Come on....if you're going to fake something, the least you could do is
wait a couple days before you do pull this sort of garbage. Heck, you
could have at least chosen a site that would show up on an InterNIC query
to give it a little credibility.

Sigh.....I just lost quite a bit of respect for you. Remind me that if
I ever create a Christmas card list to leave you off of it. :)

As far as what would happen if one of the band members actually requested
to be added to the list, I suspect that we'd get see lots of the members
in who have greater access to info on the band posting the fact that one
    was now on the list.

BTW, congrats on the impending nuptuals.

    Mathew

A strange thought occurred to me, "What if James was replaced by the Swedish Chef from the Muppet show?" Well, I pondered over this philosophical dilema for quite sometime... Until I found a service that offers to translate anything into the language of the Swedish Chef (what a coincidence!). So here is a small sampling of what we could expect to hear.... 8^)

Hey guys, I have always had a burning question in my mind but have never been able to articulate it or just haven't felt like asking it. But I think the time has come to ask (especially now that I'm leaving the ytsejam soon). I know Bafu Vai is an extremely cool person (from all the posts I've read) in this internet world of ours, but I've always wondered the following: is he as cool in the real world as he is in ytse-land? I know this question might sound weird to some of you, or maybe some of you have asked yourselves the same thing. But the main reason why I wonder this is because everybody praises him so much without actually having met the guy (although maybe some of you have). By the way, I'm not ripping on you Bafu (I really have no reason to), I'm just really wondering if you are the same person both in the real world and in front of your computer. Well, any insights on this matter will be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry for the NDTC Alexis (surfordie) --> a GUY, by the way.

My first concert was Rush, in '90. After that, I was a die-hard fan. (Cruised back down HWY 99 from Sac. to Stockton between 100- 120mph on the way home (40 mi.?)-- a Chevy Luv with a 327 in it MOVES!) I had DeW playing in my head for weeks after, though I'd never heard the song before. Seen 'em 5 times since. Last tour sucked (for Rush) sound-wise and the setlist could've been better. I hope they bring back the lasers :^)>

HYF was one of my fist tapes, and it was also the first CD I bought.

Howdy gang! I'm new to the list, so I just thought I'd introduce myself - I'm Colter McCorkindale coming at ya from deep within the bowels of Arkansas where DT fans are about as populous as the penguin population.

I do have some legitimate reasons for posting this message:

1.) Is anyone out there an Ibanez Universe owner? I have the white 7P, and I'm desperately in search of the instruction manual written by Steve Vai. If anyone knows where I can get a copy, please e-mail me!! I'd also just like to hear from other UV and Jem owners.

2.) Isn't "Surrounded" the most obvious answer to the wedding-song question?

3.) Does anyone have a copy of that Japanese guitar mag with JP's guitars? I would thrill to see a picture of the "backup" Ibanez Jem!

I'd also like to Take the Time (oh, that was WRONG!) to shamelessly plug my young homepage. It's a modest little thing, cute as a button - it's even got a plain gray background! Awww. I have not the time to focus on it, I just wanted a place to put up my music stuff.

    Thank you for your time,

well, i think i'm the last college student on the jam that hasn't gone home yet. i will be soon. one cool thing about college is the book depository. i sold back all the books from this year which gave me some extra money, enabling me to buy the new Pantera and the new Rage. book depositories rule!!! after about 3 listens the new Pantera sounds pretty damn good. i like that weird guitar thing at the end of "Floods". the new Rage is a bit of a dissappointment for me though. i'm getting sick of those squeeky sounds that morello makes in every damn song as his solo. this sucks, i have to unsubscribe for 3 months. well, at least the new King's X and Soundgarden are coming out. as far as that "first" thread, i think my first cd's were Van Halen's "1984", and Led Zeppelin IV. my first DT cd was I&W. my first concert was Phil Collins when i was like 8 years old, so that would make it 1985. my first and only DT concert so far was the Malibu show this winter. damn it was cold! well, looks like i'm outta here for a while, hopefully when i'm back everybody will be talking about an upcoming DT release (2 cd's?). later on.

Anybody else think it's kind of ironic that...

Extreme left out "Leave me alone" on the _CD_ of ]I[ sides (Due to lack of space) while

Dream Theater left out "Scarred" from the tape of Awake! (Due to lack of space)

I would think that Extreme's arguement is a little better than DT's.

I mean, come on guys! Making an 80 minute tape is NOT HARD!!! Could it be that they were concerned that a tape of that length would be too thin and would more easily break in time? Possibly. 100+ minute tapes are VERY thin and don't carry the duribility of the 60 minute ones... But still. Why would you cut out scarred?

On the flipside, someone said that ]I[ on tape is 81 minutes. Well, according to someone's recent post, it's not impossible to make that either. Could it be that older CD players can't handle the tightly packed music of such a long CD? Would it be more likely to skip, or wouldn't it play at all, or what? I wonder.

Anyway, this is Dr. Teeth. I had my account pulled out from under me because my college doesn't like it when you don't carry any credits. (DOH!) So I'm using a friend's. Anyway here's what happened.

    I used to be glyde@vax1.mankato.msus.edu but now I'm kayc@vax1.mankato.msus.edu

And I don't have my cool sigs anymore. I'll have to update them. (They were 2 years old!)

    So long!

    - Dr. Teeth - seriously lacking in the sig dept.

Dave King asked on Jam #1551: > what does getting and End of Jam mean? what's its point? > why is it so important

It doensn't mean anything. There's no point. It's not important. That's why a lot of people are hoping to get one.

Bafu Vai has had the most EoJ's since I joined in november '95: 26 !!! But then again... you're bound to get some EoJ's with 135 posts... I have 4 EoJ's to my name... Not that I care about that stuff... Counting the first posts on the Jam would be much cooler... Then we would be going up against the almighty "RESPONSE at IBMMAIL" !!! He's (almost) always in the first four posts fo every Jam. Btw, "RESPONSE at IBMMAIL" is also the most frequent 'poster' Is there any chance we might get rid of 'him' some day ? Here's an update:

    # | Name EoJ | Posts ---+------------------------------------------+------ 1 | response@ibmmail.com 1 | 288 2 | dreamnday@aol.com (Brian) 6 | 180 3 | s0067977@hawkmail.monmouth.edu (Damon) 4 | 170 4 | magellan@u.washington.edu (Bafu Vai) 26 | 135 5 | laussade@enet.net (Ben Lausade) 13 | 127

Brian is still the #2, although he's been gone for a while and doesn't post as much as he used to. Damon left last week for four months, right ? So I guess Bafu & Ben are the next in line for the #2 spot... Still, 26 EoJ's is quite an accomplishment, seeing as Ben only has half the amount of EoJ's that Bafu got, with almost the same amount of messages...

Btw, David, what exactly do you do at the "Powder Technology Laboratory" I hope you're not making Crack... ;) (sorry about that cheap crack!)

    Hasta Luego... Pasta & Legos,
