Any Jammers going to see Satch this friday at the Riverside Performing Arts
Theatre? This guy gets better and better with each tour. He's got his regular
touring band with him (Stu Hamm & Jonathan Mover), and he puts on an amazing
    show (guitar clinic, that is).

I'll be in loge row B (wearing a DT shirt); come join us for a beer and some
    killer guitar!

    Yes,
I too have had a dream with one/some/all of the members of Dream
Theater in it. I think this one ranks among the strangest we have yet heard.
                    Didilidoo
                    Didilidoo
                    Didilidoo
                            <screen image wavers...fades to my dream>

I went to a Dream Theater concert....it was at some restaurant or
something. A lot of people were there and I was right behind one of those
glass block windows or something.....then I was watching the band. After a
song was finished--Okay...this is the strange part--- Mike Portnoy leaned
over and made out with my math teacher. Don't ask, because I don't even
know..or want to, for that matter.

Ever notice that sometimes when you dream about somebody, that
person may look like somebody else, but in your dream you know it's the
first person? Or am I the only one? <----most probable answer

Have you guys seen Metallica lately? They CUT their HAIR! ALL of
'em. They look like a bunch of freaks! No offenses James...hey wait! I
said...whoa, what are you doing with that hammer...hey NO!!
    AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

All RIGHT!!! So EVERYone will be there! Well...almost everyone.

Let me reiterate......just because somebody DOESN'T play anything
    super-hard/complicated doesn't mean they CAN'T.

As for the .SIG WARS OF YTSEJAM ISLE....you guys have WAY too much free
    time. ;-)

I think (therefore I am) that the Surrounded intro sounds better with
piano than with the sound from the album...just seems less, and I hate to
    say it, cheeeeeeeeeeeeesy. :-)

    >me if I'm wrong, but Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge was a live album. So
    you've
    >heard the new album? How is it?

Regardless of whether or not Metallica released another
album, there is no way they would have ended up
sounding like Death, imo. I seriously doubt Metallica
would ever put out anything that was as complex as
Death's "Symbolic." I admit that I count myself
among those who were extremely disappointed with
Metallica's direction following "Justice" and this post
    really doesn't have a point. I guess I just don't consider
Metallica and Death to be comparable - a bit like the
    apples and oranges argument. ANYWAY....

    2.

A while ago I sent off a check for the new Hades CD
to a company which was soliciting it. The name of the
company was Black Pumpkin Records, and they were
the label which was to have released the disc. This
was in November or December. The check was cancelled
and I received - you guessed it - nothing. Does anyone
know anything about this label? A phone number? Anything?

    3.

Is was browsing through the cdnow telnet site and
I saw a listing for Triumph - "In the Beginning" or some-
thing like that. Has anyone heard of this? Is it a re-release,
(which would make sense because they already had the
"Classics" compilation) or is it something new with the
"Edge of Excess" line-up? I thought I had heard a rumor
about Rik Emmett returning since his solo career did
    NOTHING.

    4.

I highly recommend the purchase of the import cd
"Imaginations From the Other Side" by Blind Guardian
if any of you enjoy the power metal genre. The music
is comparable to that of Gamma Ray (I guess) and the
singer somehow reminds me of a more gruff Robin
McAuley (MSG). Very well played, with memorable
arrangements and some progressive elements. It was
worth the 20-odd dollars I paid. If you shade towards
the heavier side of DT, this may be for you.

    5.

    That's it!

all submissions WILL be judged equally, regardless of when they are

it just helps me gauge and plan things better if i don't get all the submissions at

Metallica shaved their heads? That ought to be interesting....

Can i ask someone who gets non-digest mode to forward me the
post breaking down Erotomania into the time segments based on other Awake
songs? I seem to have erased that digest.

p.s. about all that 'other than DT' stuff going around, well, at least
Michael COughlin hasn't returned with his "I've been saved by Jesus" routine

Excuse me? Did I hear someone ask what Korn is like live?

                    They RULE!!!!!!!
On Friday, I got a friend who was friendly with the lighting tech. get me on
the guest list for a sold out show at the Ogden(coolest venue in town). We
went, we saw, we moshed. Jonathan gives a totally psycho show, and all the
other members take the kind of show they're into and combine it. It's so
powerful. Later the lighting tech. got us all backstage where I met Fieldy.
Cool dude. We also hung around and got to meet Head and get autographs. I
don't care wheather you like Korn or not, they are cool guys. At least Head
and Fieldy are. Thanks a lot Zane, if you're there.

I whish I had known about the DT favorite song vote. I would have said Take
the Time. Totally some diverse guitar parts. Definitly my favorite.

    All for now kids,
    Cory
