    Dear jammers,

Hey, what's up? I'm just posting again about sending me e-mail if you
plan to attend the YtseCon III on the east coast. It will be in New
JErsey probably in late June, and hopefully I'll be able to get the Dream
Theater tribute on the same day, if not the next day.

So, if you plan to come, send me e-mail and let me know how many people
    you plan to bring. TTYL!

    Yours,
    Jeff =)

Help!!!!!!!!! My roommate needs any and all information pertaining
to an Stone Temple Pilots mailing list or newsgroup. He sees me reading the
jam all the time and gets jealous because he doesn't have a list for his
favorite band. Don't get me wrong, he loves DT too, but he loves to be
different. If any of you have anything, please E-mail me privately. Thanx.

All right, you: A band belonging to a friend of mine just put out a
CD. It has five songs, all are very cool. If you need something new to
listen to, this is what you're looking for. The band's name is All Hail Me.
To get information or the CD, email them at allhailme1@aol.com. You can
also email me, but try their address first.

    First thing:

THANK YOU, TREY, FOR THE YTSEJAM T-SHIRT. Went to my local pub wearing the
shirt and it garnered much attention. Great job.

    YSTECONS:

Asking someone from SoCal to trek to NJ just because the East is where the
person attempting to construct the CON is from. Sorry. There's a few
people talking about holding gettogethers. If they would talk to each
other, take a survey, find a central location and work together, you could
probably put together one hell of a shindig.

    My Favorite Band:

Who I like is who I like. No need to tell you about it.
Who I don't like is who I don't like. No need to tell you about it.

    The 'jam Itself:

I will be moving into my new house this weekend. That means my computer
will be out of commission for 2 to 4 days. I'm thinking about taking a week
off of work just so I'll be able to read all the 'jams that will be in my
in-box. Good God, I fear the day the new album comes out and the tour starts.

I love listening to the babble of the 'jam. I've learned a few things,
learned to appreciate a few things more after listening to people put them
down. Learn how to make a few new drinks. And have come to realize more
than ever than one man's Chamber of Horrors is another man's Dream Theater.

    THE KID

P.S. To the person who asked if it was possible to grind in 9/8. Sure is,
    just listen to Surrounded.

P.P.S. Can anyone help me cure myself of my tendency to read and write mail
while being hooked-up to my server wasting valuable connection time.

P.P.P.S. (Enough already) The reason the movie "Heavy Metal" was never
released on video was that they couldn't secure artist clearance for all the
    music.

I'm familiar with "Who Wants To Live Forever", but what's the name of the
Queen song that starts the Highlander show? It's starts off with some
trademark Brian May guitar and harmonized bends, and then Freddie sings
in a higher register, "I am immortal...(I can't remember the lyrics)...
I have no rival...". This is a different song, correct?

Well, I'm sure many of you have heard by now that it's been confirmed that
Metallica is in fact headlining Lollapalooza this summer, along with
    Soundgarden.

Man, that could be an ugly scene... the metalheads vs. the alternative
folks. As long as they have the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow, I'm sure it will
    kick ass.

The new album's out June 4 in the US and June 3 everywhere else. Several
web pages out there have sound clips of some new demos from it, "2 by 4"
    and "Devil's Dance."

    Cheers,

    Scott.

Could this be true? Might we see more good music on tv. What a thrill it
would be to see Jazz somewhere other than Late Night BET (and DT of
course). If this is a genuine possibility I think we should do another
mass mailing like "operation:revolution" It might make an impact with the

         I'm growing kind of concerned....

We have a great deal of Jammers begging and pleading for the Cons
to be held in particular city or town....cute! Since when is that up
for debate. Look at how much work went into YtseCon II by
Trey...sometimes the location or particulars are too much to just make
    it a transplantable thing!

         Heres another concern....

Everyone seems to be in the process of organizing seperate jams...
For example we have a Midwest one being ploted in Chicago/St Louis
area....one in New York...and then one out West (someone correct me on
this one, Im not sure)... With all these Cons underway...did anyone
consider that if DT were invited to all of them...they would probably
only go to one...and haveing too many, too frequently would probably
reduce the importance of them to DT's management, making it harder for
DT to even get to any!! Maybe an idea would be to organize a YtseCon,
USA wide, and have an east coast and west coast one happening the same
day, even the same time...(or just synchronizing the Con's in presently
planing stages)....that way DT could split themseles up, and only
sacrifice a day of their time to the Cons instead of several....

         Jeff,

I dont really care where you hold YtseCon III ....but I have
to side with Digital Man on this one....
Most Jammers I know live in Weschester, Long Island or the City..it
maybe easier for us and for DT....

Making it a sponsored event is an Idea I gave alot of thought....
I don't know if Dream Theater is as big as KISS and Star Trek....
a fully advertised and sponsored event would probably be a big money
    loss...
When DT becomes a huge success boasting killer album sales and a
stronger hard core base of fans...
then thats the time for a huge sponsored event...

    Till later....

I took a course in Abnormal psych last year, and we touched on
erotomania. I don't have my notes or anything in front of me, but I'm
pretty sure it was when someone takes everything they hear as a personal
reference to themselves. Like when a radio DJ says "this songs's for you"
they think "that was awful nice of him." I can't remember if a one sided
romantic relationship was part of the picture or not.

There isn't much of a music scene in Denver. There are very few bands here
and even fewer are good. It's good to hear that someone out there cares
enough to start a progressive band. I don't know how to classify my band
yet, but were here and ready to start some sort of following. Us Jammers
out here need to get some sort of scene organized before the clubs all go
top 40. Lets get off our asses and start something.

Someone asked what other DT albums were out there besides IAD,
Awake, and ACoS. Well, their first album was When Dream And Day Unite.
It's out of print in the USA so look in the imports. They still print it in
Germany. It's not too expensive either.

I've been thinking about the Mirror(by DT). I think I've found the story.
Set me straight if I'm wrong, but I think it is similar to Eyes of a
Stranger(Queensryche) only in the fact that it involves taking a good look
at yourself to see who you really are. Beside the fact that you find that
you are just as your friends that you may have judged. One thing I must as
is, who does he refer to in this line:

Racing the clock to please everyone, all but the one that matters the most.

Is the reference to God, or himself? Please shed some light on this if you can.

If you haven't heard...I am getting some other ytsejamers together to
go in on a bunch of Dream Theater Watches. I am working on getting a
sample to show all. I asked who might be interested in getting one and
had about 14 people respond. To make this thing work, we need a min.
order of about 25 watches. If you would be interested in getting a
    DT watch, write me:

Hey speaking of Gary Hoey, he was to put out a CD at Christmas time of
all Christmas songs. Well Christmas came and went and I never saw the
thing, I kept asking around and no one even knew it was coming out. So my
question is did it ever come out? I quit looking after Christmas. I
thought it was a great idea; Christmas songs with a hard rock feel to them.

I have been waiting for a long time for someone else to notice these
things. I thought maybe my CD was defective. In my opinion, ACOS
sounds like a demo tape. The drums seemed to be miked poorly (annoying
ring in the snare), and the distortion when James sings loudly got on
    my nerves as well.
Wasn't ACOS produced by the same guy who did Images and Words? What
    happened?
By the way, I am a DT fan in New Orleans, which is pretty rare, I
think. I've been on the jam for a while but I think this is only my
second post. Anyway, if this thread has already been discussed, I
    apologize.

Damn, damn, damn. I've been too busy to read the jam so I had to get in
what I could when I was cathcing up then I missed a keg! Probably Bud Lite
    anyway ;).
