I totally agree. Does anyone have the old Rabbit or any other Trevor
    albums beside "Can't Look Away."

    > - Asia, Aqua. Very good, although not the Asia I'm used to. Besides, they

You can barely hear Steve Howe on that album and some of it is weak, has
anyone heard of the lead singer, John Payne? I know I have heard him
before, but I can't remember what.

Does anyone know if Candlebox is playing in the New England area this
summer? I would love to see them...I guess I was one of the few who
enjoyed them on the Counterparts tour.

Again, I am in full agreement. Actually I thought the production was
fabulous. I copied them both from a friend, and they sound awesome!

According to Brett: "Inspired by 'The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis.
The story is about a demon named Screwtape and his correspondence to his
nephew (a lesser demon) Wormwood. Wormwood's duty is to sway his human
patient's soul away from heavenly salvation. If he fails he must pay the
price to his uncle and the infernal police."

Also, did anybody catch the Screwtape book in U2's video on the Batman

you dont even really need to use the term alternative for candlebox, as
far as i can see theyre a rock band. theyre one of the only ones to
come out past 92/93 but theyre rock all the way, theyve just got that
sound... i think they get tagged alternative because theyre from
seattle... but they dont have that cottony crap alternative guitar
sound, the bass player is kickin', and Klett can whip out some great
solos. in fact, i think i'm gonna throw lucy on again right now =)
people say its a let down, but i really got into this one. i still like
that first one more, but its as the saying goes..

Well, since they have been brought up alot as of late, I just checked the
dates on their first tape (well, as far as I know) We Care Alot. It is
copyrighted 1985 and the p with the circle around it (what is that anyways?)
1987. So, I think they beat the whole grunge scene by just a bit :)

I was doing some surfing and came across a page that has pictures of some of the jammers who IRC. It is at http://www.duke.edu/~mjk5/dajam.html

Talk about totally different pictures of what you actually think a person looks like.

Ben Laussade looks like your typical skinhead. Looks like he has lots of energy so I guess it is good that he is a drummer.

Alternacrap, er I mean D-Man (just joking)-nice goatee...

Skadz has long hair and doesn't have the looks of your typical computer nerd.

Paul Cashman just looks totally different from what I pictured...

That USUALLY comes from non-musicians... Not liking someone's guitar tone or voice or SNARE SOUND :) or whatever... For example, I played Satch's Surfing w/the Alien for a non-musician friend, and he couldn't stand the guitar tone... That's an extreme example, tho... Usually it happens w/vocals. JL and Geddy Lee are perfect examples. I won't elaborate because I'm sure most of you have experienced this first-hand (if you haven't played DT for a friend, please do so. Failure to comply means you suck. That or you have no friends because you spend all your time trying to catch up on your Jams... Such a silly whim... :).

I wouldn't stick FNM in there at all. 'Epic' was a big hit b4 Nirvana was even a pimple in MTV's ass (I've always liked that phrase, so I just had to use it)... Besides that I totally agree w/ you,..I've posted about it too. Also take in mind there was a glam movement in the early 70's, followed by punk in the later 70's... and remember what bands became rather popular during thes glam movements? That's right, progressive bands. I wasn't alive in the early 70's but I'm aware that many prog bands reached a certain amount of success during that time... and the 80's brought us both Rush's and Yes's big hits...(Tom Sawyer and Owner of a Lonely Heart). Catch my drift? I doubt DT will ever be the top selling artists, but I'm sure in one of their next couple of CD's they'll eventually have ONE single that'll hit really big, thus giving them the popularity they deserve.

If you're going to use someone else's lyrics, at least have the decency to cite them. All of the DMB fans know that the passage is from "So Much To Say", from the album "Crash". I'm not asking for MLA notation, but at least give credit where it's due. I'm sure the majority of 'Jammers aren't DMB fans, so they wouldn't recognize the song reference. Some may even think that you actually came up with it, when in fact you didn't. Plagiarism isn't a good thing.

    Hey all. Syrinx here.

To all of you, BLAH!@ I'm a huge Faith No More fan (actually, they're No. 3 on my all time favorite bands...guess what No. 1 and No. 2 are???), and they're increadible. I find Angel Dust (you know, the one AFTER epic? most of you don't) to be one of the greatest albums of the 1990's. I know that's a difficult statement to make, but i'll make it with pride. I rank it up there with Pearl Jam's "ten" anyday. Patton is a god.

So, i got the new King's X and Soundgarden stuff today. Phear me. Very good stuff. "Ear Candy" sounds like a return to the earlier King's X work. If you're expecting Dogman, Part 2....you'll be disappointed, but if you're looking for the King's X we all know and love...you'll like it. I'm listening to the new Soundgarden as i write this. I like. Alot. it's a departure from "Superunknown", and Chris's writing has improved greatly. Definate pickup for you guys.

Ok. Time to go. Maybe Ryan will give me a EoJ? :)

Candlebox, yeah, they kick cow. I recently relistened to their self-titled album, and it still rocks... The guitar solo in 'Rain' just kicks so much ass... How does he do that thing at the beginning of the solo? It's like a weakening kind of thing.. Don't know how to describe it... Sounds kind of like a person talking while they're crying, you know? Anyway, haven't heard anything from them but the first album.

Yes! Well said. If you create sounds that people enjoy (people could = you) you are a musician. Just leave it at that, don't try and define it. Shut up and play yer music. :)
