    Hi everyone,

Haven't been here in awhile, but yes, I'm still alive. :) I thought it was
about time I posted an update on the dubbing project.

What follows is the most current listing I have of Kevin Moore demo dub
sites. If you see your name on this list and:

a)you asked to be removed in the past & your e-mail address is still listed
    for some reason
b)you want to quit being a dub site now & would like to have your e-mail
    address removed from the list
c)your e-mail address is _supposed_ to be listed but isn't for some reason
    d)your e-mail address has changed
e)you recognize a defunct e-mail address belonging to someone who won't see
this message (they are not subscribed to the mailing list or are no longer
    on-line)
f)you are currently a USA-only dub site but are also available to dub copies
    for other countries
g)you are a new Ytse Jam subscriber and are unsure of just exactly what the
    hell I'm talking about :)

send me a *private e-mail* at airdance@aol.com in regards to the matter.
(Don't send mail to the mailing list about it because I might not see it &
you may possibly annoy thousands of subscribers unnecessarily! :)

    Here's the list:

I forward this list to anyone who asks about the demo dubbing project so I
like to keep it as up-to-date as I possibly can, for the convenience of the
dubbers and also the people requesting copies of the demos. Thanks for your
    cooperation!

I would also appreciate some input from people who have participated in this
project over the past year, both the dubbers and the people they have dubbed
for. Did the dubbers like their "job?" :) How many tapes did you dub? Did
anyone have trouble getting their tapes from their dubbers? Tell me your
thoughts. Reviews of the demos are always welcome as well, whether positive
    or negative. :)

If you have any comments or questions, just e-mail me. It may take me awhile
to answer because I'm getting ready to move, but I will get back to you as
    soon as possible.

Take care everyone, and thanks again to all the dubbers for their help.
You've done an outstanding job & I couldn't have made this happen without
    you! :)

    One more thing...

I'll be road tripping to Arizona next week to hang with a friend of mine,
Vicky Pratt Keating, who's playing some gigs in the area, so if you live
nearby and want to meet up, send me an e-mail! I know there are lots of
jammers on this list who like her music (and you know who you are ;), so come
    on out!

I'll be hanging w/Vicky at the following gigs:

    Mar. 13 - Sedona Sanctuary/Sedona, AZ (7pm)
    Mar. 15 - Songsmith/Scottsdale, AZ (8pm)
    Mar. 16 - Phoenix Folk Festival/Phoenix, AZ (11am)
    Mar. 16 - Borders Books/Mesa, AZ (2-4pm)
    Mar. 17 - House Concert/Upland, CA (8pm)
(the Upland concert is at my house, so all YJammers in the LA area are
welcome to attend, of course. E-mail me if you need directions.)
    Mar. 21 - Genghis Cohen/Los Angeles, CA (8pm)

I may also be attending these, depending on my schedule:
    Mar. 16 - Borders Books/Tucson, AZ (7-9pm)
    Mar. 22 - Frog & Furcan/Tucson, AZ (9pm)
(but I know Mike Kizer will be there, right Mike???? ;)

I'd love to meet you folks, so come on out and say hi. :) (If you want more
info about Vicky or her music, let me know.)

Hoping to make the acquaintance of some of you next week,

    Jennifer

It's time for yet another public thanks to a 'jammer for introducing a
fellow 'jammer to a really cool band. This time it's Trey "T-Stretch"
Allen, for suggesting that I check out Testament. These guys chug like a
freight train running between Purgatory and Hell. I picked up "Low" (their
1994 release) yesterday, the album Trey was playing in the car on the way
to the DT shows this past Christmas, and have played it nonstop since.

All you weightlifters out there who listen to music while lifting, this is
the stuff that augments a serious workout. All you fighters out there,
this is excellent music for sparring. Or the real thing, depending on how
much adrenaline you have. Heck, by the third song I was ready for Jackie
Chan to bust through my door so I could rumble with him...

    Trey, you were right, UROTSUKIDOJI!!

DT "BOOTS?" HAAAHAHAHAH, good one! :) You know, that band picture is probably what scares away most potential DT-fans.

"Dream Theater, huh? Let's look at these guys." "Hey, check out this guy with the boots!" "Dang those things are HUGE!" "Yeah, is he like, taking a crap or what?!" "I don't know, looks like he's on the can or something." "And check out THIS guy! He's got a GIGANTIC head!" "Whoah!! He looks like he could eat the entire band!" "What about the guy on the left? He's got no legs!" "Wait a minute, that guy's got no hands either!" "How the hell does he play an instrument with no hands?!" "I don't know... These guys are weird, dude..."

How could you possibly suggest that alternative is 'happening" ? I doubt seriously anyone on this list really cares about what's happening. For me, being happening is a minus. If we cared about happening, we'd be on a list with a name like "Dead Anteaters" for pathetic conformist "bands" . Feyd

Why is everybody giving Yngwie such a tongue-lashing? His riffs may sound recycled sometimes, but that's just his style. When a signature sound is developed by a musician, it's only natural to stay with what works. I personally wish there were more guitar players who could exhibit the same speed and skill that he's developed. And his new CD, Magnum Opus, totally kicks ass. Don't knock it 'till you've tried it.

Oh come on Bafu, you grant me the titles of Dr. X and Death with no opposition whatsoever, but when I go trying to claim that in some twisted sort of way I could be 'THE' Dust Pan Ghost, you don't buy it? Maybe the mysterious Dust Pan Ghost is simply a metaphor for all the fans that are with DT in spirit, rearing their ugly little heads in the strangest places and at the strangest times.

Dr. X -- recently stripped of all aspirations to ever realize his dreams of being 'THE' mysterious Dust Pan Ghost... *pout*

    But first...

Happy Birthday To Mike, Happy Birthday To Mike, Happy Birthday To Michelangelo Buonarrotiiiiii, Happy Birthday To Mike!!!

Stone resists time. In a world where horizontal walls are needed to protect the naked artist from the storming elements above, You Are Immortal.

It isn't your fault, unless they're > your children. (Hi, Mom! or, is that Dad?)

Oooooh, a condescending remark to the ENTIRE list. Very brave. :)

    > Elf needs food, BADLY!

"Valkyrie, your life force is running out." You know Chris, after reaching Level 107 of that game, and playing a particularly bright level with gold tiles FIVE different times, it occured to me that the game has no end, it just keeps randomly generating levels. What a ripoff...

---- > From: Pat Daugherty <pdaugher@bdmserver.mcl.bdm.com> > Subject: Bad Traders > > To those who don't like that I post this to the jam every once in > awhile, I DONT CARE.

Wait, are you actually giving people the ok the make fun of you? Not that I myself would ever do that, just wondering.

---- > From: "Greg \"Big Brother\" Lee" <greg@aix.can.ibm.com> > Subject: Band suggested by 'Jammers > > Hey all, it's Greg here, not BABS, not Bafu, not YtseBen, not a Chew > brother. So, what I have to say is useless! Nah, can't be that bad...

Hey, there's more to life than Chews and Bafus, you know.

    Another "Aliens" fan. Cool. ;)

    > As a savior clause...just because they don't doesn't mean they can, > either. In the imortal words of Type-O Negative "Don't mistake lack of > talent for genius"

That's a damn good quote, I wish they would have included a bumper sticker with that quote on it along with the cd. Speaking of which, I also picked up "Bloody Kisses" along with Testament's "Low," and I have to admit that the lead singer's voice scared me a little. Is this guy seven feet tall or something? He sounds like he could give Billy Sheehan and Lurch a run for their money!

---- > From: DreamNDay@aol.com > Subject: Birch Hill/Election winner > > First, I got my copy of the Birch Hill show today. Overall, IT RULED! I > thought it was all great. > > Lowlights:NONE!

Well, you probably couldn't see the joker making shadow-figures on Petrucci through the spotlight. He was stroking Petrucci's goatee and making shadow-scissors that were cutting through his hair and whatnot. Geez, the nerve of some people...

    > Second, the winner of the Ytse-Elections, BAFU VAI! Do you have an > acceptance speech, Bafu?

"The majority is to govern. Ask not what your Ytsejam can do for you, ask what you can do for your Ytsejam. Read my lips: No New Top-Five Lists."

    > Only runner up was Mike Bahr, so maybe we should find him a position. > Any suggestions?

Hmmm... Definitely something relating to either the economy or international trade, what with his extensive cd-project market saturation, overseas-distributions, etc.

    I am not a crook.

Sorry to waste bandwidth with replies to Mr. Keu, but it's too fun!

    > I am not causing trouble Tough guy, so calm your little >pitts there.. I am only asking ligit questions. AND instead of going >though that other pointblank subsciber i signed on myself to ask them. >I am sorry that you are such a HAPLESS MOON CALF to understand my >point. So, ill let you get back to your Anil Liberal life.... >

Whoa....somebody needs a new spell checker. "Anil"? Sounds like headache medicine. And trust me.....I know aaaaaaaallllll about anuses. :-)

    >No, I notice it... BUT HOW MUCH CAN YOU TALK ABOUT A BAND who isnt >really That popular anymore. THE Happening thing is ALTERNITVE... MAYBE >DT should go altern. And sell some CD's!!!!

D'ya wanna see how much we can talk about them? Well...get comfortable. It'll be awhile. And second of all...you say they're popular anyMORE? Refresh my memory...when was DT popular?

    >I never said i didnt like DT I really LOVE them.. If i didnt >why would i be on this mailing list??? >

Beats me. But, if you don't want to have every Jam filled with flames to you, I recommend stopping the intentional pissing-off of the list.

    >you forgot someone........ >

    You don't count. :-?!?!

BTW....I think neo-classical is freakin' awesome. I haven't heard much, though...is there such thing as a neo-classical band?

Wow! Didja see Jam 1327? And you thought _I_ posted alot... :-)

    >Hey Baldy, Thanks for the wonderful copy of LatM.... >hehehe

Dammit Jim, I'm a Ytsejammer not a recording professional! :-)

    >That's Chris holding his hands to his ears and sticking out his tongue at you :) > LOL! :-)

    >..on the jam that likes country music? It sure feels that way...

Lyle Lovett, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Bonnie Raitt are oooooooooooookey with me! :-)

    >Not only that, but I actually like ABBA, Ace of >Base and the Village People!

I have the Ace of Base tape somewhere....The Sign was once my favorite song. (That was before I got into Metallica...). Once you like something, it's kind of hard to start disliking it.

    >That's a fun game to play. Think of a band, and try to get to Bill >Bruford in six steps or less. > Sheesh. That's more fun with actors & movies, though.

    >I think something needs to be done about the whole YtseCon >situation. Obviously we all want it but no one has figured out what >would be best.

One thing to say: Las Vegas is the ONLY (ONLY) place I'd be able to go. I don't have a choice...I recently found out that a trip to New York this summer is out of the question...the aunt is coming here. So, I'll start crying like a baby if you don't make it in Las Vegas.

WAITAGO Sean Gill! Nice post, man.

Sheesh! By the time I finished reading the LAST three jams I check the mail and another one came.

IMO, if a movie is going to have songs in the soundtrack, they should actually play them DURING the movie. I was soooooooo dissapointed when I saw Demon Knight. All those great metal songs in the soundtrack...not ONE of them in the movie! I mean, nothing goes as well together as heavy metal and gory horror stuff. Try playing DOOM to Enter Sandman! Wooooohoo! BTW, I know that's not reeeeeaaal heavy, but still.

    >If I could get a venue for the tribute, it is possible that >some jammers can jam with the members of Dream Theater on stage!

STOP IT DAMMIT!!!!!!!!! I have never been so jealous of ANYTHING in my whole life. This sucks. :-(
