It's a pretty cool CD, especially for a new listener. Personally, I like the
full CD's because a lot of their stuff sounds "thematic". I love listening to
them all the way through - while they're in a particular vibe...

I just picked up the "Awake" and "Images and Words" songbooks. Yep, I'm
ready to take over for John...NOT!!! This is some serious fretwork.

Is anything else by DT available? I'm dying to see what "A Change of Seasons"
looks like and "Ytsejam" of course...

"Slang" by Def Leppard is actually a very good album. I really like the
first half of the disc, then it turns into too many ballads. After Guitar
World (I think) raved about the album, my curiosity was peaked, so I went
out and grabbed it. It seems to be influenced by a mild form of
industrial music....great guitar effects. Check it out if you get the
    chance.

    __________

(I'll pull a Mike Bahr here)

Two bums walking along some railroad tracks happened upon a
half-rotted dog. Not having eaten in days, they debate this
serendipitous event. One bum decides that he's so hungry that
he doesn't care how decrepit the corpse looks, he's going to
eat. The other bum, protesting, says he will take no part of
    this maggot-infested repast.

The other bum is happy, since it means more for him.

A little later, the first bum, his appetite sated, chides the other
for passing up their good fortune. The second replies that he is
sure they will find some better food soon.

Walking a little further, the first bum, his lunch disagreeing
with his stomach, starts retching, and hurls his food: dogmeat,
maggots and all, onto the gravel beside the tracks. Instantly,
other bum leaps down and starts shoveling the barf into his mouth.

"Ah," he says between mouthfuls, "that's what I was waiting for,
    a hot lunch."

Approved the proofs for Critical Mass printing today... manufacturing is complete, now the printing must begin. Scenes is currently printing.

Chasing Time by Fates is definitely the best CD to get a Fates rookie! They get to hear a lot of intense tunes from every stage of FW development, and you get the bonus Circles and the acoustic We never Say Goodbye. Well worth the purchase.

I'll be picking up the KX album in a little while.

Oops, my bad. No, they haven't. It's funny. I don't even think of SDV as a track on Awake. I think of it as like, if there were a bonus CD that came with Awake, except it's all on the same CD. Don't get me wrong - I love the song, I just don't ever think of it as a DT song. Something tells me it wouldn't have been on the album if it wasn't already established that Kevin was leaving.

I'm pretty sure that the band regards it as a Kevin song also, as opposed to a DT song.

To be truthful, I liked TBA when it first came out. Played it constantly, was really into it, the whole 9 yards.

Over time though, something happened that didn't happen with any of the other Metallica albums (even Kill 'Em All) - I got tired of it. Whether that was because of the over-exposure of the songs on the radio and MTV, or just because of the fact that it consisted of much simpler songs, I don't know.

With DT, I think about how many times I've listened to Metropolis, and I still love it. I shudder to think that someday the song might bore me. :)

Well, I got a whole lot of stuff to write about so I'll just start. 1) I got King's X's "Ear Candy". The only King's X CD I had before this was "Dogman". I thought was pretty darn good! I don't know what these other jammers are talking about if you liked "Dogman" you won't like. I don't maybe they are right about the early CDs. 2) I got two(count'em 2!) Mike Bahr CDs today. They were "WDATU" and "Antiquites". I must say that these CDs(from what I have listened to) are GREAT! 3) Also what is this I hear about a(n) YTSEcon in my home state of New Jersey. What is a YTSEcon? Also, when and where will it be held? 4) I just recruited three of mes amies to DT! We're testing driving my friend's "DMV rejected Mustang" around town. And my copy of "Awake" was in my jacket. And one of them noticed me pull it out. And noticed the cover(you got to admit it's a weird cover), and wanted me to play. Well, I played it. Oh boy, I never knew _6:00_ and _Caught_In_A_Web_ were such good car songs! 5) I've noticed no one in here is into INDUSTRIAL music. So, I try to you all into it. If you want to check out one really good INDUSTRIAL band go for KMFDM! I recommend "NIHIL". Anyone to stuff that's not the usually on the 'jam should really post. Because that's what makes this a "Progressive" mailing list :). See below to get the joke! > P.S. Curious question: What exactly makes a band (or song) >progressive? 6) I can tell I'm going to be reading about this for the next 5 or 6 'jams!

John McCabe P.S. Maybe I'll get two EoJ again!

Umm, excuse me, but I wouldn't call that a "question," I would call that a waste of bandwidth, considering that there is an abundance of CORRECT info on the 'jam on most of the DT webpages.

Did I mention that I was joking? I thought that it was funny as hell that someone who didn't know what they were doing got an EOJ! And hey, if more jerks like you keep subscribing to the jam, I just might unsub! So, shove it up your Swiss asshole!

Can't help you out but can sympathise. My last band had similar troubles. A guitarist I had been working with for about a year, I play bass, and I had asked a couple of friends, a drummer and singer, to play a few jigs. The drummer was great but the singer *hmm* well he tried. Our problem was that if we told the singer to leave the drummer went with him. Also we were all pretty good friends. We ended up telling the singer his services were no longer required and lost the drummer too as well as loosing 2 friends. A hard choice you have to make when mixing business with pleasure.

    Hey all you Ytsejamers!

It's been a while. I've been real busy at work and haven't had much time to play. BUT.....YES! It is True!

Another sticker will be out soon. If you thought the last window sticker was ok, this one is 10 times better! More color. This is NOT a window sticker, but this is a vinyl sticker that can go just about anywhere!

I will keep you updated in the next few days. I will also post a picture of it on: http://www.dreamt.org

    soon.
