    hi all,

sorry for the non DT content ....but I gotta ask this ...

does anybody remember that satch said he was going to do a PBS program for
Christmas?? do you know when's it going to or what not???

on DT context ...any body know if the intro of the solo to KH is from
any classical thing. if it is who's the composer and what's if called.

by the way any one know if the RACER-X - Second Heat is out of print or not?
I was listning to the first one today (Street Letheal) and realized how
scary Paul Gilbert used to be. < o.k. they call it masterbating the strings now
but few has the balls to play their ass of these days)

Yes! That would rock! Considering I live in Baton Rouge, LA, and NY is
super far away from me! BTW, any jammers in this area? Anyone going to the
RUSH show in N.O. in December? Send me a personal e-mail, please! Thanx.

You're kidding, right? If I ain't mistaken, all the guitar parts in that
film were done by Stevie and Ry Cooder. I believe it was Mr. Cooder playing
Machio's parts. Imagine, the Karate Kid outplaying Vai? Heh.

I've always thought that "the mirror" would be an excellent video just
because of the movement, narrative and atmosphere that song has. Just like
the song "Sober" by tool was just great. And if I made a video I would find
a way to keep the actual members out of it, not because they're ugly or
something just because it would make you focus on the song and the themes
more. I tend to think that you lose most people in the first few seconds of
a song, if you can get them to forestall their judgement for a while you can
pull them in. If the first image somebody sees is jp and mike p. its "metal
    band" *click*

    my vision:

intro (the chu-chu-chu part) b/w stills of people
drums start: man walking down the street in a paranoid state eyes darting
    and looking around...
faster tempo:(half time)the scene get oppresive and dark
faster tempo:(double time) he breaks into a run down a NY street brushing
    people aside as he runs.
the wah and keyboard parts start: his vision begins to blur and he's getting
a little wobbly as he starts up a stairwell... and slams the door just as
the drums and guitar go... chu-chu-chu....

in front of a mirror: "temptation....etc."

the rest of the video would try to explain the reason for the man's
confusion and anger; his own foolish mistakes and the tragedy that has
brought to his life and the realization that he needs to live for himself
    and the people he loves.

of course I would direct and mike p. could help with the snacks or something
and maybe I would let them play some bit parts....hmmmm?

Hi evreyone , I just wanted to ask if anybody knows the prices for
the G3 concert in San Antonio , TX on October 18 . I'm planning to attend
but since I'm coming from Mexico , I need to order the tickets by phone
(which is a drag because it is a long distance call and there you are
listening to Mozart for 10 minutes...) Anyways I need to organize myself and
figure a way out to receive my tickets. I would greatly appreciate a private
    response.
By the way has anybody seen the dream-theater server ? I was surfing
some time ago and I encountered a www.dreamtheater.com . It is a page
of designers of something I don't remember but it is bizarre. I hope
someone can help me with the G3 info. Thanx!

1: There is a version of James doing WDADU. E-mail Mike Bahr, or contact
me at syrinx@astro and i'll set you up.

2: When speaking to Mike about this particular subject (at the infamous
Ethyl Mertz gig where i accidentaly p'ed Derek off - sorry again
derek!@), he stated that they _WILL_ hit philly again. remember that
they did play birch hill (only a touch over an hour away) last december.
if they play philly, they'll either play the trocadero or the electric
    factory.

The only problem is, i though Arlen Roth played most of the guitar playing
for that scene. Another thing, Ralph was SUPPOSED to sound better (so the
good guy would win, etc), so Vai isn't going to play at his best or his
most intelligent. Granted, I haven't seen the movie in years, but remember
those little cinematic factors which one must consider. ;-D

    Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a. . . oh. . . I'll get right on it then.

You should try Terrible Ted's Import Music. He has "Savatage: Live in
Japan 1994" listed in his catalog for _65.99. I've dealt with
Terrible Ted's before so I can vouch for his legitimacy. In fact, he
was able to get me some discs I've never been able to get before --
even though CD Connection, CD Europe, etc. Check him out at

last Friday. I just got three today and I was already in row 15.
There are only 21 rows in the place, so you better hurry up. You can
reach the box office at 610-644-5000.

Finally back on the jam from vacation. Thanks to Neil for
re-doing the fan club. The autographed picture is great!!
I managed to pick up the RUSH tribute which is very good! It
may have been mentioned already, but who has Deen Castrovono
played for? (a studio drummer I beleive?)

Although I'm not a big Rush fan, I shelled out forty plus bucks
to see them at the L.A. Forum in late November.(My friend is
dragging me) Looks like I won't be getting the new MAIDEN album
now. It has a bad ass cover!! How do people like the new song
            'Virus'?

I'm expecting these albums in the mail:
                    STRATOVARIUS- 4th Dimension
GAMMA RAY- Land of the Free
                    CONCEPTION- Parallel Minds
                    ATTACK- The Secret Place
                    MERCURY RISING- ??I forget
                    LABRYINTHS- No Limits
Can't wait till they get here!!! Fat music fest!!

MAIDEN and HELLOWEEN were touring in Europe. ARHHHH!!!!!!
            The U.S. sucks!!

            Later on,
