plain inappropriate. I don't object to you returning to the IRC server as long as you can show some semblance of respect for everyone else there, and apologize to everyone on the JAM for your actions.

Skadz, back me up here. ;)

    Until then,

FYI, this regards my previously posted comments on the United Kingdom regarding the film "A Clockwork Orange." Proceed to the next post if you don't care.

First off, I tried to send a personal apology/clarification to Graham, but my server would not cooperate. So here goes....My intent was never to slander the UK. Unfortunately, I sent the post before I read it carefully. Consider this unpatriotic if you must, but I prefer the way that the UK operates in most ways as compared to that of America (replies should be sent to me. I will attempt to retort if you take the time to inquire (take the time? DTC after all!)). I offer my sincerest apologies to Graham B., whoever you are.

Secondly, can anyone give me info on JM's bass? String gauge, pickups, fingerboard wood, anything? Mine just won't sound as FAT while still reproducing the piffy nuances like his will. Maybe my bass just sucks:Þ

Lastly, if anyone would like a copy of my band's tape, then let me know. Our official influences are (were?) Rush, DT, Queensryche, Satriani, Zappa. The band doesn't exist anymore, but I am still as proud of this tape as I could possibly be about anything I could ever do. It's better than listening to the radio. BTW, the Clockwork tape was really good. I look forward to a CD with the new singer. I'd pay money for it :)

I've found that record stores really suck and the only way to get cds from no name labels is via mail order...

New cds that I've gotten in the last week:

Rush-Critical Mass:Another excellent production by Mike Bahr. I've only listened to the first cd (#37 BTW) and it is excellent quality. CM is about 500x as good as the Counterparts boot Northern Heroes...

Jethro Tull Tribute album-Another Magna Carta release. This is basically a smorgabord of musicians consisting of: Derek Sherinian (of DT) who plays keys on one song and shares duties with Robert Berry on another, John Wetton, Robby Steinhardt (Kansas) sings and does violins on one song, Ray Mazerank (sp, from the Doors), Glenn Hughes, Mike Varney (anyone know who this guy is, I've seen the name and can't recall where)+others. Groups that perform on this cd: Magellan does one instrumental song and an interesting version of Aqualung, Echolyn, and Tempest. I though it interesting that Shadow Gallery wasn't on this...

Deep Purple-Purpendicular This cd is great. Steve Morse adds a lot to the band.

Threshold-Wounded Land Another great cd. This has the first singer for Threshold and he is not bad at all. I cannot decide who is better, the old singer or the current singer. Definitely not like night and day as with DT (Labrie and Dominici) or Fates (Alder and Arch).

Kansas-song for America Not really new but new for me. If you like Kansas, you'll like this one. Especially since it was only 6.99 at Best Buy, unfortunately the only 6.99 cd in the Kansas section...

    Hey all,

Since it seems that people are having trouble getting a straight answer from various record stores, reguarding this project. Therefore, it is in my best interest to mail order it as well (as well as many other people). Could one of the 'jammers let me know where I can send for it? Or perhaps someone on the list is selling the CD's themselves.......Thanks
