Hey, here's some more replies... Maybe I can get on the MFP list... Scott Cook did... I'll just do what he
    did. :)

What, the new DT album? Yeah, we know. :) Seriously, though, most everyone guessed a DT/Rush tour... That's
what I would say, except that I remember hearing a ffew Jams back (or maybe it was on IRC) that MP was
thinking of getting a computer and subscribing to the Jam. Maybe he convinced the other DT members to do
the same. Or maybe not... Just Mike on the list is enough is enough for me... Although I'd LOVE to chat
w/JP about music theory and the like... e-lessons! :)

Whoa, that's a lot of CDs if it's a Rush/DT tour... It'd be cool tho. I just got AQ and can't afford
ANOTHER $25 boot right now... Damn.

That would really rock, but is it legal? Doesn't Sega have a copyright or something on that? DT may not
care that Mike Bahr makes boots, but Sega probably would...

Yeah, at the end of Lie, i.e. the part they cut out for the video, they go back to the intro riff from the
Mirror - the three sixteenth notes and one sixteenth note rest... I know that Lie is like part two of The
Mirror, but it IS a different track, and they use the EXACT same riff, so I thought I'd mention it.

I haven't noticed that one... Can you give me the times in those songs where they reuse stuff?

Theres been talk of dubbing the soundtrack to Necronomicron for Saturn and that it would be a pain in the ass..etc ect ...well its not that bad at least for Saturn owners because Saturn games' music is CD track,ie. you can put the game cd on any cd player and hear the tracks like a normal cd ...so we that have the saturn get a kick ass cd,with a sega saturn game in it! :) For people who do not have the Saturn you can buy the game and use it as a cd,but youre gonna be paying 50+ for The Jp Solo album :)

As far as I'm concerned, I'd hate it if DT toured with Rush... First, I don't particularly care for Rush (Geddy's voice just doesn't do it for me). Second, if the above analogy holds true, DT would only be on stage briefly and we wouldn't get a chance to just sit back revelling in their brilliance for 2-3 hours... On another note though, it might be a good career move for them.

Hysteria was the first album I ever owned, only I got it on vinyl free at a football game when a radio DJ was handing out free stuff. Never heard of them before, but I took it home and gave it a few listens... I still think it's a brilliant piece of work for the time, and definitely worth pulling out and listening to on occasion.

Being behind (as usual) on the jams, I hope this hasn't been posted yet.

I was just at Tower Records browsing through the magazines when I saw that Metal Edge had a story/pictorial on the NAMM affair in some city which I can't remember. Anyway, for anyone who's interested, there's a photo of John Petrucci looking real scrubby with a shit-eatin' grin on his face and a picture of Mike Portnoy and his wife, Marlene, hanging out by some photographs of Mike himself. There's also a short blurb mentioning John's newborns and the fact that they are working on a new album.

It was interesting. Go look at it.

I doubt that'll happen, because DT is one of those bands were there really isn't a 'leader'. Everybody has equal input, like in Rush. In Yes, it seems that Jon Anderson was/is the main guy (at least that's what it seems to me, but I could be wrong because I'm not a Yes fan). In DT, the only thing that might happen is what already happened w/ Kev... one member is unhappy w/ the direction in which the music is going so he leaves... but the main band still goes on...

Oh I know that... Bruce actually made a speech about that on the 'Live after Death' video. (or was it Maiden England?..don't remember) They just like talking about the occult. It's just that it was the first heavy metal tape I ever heard and I had heard all about subliminal messages...and then I hear this guy sing "Lucifer's my name" ...and you start getting scared you know... I think I was like 11 or 12...

    Hi everyone,

Well, first off, the most exciting news is that the title for the new Rush album is "Test for Echo" and has 12 tracks on it - one of which will be an instrumental. (I can hear Bafu saying "oh yippee" right about now - being the big Rush fan he is...) In addition, it appears that the release date has again been pushed up, now to August 20th. Although it is not definite, in all likeliness they will tour, but not during the summer as Neil is apparently against this. If your wondering what the song titles are, I dunno because they haven't been posted yet. This info comes from the NMS (Rush mailing list).

As to the thread about DT releasing two CDs - I realize this thread has died down a bit, but I figured I'd add a couple ideas that could work in leu <sp?> of a double CD release: 1) As has been mentioned by several, there is the idea to release the two CDs separately - a la GNR. This is an all right idea, one that could work, whether both CDs were released at once or several months in between.

    2) Release a single CD and put the extra tracks on B-sides of future singles. This is the most likely scenario, but the one thing I don't like is that the songs will be spread out over several CDs as opposed to just being on one CD - which brings me to an idea (actually a couple) I don't recall reading...

3a) Have the Japanese release feature a second CD with the extra tracks, similar to what they did with the Eve mini-CD; this time though, put *all* the extra songs on the bonus CD, not just one - after all, Japanese releases almost always seem to have extra goodies that the domestic version doesn't. (Only problem with this is that it would be more expensive and some may not have any access to the Japanese import). OR 3b) Have EastWest make a limited series pressing of the new one featuring a bonus CD, similar to the limited edition version of Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger which contained a bonus CD with (I think) 5 extra tracks. Then have the standard release (single CD) as well. (Biggest problem with this would be *when* to release it, since releasing it right away *may* scare off some potential buyers from getting a 2 CD set - perhaps make the limited 2 CD set available only during the second pressing). OR 3c) EastWest could release a limited edition CD containing the extra tracks through some form or other - perhaps through the 'Net, since we 'Jammers are probably some of the biggest fans DT has or through some sort of voucher that could be found only within the first pressing of the new CD.

So those are my ideas - take 'em or leave 'em, but I'd like some feedback, whatever it maybe (except for flames of course).

    Well, that's it for now.
