    Hi all

I know my subject sounds like an oxymoron (rapidly becoming the most popular
word on the Jam), but I have a real question that popped (as against pooped)
into my alcohol-crazed mind last night. So here goes:

I know some of you people out there are married (or are planning to do so,
or are living in sin with concubines etc. etc.), and I was wondering whether
any of you have problems with your spouses/lovers/live-in dildo replacements
because of the music you like to listen to. I'm still married (waiting for
divorce procedings to start, which can take a loooong time in Germany), and my
musical taste, or lack thereof, lead to some big trouble along the lines of
"can't you see I'm trying to watch TV, do you have to listen to that stuff so
loud, you'll wake the dogs with that noise, how can you listen to that row,
you didn't listen to this when we first met, why did I ever marry you".

Not that I'm wishing you any of this shit, but be warned: it can happen to you.
But honestly, I would really be interested to know whether you have to take
other people into account when you play music - I guess all you college kids
don't, because I certainly didn't when I was at university. Those were the
days - Sex Pistols, The Clash, UB40, The Cure, Madness, The Specials, The
Police, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, and a stereo that only had two volume
    settings: OFF and ear-bleedingly load.

Oh well, just remains to say that I'm really looking forward to going to a good
concert tomorrow - Rotting Christ, Theatre Of Tragedy, Moonspell, Samael and
Gorefest. I'll let you know how it went.

    stay safe and happy listening

I just got my copy of Majesty's SFAM. I have two questions,

    1. I thought "Eve" had lyrics?

    2. Why is the instrumental version of PMU called "Oliver Twist"? Is this
    a "pre-PMU" instrumental recording?

These may have already been answered on the JAM, but my opportunities to
peruse this fine piece of electronic literature has sometimes been
    sporadic.

So, I've now listened to all of Lemur Voice, and like, Brian
said, WOW!!!!!!!! This is a great disk! I'm very impressed by the
musicianship of this group! The vocals need a bit of work IMO, but I
think that it may be a function of the language issue more than any thing
else. My favorite song of the album is the first one, and the next two
    instrumentals absolutely SHRED!!!!!
But, I'm gonna have to say that Shadow Gallery is better by a
hair tho. Their classical influence and use of piano and
synthesizer interludes in between tracks really add to the feel of the album.
And the song and lyrics merge beautifully. When I listen to the first
track of Ghost Ship, I feel like I'm part of the "pre-party" event before
a big Vikings Invasion or something. Don't Cry, Just Remember, also
    matches well with the lyrics.
DT content time... DT of course, beats em all, but could they
PLEASE get a producer so I can listen to some new stuff???

                                                    -jeremy

    Hey,

I think Bach is probably one of the best singers out in music
right now. He can sing better than just about anyone. He can
scream loud, sing loud, even growl a bit...frankly, if Skid
Row wasn't around, that should have been Maiden's new singer
:) What do you expect when you come from the school of Halford
    vocal lessons :)

Long time no post! For those of you who remember Hairball,

yea, 667 is the guy across the street who can't help but look through the

always comes home at three a.m with some rap song booming a new faultline,

Hey!! Maybe frederico was just trying to make us forget about mindcrimer? It

    http://acs.bu.edu:8001/~bwherry/music.html

Just one more thing. I don't think a band ever starts with the intention of
making crappy music. The focus of the band ultimately determines the music.
Some feel that they have something to offer even if they aren't the best
musicians in the world. They have something to say. Its tempting to slag a
band just because they can hardly play an instrument and can't carry a tune
but its art not sport. I paint and I suck at it too. To those that
intentionally sell their souls to be famous I piss on their hedges in contempt.

AAAAAAAOUU!!!! i LOVE skid row :) hell, i just watched "Oh say can you

lot of jammers, even if you're not a fan of the older material, will like
this. people had talked about how low bach sounded on working man, and he'd
'grown nads' so i was expecting some different bach... but his vocals are no
lower on working man than they are on subhuman race, and he puts a hell of a
lot into it. And i think he's a helluva frontman for a great band already.

Hey people! I just returned from stuffing myself on ribs
at Applebee's and then shopping at Best Buy. What did I buy?
Well, the first thing I saw was the new Judas Priest tribute
(import version) and on it there are tracks by Fates Warning,
Testament, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Mercyful Fate, and others.
I can't wait to hear this! Unlike the Rush tribute, this had
the full blessing of the band. I also finally broke down and
bought the "Live in Tokyo" video, which I bought realitively
inexpensively for about $15.00. I also picked up a video of
Dark Angel (DT link? Drummer in DA is Gene Hoglan, who played
in Death with James Murphy, who played with James LaBrie on the
Rush tribute. Ha.) Candlemass, and someone else live for $1.97.
For that price you can't lose. I also picked up one of those
really cheap classical double cd sets. This was a Schubert - Death
and the Maiden, etc. Why should you care about all this? I don't
    really know.

P.S. Pat. It's good to see that your baseball team has such class.

I got this from a friend o' mine (for those non-NMS subscriber Rush-fans
    among you)...

    ---
Someone just called [John] DeBella on 94.1 just as I was tuning in
    (great timing, eh?!) Anyway:
CA: 'When's the date for the Rush show?'
    JD: November 6th
CA: 'When do tix go on sale?'
JD: "They do not go on sale this weekend," with the obvious implication that
they did. He then babbled on for about 45 seconds about how 'he couldn't tell
you this weekend that they went on sale' and 'he couldn't tell you that they
went on sale this weekend' and variations thereof.

    <snip>

Saturday 10am for November 6th at CoreStates Center!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He just made the announcement "officially" He also said (old stuff for us) that it was called "An Evening with Rush"- no opening acts.

    <snip>

Official- Saturday 10am. What I time I picked to turn on the radio!

    ----

Wheee! I'll be there by 6:00 (on an October morning)!
