Now that we've been given a pretty good explanation as to what Lie means, can
someone tell me what Erotomania means? (I'm not actually serious, although
    the name is rather odd.)

Oh, by the way, for that guy who wanted the riffs of the different songs and
the times they occur during Erotomania, here's what I picked up:

1:23 - 1:42 Voices (I think the keyboard part after the 1:42 solo might
    be Voices too)
    1:42 - 1:58 6:00 (?) (Maybe I just WANT to hear it there; I can put the
verse that starts with "So many ways to drown a man" in
    there.)
Don't be hesitant to correct me on that one.
    3:05 - 3:43 The Silent Man
    3:43 - 4:24 Caught In A Web

I have heard other parts in there (I'm pretty sure) of other songs, but I'm
really too tired to think right now. Hope I helped.

Simple, actually. Most any keyboard can layer sounds, that is, play 2 sounds at the same time. Kev just layered a Piano sound and a strings setting.

In the very near future (hopefully this weekend) I'll be scanning a picture taken at YtseCon II. What I need is this: If you're in the picture, and your name does not appear below, please identify yourself. Hopefully, soon, I'll be making an image map of the picture, so you can click on people and read gossip about them. :) And, everybody, both identified and non-identified: e-mail me with your e-mail address and URL of your home page. I'll get that up as well.

People I have identified: Brian Wherry, Bigman, Greg Chew, Jeff Chew, Skadz, Paul Cashman, Brian Cox, Augie, Thrak, Wisha, Mike Bahr, Brandon G., Trey Allen, and His Highness King Bafu, Lord Jammer Most High.

When e-mailing about the pic, please make the subject something like YtseCon II Picture. See ya!

    Hello Jammers,

Just a quick comment, I don't think a whole category of music should be written off because a lot of the artists are crap. Alternative music does have some good artists to offer IMO:

Phish: This is an incredible band, a mix of country, rock, prog, jazz, these guys can jam for hours or play very technically. Their album, "A Live One" is great, I saw them live last fall and it was a very enjoyable concert experience.

Tori Amos: Tori is probably better characterized as alternative than anything else at the moment. most of you love or despise her, I happen love her music, and BTW I never saw a photo of her until after I heard her music on the radio and picked up Little Earthquakes. So the dildo theory is mute in my case. <grin>

Live: "Throwing Copper" is another album that I really enjoy. I hear bits of Rush in this band, but with a very raw edge.

Primus: Definitely alternative, they are wacky, silly, and good musicians, if not terrible precise.

I don't like to write off all artists in a category of music, heck I really don't like to categorize music, but it is necessary for the purpose of writing reviews so that people can get some idea what an album sounds like.

    Later,

    Mike

PS. Its wierd that three of us have mentioned Fourth Estate, great band, anybody in Colorado should check them out live if they get a chance, the CD I have is just great, Morse/Dregs/Kings X influence, all instrumental.
