can't find this, got the address for warner bros in Miami (anyone got an
800#?). It sure helps the (*(*&*###^#@^$^($^_ customer service reps when
they have the ISBN. I used to work at Barnes & Noble and learned that ISBNs
are always filed (get ready for this) in NUMERICAL ORDER! However, book
titles are almost always screwed up. Keyword searching may or may not
reveal the desired information.
Also, who is the "official" author? JP was listed as "editor" of the Awake
book.
PLEASE EMAIL ME... anyone searching can also email me... I'll have the info
on file forever, so if you're reading this a year later then try to find
me... I'll still have it, assuming someone sends it to me.
Thanks in advance.

Anyone got lyrics from the new album yet? I know a few of you have
copies of a couple of the new songs on demos. Slap some of those
babies up here so we can revel in their philosphical intrigue!
That would be kewl. :)

Hi all,
Just dropping a note. Gary Hoey and a couple of other folks are gonna
be in concert in Des Moines on the 19th of December at The Edge. The
reason I bring this up is because the concert costs $1.03 plus two cans
of food. There is a radio station in Des Moines that is 103.3 and
they're putting this whole thing on. If there's anybody that wants to
see Hoey cheap, this is it.

well since i spent a good portion of the day on the road with my cds and
portable cd player, i've discovered a new cd which i'm totally engrossed
with now. I Mother Earth's Scenery and Fish. at first listen a few weeks
back i wasnt overjoyed, i thought it was good, but nothing more... by now i
most definately can say they're one of my favorite bands, and this is one of
their best releases (even though they've only had two, Dig being the other,
i used to find superior but now find about equal) if i had to describe
them i'd say a mix between candlebox, seed, tesla, and on a few tracks red
hot chili peppers. amazing melodies, and the disc has a cool enhanced cd
feature where you can view the band Bio, clips from their first cd, watch
videos, and check out cool pictures, plus more... its well worth your money,
and its well worth your ear.. even if it takes a while to sink in sometimes,
if you've got an open mind about exploring new music and get into any of the
bands i mentioned as influences you're really gonna like this.

Hi Jammers,
Can anyone going to these shows email me privately (joecr@ici.net)
and let me know what was the last song the DJ played before DT
took the Stage and how long the show was? So my friend can prepare
accordingly to tape the CT & RI shows?
Thanx

Hey I saw Gary's Christmas show last year in PHX, AZ. It was a ton of fun.
Admission was a Toy of some sort, all was given to the PHX Childrens hosptial.
If you have a chance I would definately go see it.

The 2 UK versions of Bridge had "Damaged", "Lady Wore Black" & "The
Killing Words" on one CD, & "Silent Lucidity", "My Empty Room" &
"Real World" (ALL live from the London Astoria show at the start of
the Promised Land tour) on the other.
The other track listing you have given exists on the UK release of "I
Am I".

Hey There Yammer's,
There is also a different version
of 'Bridge' from the UK . When I was in England last year I picked up 'Bridge' as
a two part CD set for the ridiculous price of 1.99ea ( About $8 for
both CD's !), and it has the following tracks on it:
CD 1 CD2
1. Bridge 1. Bridge
2. Damaged * 2. Silent Lucidity *
3. The Killing Words * 3. My Empty Room *
4. The Lady Wore Black * 4. Real World *
* Tracks recorded live at the Astoria London October 20th 1994.
They are both great CD's, if you can find them anywhere ??!!
Cheers Graham
Currently listening to:
MARILLION- Various Boots.
VANDEN PLAS- 'Colour Temple', great power/prog metal, fans of SUPERIOR
will love this album.

Hello Jammers,
I was just wandering if there are any cool metal mags in the UK, which are
about metal as opposed to hardcore,death/black metal, alternative, punk
etc. If any jammer has a suggestion I'd really appreciate it! thanks!

Anybody ever notice how James LaBrie cannot pronounce properly "H" ?
for example in live versions of "fortune in lies" you always hear him sing
"a _k_ero in frozen water" instead of _h_ero...
and as for the "kyrie eleison" (sp?)
>By the way its latin for "may the Lord guide me".
latin? I thought that was Greek... well, I dunno, maybe it has latin
origins... :)

I can't speak for all the venues, but the Strand holds almost 2,000 people
and DT usually gets a pretty good turnout. Say 1200-1500, maybe more this
time because of "travellers". :)

"Against The Grain" (from this album), among others linked from my web page

On the subject of guitarists: You really can't judge anybody and
how they play their particular instrument. You either like what they do, or
you don't. That easy. You shouldn't judge anybody for playing a different
style of music. Kurt Cobain (in my opinion) sucked in comparison to
Petrucci but I still respect Cobain for his work.

Wow, quite the interesting news bit was in this mornings "Oregonian"
newspaper. Apparently, MTV has decided to change its format drastically.
They are "going against the grain", looking for the "next big thing". So,
as it says, they are majorly cutting their hip-hop, rap, and alternative
rock playlists. They are going to be more diverse and showcase "all" types
of music, not just what is popular. The thing that caught my eye is the new
show "Enter the Mosh Pit" starting next month for "hard-edged music". Whoa!
This is the same description MuchMusic gave to its excellent show Loud.
Does this mean we might see Pantera, Fear Factory, Sepultura and maybe even
DT on MTV soon? Here's hoping!

Hi all,
please forsee me uncunningness, but I for one have a problem here. First I
guess I have to say that I'm a Swede, because when I speak about music with
my friends here, they define groups like DT, Rush, Saga, Marillion as
Symphonic, NOT Progressive. Is it the same with any of you?
Progressive, here, stands for very political stuff (read:
socialistic/communistic), and that type of music has a lot to do with the
68-movement. The same sort of stuff that made Woodstock and
Students-revolutions and all that. So here you can not use the word
progressive music, while talking about our DT.
Is there a universal definition of symphonic, or what does it mean for you
personally? Is it exactly the same as progressive, or what? Which bands
would you put in each category?

hi there
I agree, JP rhythms are more dificult to play for me. The solos are great
but if you study speed, scales, arpegios, etc, you can play it,it is not
easy but you can achieve the goal. Sometime you focus your plaing in the
dificult stuff and forget the bases "the rhythm". that is why i like JP, he
